That is odd, will have to look at that
SassyKat Sep 13 @ 5:06am
Had to stop using this mod. Each runway piece was nuking my sim speed by about 0.1
10 pieces later My sim speed was about 0.05. Can't figure out for the life of me why this would be so computationally expensive.

yeah, don't know what it is, but have to turn the friction on wheels down to like 25 to 30% when driving on these runways. Both on a dedicated server and in my solo world. No alterations done to mod configs either.
nukeguard  [author] Jan 18 @ 6:31pm
That's odd, they're just regular blocks, and have not heard of this behavior before
Gemini Sierra Jan 18 @ 9:12am
What if settings, if any, can be made to reduce the grabbiness of the runway blocks on vanilla wheels. It is like driving on unwelded blocks. I can drive straight, but the instant I try to turn, it insta stops the wheels.

I couldn't find something fitting my use case in the alternatives (the other was Too cheap) so I made a variant of this using the already existing AQD concrete we use on our server.

I referenced your mod as the original and hope that's ok. If not, I'll see if I can make it private or something. So long I can share it with the people i play with it's good enough for me.

Thank you for your awesome contribution :NekoPawRight:

Sadly this one is absurdly expensive. I wanted to use these as a gravel dump - and they are - but even after a substantial amount of mining and using gravel exclusively for this mod's cement I still haven't completed filling the cement for one piece of the runway.

can you please add this video to help people decide runway numbers?

Thanks a lot!

yes, you can

Hello, I want to use this mod on my server, it is allowed?
Gemini Sierra Jan 7, 2023 @ 8:50am
What wheel settings, on rovers, do you recommend so that it does feel like driving on unwelded block. Very grippy feeling when trying to turn. Also, the wheels in question are the offroad wheels from the DLC.
Whirep Dec 24, 2022 @ 2:45pm
I'm talking about just for a flat airport. all one level. Taxiway would be dope though.
nukeguard  [author] Dec 24, 2022 @ 7:49am
roads get difficult, would have to add a ton more shapes to make it work for non-level terrain
Whirep Dec 23, 2022 @ 6:42pm
Any chance you would be willing to add Taxiways? I am LOVING this mod. Maybe even could add road for utility vehicles too.
LeRoy Sep 28, 2022 @ 9:27am
Hey is it all right If I edit your mod it takes a lot of gravel to be able to to make the mix and I want to reduce that.
nukeguard  [author] Apr 2, 2022 @ 9:19am
I don't think I can control friction on a block, that may be due to the collisions, try and turn down friction on wheels
Neen Mar 7, 2022 @ 2:15pm
A small note: this is probably a good thing for some designs, but these runways actually have such high friction that it makes turning performance a lot worse. I tried to make a racetrack out of them and when I turn a vehicle on these blocks, the inside turning wheels will literally fold inwards and bug out due to the high friction. It's more friction than terrain and a lot more than armor. however, this probably makes landing and braking on them with a plane a lot better, just make sure the front wheel(s) can't brake or you'll flip over. I considered making special racing vehicles with low friction wheels, but they're undrivable on normal surfaces, so I'll probably just go and finish my racetrack with armor. Still, very cool mod!

Okay thanks! My compliments to you on a great mod. I hope you can find the problem easily.
nukeguard  [author] Nov 10, 2021 @ 4:21pm
that is very odd, will have to look into it
Luvstruckmango Nov 8, 2021 @ 10:34am
Some more Info: Survival in general this problem seems to be an issue. I tried doing a survival world with just this mod and this problem still exists
Luvstruckmango Nov 8, 2021 @ 9:55am
Hi Nukeguard, while playing on my dedicated server we added this mod and the runway middle block places as a small darkgray block instead of the frame. If we build it you fall through it. If I place it using admin it works just fine. Any ideas what's going on?
nukeguard  [author] Mar 25, 2021 @ 5:57am
the blocks have the same amount of block material as the same amount of heavy armor blocks to build
Nick The Duck King Mar 24, 2021 @ 3:48pm
awsome mod but it takes like 2 hours just to build one part of the runway :p

