That is amazing yet strange at the same time. This mod alters no sounds at all so that can't be caused by my mod.

hey bro this is nice and all but the ppl how do have guns don't use it and it make games for me un-able to join. soo this is nice and like i said but it not used enough to be use in muiltiplayer. :/

Thank you lord British, and to finish home, if youve watched any tournament matches of Shogun 2, entire battles revolve around mounted gunners. If it routs, game over.

After validating all these points... Think, when you build your army. Is there a reason not to take a mounted gunner? Do you ever feel that bringing that unit will not be worth the money?

Make all these points no longer true, make me wrong, then perhaps the claims of unbalance are untrue. But until then, understand that there should not be a unit that requires a player to counter it to such a degree to stop it being a game breaker. /endrant

How much Kokku do you have to spend countering this unit reliably? Alot, because remember, throughout all of this.. Fatigue is an issue. You can't reposition your men all day, they will tire, and have to face a fresh army. And once exhausted, that mounted gunner is gonna just be able to run up and take a shot at your defending unit, probably break it in one volley.

A player needs to be very very bad with the mounted gunner to lose against someone without one. I mean.. You could rush someone with a mounted gunner, you could run that approach. This minimizes its effectiveness, less time to murder your valuable units... But that is strategy out the window, and will still fail to protect you against at least 2 volleys into some very valuable units. You'll be lucky if it isnt gone, and the enemy hasn't even taken any losses yet.

Gun Cav are just too significant to a battle. Say you bring matchlock to counter, this forces you to stay in one spot all together, otherwise you'd have to bring more matchlock to back up any stray unit! But then we are putting alot of money into defending against the possibility of just a cheap unit. But say you did that. A mounted gunner could very easily just run to the other side, no problem. Forcing you back and forth readjusting your army to defend, while the enemies army does as they please. You could just take the hit or two and get into combat.. But one or two volleys from a non upgraded mounted gunner will very easily shatter a general, to no losses of its own. So you need to protect your general from all angles, more money donated.

It annoys me those who are defending the gun and carbine cavalry. Put simply, a mounted gunner unit against 10 katana hero, the mounted gunner will win every time. So your thinking, of course it will, it has the mobile advantage of being cav, now think. The very existence of this unit changes the function of the battle, and makes victory of the cavalry fight and the overall one.
What about matchlock units? They are good against cav! First of all, matchlocks are cheaper than bows, and while it holds historical merit to have bows more expensive (due to training), one thing is left out. Archers with all that training would be able to predict the path of a unit and hit fairly often.. so I definitely support making arrows faster, rather than expending the time and computer power in making archers predict where the horse will be... But onto why gun cavalry are far too powerful at this point.

Mate I have 2 problems with your response:
1. My great-grandfather died in a Nazi death camp in Poland, my Grandfather almost was too, so I think I can tell what a Nazi is.
2. Absolute rubbish, if are refering to someone with Killerfish's micro then maybe you argument has some truth, but the average or even high level player would make a mistake at one point or a player with poor micro could use bow cav or mounted samurai coupled with matchlocks to get those 'pesky' gunners.

This is a mod to help introductory level players - People with any tactical knowlage won't play with this. Having weaknesses and strengths are just part of war, fact of the matter is: Carabines and Bows are two different weapons. They shouldn't have the same stats. If you dont like the faction's weaknesses or advantages: CHANGE YOUR FACTION.

My suggestion to you since im very well played in this game is get better. This mod doesnt correct a over power balance, since there is none. Carbine army vs yari cav who wins? Yari cav do in 10 seconds of clash. Now if you compared the carbine cavs to bows then your wrong again. Bows have 150 range while carbine have 125. The reload of carbine and revolver are slow for a reason. They have it already balanced, you just want a advantage some how. Any spam can be beaten with tactics hense im high rank in shogun 2. and my clan is rank 3. So yeah.

I took it off because you comment has no construtive air to it, and its just worng. If you micro is good enough, no amount of light cav can kill it. also, I'd appreciate it if you wouldnt compare me to a nazi, seeing as most of my family died in the holocaust.

First off this is silly becasue everyone that plays Shogun 2 would need to have it. Also mounted gunners are perfectaly balanced, All you need to kill them are 2 light cav. WTF

Thanks for your input guys. When I designed this mod, it was to try to solve a problem for all players. WHile some might not agree that I went about it the right way, I gave it my best shot.

Oh and QWERTY the video was based on vanilla shogun so try focusing there instead. Gun cav on fots is quite well balanced already :D

I think they just need to buff the accuarcy of bows. Reload don't really give much advantage to bows vs matchlocks since they shoot faster in the first place.Also bows should be slow since they are on foot so that is their weakness. If you want speed go for bow cav. Good mod either way !

wtf gun cav isn't op in fots there they are a part of the game. I don't have a problem with guncav only the fact that it is unhistorical. But in fots they are historical so i don't get why you changed them there. but i do however agree with the bows i want to be able to use them again.

Can you link the Heir of Carthage video? I'd like to see the commentary since I'm not quite understanding how gun cav are op. I know that an army without a lot of FoS ranged units or yari cav will get wrecked by one or two gun cavs but I can't see gun cav as being OP otherwise. (Especially against 150 range line infantry)

Bow units are overpowered as it is now you make them even more so. Gun cav are a glass cannon they can get down in 2 seconds without doing much damage.

I wish about a patch like this, unfortunetaly, we can only play with friends in battle list, othervise there will be desync bug :(
