Has anyone found a mod that changes indoor lighting? I want it to be always dark inside rooms without light sources, even during the day.

the mild or non-existent darkness 'bug' must be a mod conflict, because Realistic Darkness is working exactly as advertised for me.

We should probably have an option menu to adjust the darkness though. Or would that be difficult to program, for some reason I'm not seeing?

FYI if you are using this with CAI fog of war set the fog density up to like .95 in the mod settings to make the map dark again. I thought this mod wasn't working but that setting has fixed it. Also this mod plus CAI fog of war is pretty terrifying.

By the way, this also affects progress renderer, so if you wanna have cool timelapse you should probably turn this off

Does this mod make it dark in underground areas?

I'm trying to find a mod that makes enclosed areas 100% black if there is no light source (for me, not just my pawns).

this mod may be not compatible with CAI 5000,which makes the day and night darker too, though that mod make it by modify character vision function.

So this mod still alters the image for me; makes it darker and for sure more immersive, but the really dark night is totally gone. Not sure what happened but it's nowhere near as impactful as it was.

I might need this. The vanilla brightness is very unnoticeable sometimes, and because of that, I just let a sunblocker sit there for 30 days because I forgot it happened. My crop yields seemed very low, which is the only reason I noticed at all.

Vanilla didn't become darker but the new DLC adds an effect to the map that makes it look darker though.

Would you add an option to make nights SUPER dark, to match with Anomaly a bit more? Like where a spooky event occurs it triggers a starless night type effect, where it is pitch black without light.
Or just a super dark option in general. I find that I just kept giving commands like normal cause i could still kinda see even in the dark. It just caused more eye strain

Whether one agrees with the ideas or not, it might be worth noting that the mod description states "this mod is completed, no changes are planned" :)

Yeah I agree to EmpiresFlame idea, a slider would be much appreciated so we can adjust things darker but no so dark that I have a hard time distinguishing items.

hey i was wondering, is there a way to make it even darker in low light? ive been playing with vanilla factions expanded - pirates and enjoyed the skull of darkness alot, but wanted to migrate away from the mod for balance reasons. found your mod but its just not quite as dark as i want it to get. maybe adding a scale slider in options or something for minimum and maximum light dependent on values? i dont mod so idk just how much you can change in configs, but if something is achievable that would be amazing!

It seems eclipses don't quite work with this mod. The eclipses in my game are about as dark as vanilla with this mod :\

At first using this mod, I thought, what did I get my self into, its so dark, you cant see anything! But then I realize late game you have so much cash and electrical power, you can actually just build lamps to solve this problem! It gives problem that you can fix with some ingenuity! Thank you for this mod for increasing my immersion!

helloo I noticed that dusk was sometimes dark but also sometimes a nice purple. is there anyway to make it so its always purple?

@tanjo two guns the only good mod I know is "mining co. mininghelmet," there is also a mod called "flashlight" but it breaks my game in 1.4.

Is there a way to make it dark but not as dark? I figure moonlight should still give out a fair amount of light, considering the eclipse description in game indirectly suggests that the Rim the colonists are on has multiple moons by saying "one of the planet's moons..."