Great For making Aircraft Carriers
nukeguard  [author] Dec 22, 2019 @ 4:52pm
you may edit the mod, when you put on workshop, don't use same title or thumbnail. Please link to original here.
KKComice Dec 21, 2019 @ 6:07pm
Alright thanks sadly it does not work for the type of server we run but that is fine thanks for your time.
nukeguard  [author] Dec 21, 2019 @ 4:44pm
the build cost was based on per 2.5m cube, some of those blocks are <70 blocks in size, they may seem expensive, but they really aren't.
KKComice Dec 21, 2019 @ 8:09am
Nukeguard I was wondering if you would let my friend edit the mod, so we can make the building costs better, its for a dedicated server if you need any info message me on discord KKComice#2940 Thanks.
nukeguard  [author] Dec 19, 2019 @ 4:44pm
that is a keen bug that many of us testers are trying to get keen to fix, think we may have with some demonstrations of armor blocks going through 12 layers of heavy armor. Can't lock blocks as stations if they can be converted to ship
Hage Maoh Dec 19, 2019 @ 1:27pm
Is there any way to lock these as stations? They're fun, but in a server players can drop one of these from orbit and flatten an entire base
Sarah_Starchild Nov 10, 2019 @ 6:25am
Hi, would you be able to increase the 'functional' ratio of the construction bar? I love using these blocks for flooring but accidental grinding deconstructs them instantly. If you are able to increase the functional percentage of the build even by a little that would be great :)
Shiko Oct 14, 2019 @ 12:54pm
Hey Nuke Sorry but i been having a small issue making it hard to use these blocks till its fixed for my build.. currently im getting the missing texture 1 block Build states. is there any way you can fix this so that i can actualy build this into a mountain as i drill Thanks.
UnseenOni Oct 14, 2019 @ 12:24pm
Weird, its been several hours, I just placed one down again to get a log report for you and it worked fine, no disconnect, call it a fluke I guess.
nukeguard  [author] Oct 14, 2019 @ 11:24am
can I get a log from server or client that has the error?
FlamingNinja Oct 14, 2019 @ 8:00am
yeah, smaller sized runway parts would be kinda cool, or just make taxiway parts and we 'll just use them as smaller runways
UnseenOni Oct 14, 2019 @ 7:26am
On a dedi server and whenever someone tries to place one of the new blocks, it disconnects them from the server. Just the 5x7
VS-lockon Oct 9, 2019 @ 6:02am
ya that why i ask if you could make a smaller set for me thank nuke :-P bc the big runway good for small ship Gone Wild but big runway not good for small fighter craft in a base made for small craft
nukeguard  [author] Oct 8, 2019 @ 8:51pm
:-P they're too big lol
VS-lockon Oct 8, 2019 @ 6:57pm
@nuke when you done with the fixing the reactor can you make a smaller runway like a 5 block wide bc i cant fit them in in a base build https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1884520631 please and thank
Entarlas Sep 15, 2019 @ 12:49pm
OK i think i was trying to attach in the middle possibly thx for the responce
nukeguard  [author] Sep 12, 2019 @ 11:51pm
the blocks are really large and the angled ones only attach on a corner, so you have to move around at certain angles to get lined up right, I tried to get it as best as I could, because it's a pain in survival
Entarlas Jun 19, 2019 @ 12:39am
@ brady_bil you use refined stone in your assembler to craft it takes about 30 bags to make one cement
Entarlas Jun 18, 2019 @ 11:15pm
angled blocks flat out refuse to align w/ each other
brady_bil Apr 23, 2019 @ 6:12pm
how do you get the cement mix to build these?
Geneticus Apr 17, 2019 @ 6:50pm
Dunno, I've seen the path comparer be case sensitive before.
nukeguard  [author] Apr 17, 2019 @ 3:51am
well I wonder what happened to the icon
