They should utilize the promotion option for example new General will start with 12 and promote to 24 and then to 30 or 48 as max .

aight, i'm giving up. tired that for an hour now, trying to fix whatever the ♥♥♥♥ might be broken but ney, game literally just crashes on loadup now.

@ Babitch, I did some testing on your mod and the line code is okay. I duplicated your mod and uploaded it using the name z Better Division Limits and it works just fine. I then edited the name back to Better Division Limits and it still works. The launcher still has some problems, I like some of the changes and hate others. My guess is if you upload with the name z Better Division Limits your mod will work as intended. Then test the mod my removing it from the local mod folder and and unsubscribe from the mod, restart your game and play as normal - this should remove the mod from the mods_registry.json file. Once your mod is no longer in the mods_registry.json file then subscribe to the mod and test it. It is a must that the mod registry file is clear of your old mod so the the loading order has changed. Let me know if you need more help. I suggest players to do the same thing once you have updated the mod so they get a clean download also. Cheers

for sure, i've seen the file including the division limits was changed for the DLc to include a bunch of spy ♥♥♥♥, this one doesnt mess with that since it's a seperate file created by burch, but appearantly it no longer overrides the original file. guess it's a high priority/unchangable file now becuase of the DLC? not sure what causes it, will look into it when i've got time

It may have something to do with the spy slots as another one of the division limit mods I tried made the spy slot 0 even when formed an agency

yes, i updated it before getting the DLC. now i know it's the DLC that breaks it, just gotta figure out how to get around that

I don't know what yall are whining for, burch has done an amazing job on the code expecially creating an extra file for it. If the game asks you if you want to continue with outdated mods just say yes! Either way i'm trying to update it to 1.7.* so i can have some peace for the next year, the launcher can't find the mod tho so it might be a new item on the workshop.

Sorry everyone, i'm currently on vacation. I'll be updating the mod versio on Sunday or Monday. I cant help with the division making bug but honestly dont believe its this mods fault

Since the last update the mod needs no updates to work - I use it today without errors. I'm sure Babitch will update the version number soon. I hope he uses version number 1.6.* so it will not need updating until 1.7 come out someday. I hope this information helps.

Just a suggestion - in your mod change the name of the 00_defines.lua to something like defines_div_cap.lua and include the following line:

NDefines.NMilitary.CORPS_COMMANDER_DIVISIONS_CAP = 50;
NDefines.NMilitary.FIELD_MARSHAL_DIVISIONS_CAP = 50;
NDefines.NMilitary.FIELD_MARSHAL_ARMIES_CAP = 10;

Nothing else is needed.

That way you only have to deal with a small file and if the game developers change something like they did in the update 1.6.1 and the change most likely will not mess up your mod.

For me the marshals can still hold 10 armies but the generals only manage 24 divisions, so i guess paradox has added something that depends on that number being 24 and nothing else. I'll look into it tomorrow, not sure if i'll find anything tho :<
