There is a newer version (2021) of this Berlin map here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2422083660

Can you give me a coordinate? I want to draw the road network according to the map.
Boernes 14. jan. 2021 kl. 19:28
Thanks for this map, it looks beautiful. I remember playing on Sebastians Berlin map and having a ton of fun. After picking the game up again after 3 years and getting it to run with all those new mods and assets I sure as hell will have a lot of fun with this one as well. Just too bad that this map is shifted about two kilometers too much to the west, it just about ends shortly before where I live ^^
Spectre Rose 12. nov. 2020 kl. 16:32
Thank you, I'll give that a whirl.
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 12. nov. 2020 kl. 12:39
You can control the sun position with various mods. I use Ultimate Eyecandy https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=672248733

Question: How do we rotate the sky by 180 degrees? Asking because I noticed the sun rise in the west, cast shadows towards the south midday, and set in the west.
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 30. okt. 2020 kl. 4:44
No problem. Here is top-left and bottom-right GPS, if you change your mind and want to try it (I'd be interested in the results):

top-left: 52.587970° 13.254873°
bottom-right: 52.434770° 13.506559°

@asterisk11231 yeah I already played the map with overlay and it works fine I know, I just thought I could skip all the sometimes very annoying work :steamhappy:

@AmiPolizeiFunk sry I meant the top left to bottom right coordinates but nevermind, I think I'll go back to the good old Overlayer2 mod, it might be more work but for a large map like this it will work better I think, thank you anyway, especially for the map!!
codewitch 29. okt. 2020 kl. 17:42
@Toxxl watch their YouTube series if you want to see how @AmiPolizeiFunk did it... You know what might also be there? A linked save game.

I would not recommend OSM in more ways I can describe in 1000 characters. I would recommend making a black & white highly compressed non-transparent overlay for the game to start, then make a more detailed, color or reduced color, less compressed map as a JPG, then after compressing or otherwise cutting the size down with less unique colors, export a 32-bit PNG with your desired opacity, and turn off the overlay and turn it back on. Overlayer loads it fresh every time but I had much more issues loading a 10meg+ img at game start than loading it ex-post-facto.

Pls answer questions instead of asking more. I already told you that scaling operations occurred so giving you anything generated by terrain.party would be useless. Do you want center GPS? Top left to bottom right? You need to answer my questions so that I can answer yours.
Syggy 29. okt. 2020 kl. 5:29
Did you use terrain.party for the heightmap? I think there are coordinates in. Or what about the overlay pictures you included? How did you extract them from osm? You needed the correct coordinates for the correct pic i think. But I think you're right that it might be too much for the mod.
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 29. okt. 2020 kl. 4:32
what coordinates do you need and in what format? I can provide something that is very close, but maybe not exact, as this map went through some scaling operations to get to 1:1. I find that OSM import of streets is impossible to use because of the mass clutter but maybe it has improved since I tried. Another option is that I could post the streets that I've made (which is a ton of them) as a move-it export file
Syggy 28. okt. 2020 kl. 8:03
I definitely need the coordinates of the map for the OpenStreetMap Import Mod. I just love the map!!
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 25. juli 2020 kl. 2:17
Thanks for the kind words. I sincerely hope you go for it! No two builders would ever do it the same way :cozyteddymoo:
Nico Bellic 23. juli 2020 kl. 13:25
My deepest wish since Cities in Motion came true! I am so happy for a prcice scale and such realistic and beautiful Berlin map!!!!
I fear to start rebuilding Berlin like i did in CIM 2 on this map, because you already do. In a such perfect way. Maybe you will share the Results of your work for others to enjoy someday.
codewitch 26. maj 2020 kl. 16:12
might be a bit dumb, but does someone have a save game with just roads / networks setup?
Codynator 19. dec. 2019 kl. 2:31
Great map and big thanks! Honestly i miss the eastern part of it (Coepenick, Mahlsvillage, Martooth and Brightvillage and don´t forget about High-Beautiful-Reside). :D
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 24. nov. 2019 kl. 10:42
nice screenshots, thx for sharing them. Yeah this map is straight-up 1:1 ... 17.28km wide.
salvadore 24. nov. 2019 kl. 4:31
https://imgur.com/a/XjLfFCE not that much done currently, growing the city instead of painting and spend a lot of time looking for the right roads to download and had to redo a few road creations that didn't work out so well (3 lane one way national roads instead of just 6 lane road)

I find it really marvelous and immersing how bad the whole Alexander Platz and Brandenburger Tor traffic situation is, especially when there was nothing connecting TU Berlin to Plaenterwald (where I started) beside the road of 17th juli straight to Brandenburger Tor over Alex to Ostbahnhof/Kreuz and then connecting to the Stadt Autobahn there.

And I'm going to try fall and winter theme, tho I wonder about the Fall theme, it said you need your own trees, which makes sense, but I didn't understand if it replaces all trees like switching from Temperate to Winter and vice versa does.

Did you have to make the map 4% wider to make it 1:1 scale possible with the game?
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 24. nov. 2019 kl. 3:01
glad you like it! I'd be interested in seeing some screenshots of what you're working on
salvadore 23. nov. 2019 kl. 15:42
thanks for this great map and all the guidelines on the map created with forests, trees, oil, ore, fertile soil and so on, really helps me a lot translating some networks from google maps to the in game map
XeroX 10. nov. 2019 kl. 1:47
Are you going to release the savegame in future? I would love to explore it.
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 3. nov. 2019 kl. 7:21
I've tested it recently and it's working as intended. As mentioned in the description, if you don't have Mass Transit DLC, you need to fix those missing road sections yourself.
Baniak 3. nov. 2019 kl. 3:29
don't work
Momentum1706 1. aug. 2019 kl. 8:19
I know you love Berlin, but after you are done, what will you do next, Munich, Hamburg or other cities in other nations?
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 1. aug. 2019 kl. 3:57
There's a good chance that a version of the build will be on display at PDXCON2019 but the best place to follow the progress in on my twitter https://twitter.com/AmiPolizeiFunk
Momentum1706 31. juli 2019 kl. 18:40
gutentag, have you finished berlin yet, just wondering?

Have you a Tutorial or Tips for ATKIS topography rendering?
Thx and have a nice day ;)
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 21. apr. 2019 kl. 0:18
Glad to hear it
collin 20. apr. 2019 kl. 5:49
It's great. Your work has inspired me in trying to make a detailed map of the Arnhem region in the Netherlands.
Within 2 hours I knew even attempting a small amount of accuracy is a huge time investment.
TF Steve Woods 17. apr. 2019 kl. 0:51
did you release the save game
Galacta's Herald 19. feb. 2019 kl. 18:42
Say the vid on youtube and have to say you sir are awesome and truly remade the gateway to the East and West and can't wait to see the save game to get released!
Schinkenspringer 12. feb. 2019 kl. 9:13
oh ok i thought this would be the safegame.
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 11. feb. 2019 kl. 7:58
I have not released the savegame.
Schinkenspringer 11. feb. 2019 kl. 5:31

⎛⎝Silas_229⎠⎞ 8. feb. 2019 kl. 17:24
Hi, I can't load the map, it appears only at create new game!
LeeNash 5. feb. 2019 kl. 15:01
congratz to your video with paradox to tell your story. it was really nice to see the man behind all this and the project itself
Wolvyreen 5. feb. 2019 kl. 7:25
Thanks again :-) youre a legend.
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 5. feb. 2019 kl. 6:42
All that matters in the end is that your 17.28km of in-game mapspace matches 17.28km of real-world mapspace. Then you will have true 1:1
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 5. feb. 2019 kl. 6:39
um, I guess it would work from a 24km heightmap export, if you then upscale by a bigger ratio. You wouldn't want to do that though as eventually you will start to lose resolution. (Not that the map resolution is all that great in C:S... I learned from the devs that there is an "elevation node" every 16 meters... which is why the import maps have 1081 pixels)
Wolvyreen 4. feb. 2019 kl. 21:26
@AmiPolizeiFunk Another question if that's fine with you :-)

If the area that I export is too small and I wanted to have a larger area to build but still have a 1:1 scale, and I exported a height-map from 24km (for arguments sake) instead of 18km does the same rule apply??

or does it ALWAYS have to be at 18km for this to work?
Wolvyreen 4. feb. 2019 kl. 15:23
Awesome! Thank you sir!!
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 4. feb. 2019 kl. 10:47
if you output from terrain.party at 18km, you need to resize it bigger. C:S maps are 17.28km square. So the ratio that you need to upscale an 18km map is 1.041666. So upscale the 18km map by 1.04166 (or 104.166%), let the edges get cropped, and resave at 1081px square.
Wolvyreen 4. feb. 2019 kl. 2:50
If I download a terrain.party height-map and resize it 4% smaller, shouldn't that sort out the 1:1 problem?
LeeNash 2. feb. 2019 kl. 7:27
@skullcrusher. look on google maps etc...
JVSkull 13. jan. 2019 kl. 18:50
I'm new to city building and I had a question. Is there some kind of key for the getmap, so I can see what is a highway, 4 lane road, etc.
ecl-inc 30. okt. 2018 kl. 14:36
Uh... This is Incredible. I saw the Twitter Screenshots of your safegame, and the level of detail at Alexanderplatz alone is astonishing. Even has a little Primark sign :)

Though.... i can't seem to find it on steam. Is only the blank map availible for now or am I missing something?
Pinoricki 23. okt. 2018 kl. 10:33
This is the best map ever seen not only in cities: skylines but in all citybuilding games! Congrats, but we need more like this!
SouprRacwn 14. sep. 2018 kl. 6:53
I'm interested in making a Berlin that exists in the Kaiserreich universe (or at least in a Kaiserreich inspired universe). I wouldn't mind if I can get a full map that I can change assets in (replacing residential buildings, etc) as well as some Nazi architecture, such as the Volkshalle dome. If you can't/don't have the time for it, can you at least show me how?
AmiPolizeiFunk  [ophavsmand] 12. sep. 2018 kl. 4:37
There's nothing stopping you from doing one now to test :) You can either do it as a prop that can be placed on any building or if it's a massive mural like the ones around Urban Nation, you could do an entire building.
