Do you know what other mods have introduced this supply system/a similar one?
owl Dec 20, 2023 @ 5:47am
I added all the files. I've been waiting for an hour and the download still hasn't finished. In the mod manager there is a blue loading icon but nothing changes
Scarecrow the Spud King Oct 25, 2023 @ 12:54am
I've quite far into an ancient empires playthrough however suddenly my armies suffer from supply attrition the moment I leave my territory, while fully supplied and in positive supply. Any ideas?
So far there haven't been any issues or bugs and I haven't changed anything at all.

Hi everyone! I'm goign to try ancient empires for the first time and wanted to ask if I can avoid the supply system. I know you say it is optional but wanted to ask if I should download it and just not use it or can avoid downloading it altogether. Thanks for the help! <3

@obed.mm this mod has nothing to do with battles and doesn't cause battle crashes.
obed.mm Aug 24, 2022 @ 4:21pm
MANY ERRORS!!!, IT DOESN'T LET ME EVEN START A BATTLE... BAD
Vaderming Apr 27, 2022 @ 1:41pm
-17 in own lands on settlement with supplies abundant still they mutiny you cant build quick enough with some factions to lower negative points in integrity needs some balancing as some factions have negative traits to farming anyway so its a no win situation

I like playing with 40 unit armies personally, and I realize this mod almost certainly wasn't made with that in mind, so I was wondering if anyone has any experience with using 40 unit armies here and if it is viable, or if I would be better off not using this add-on if I want 40 unit armies

Absolutely fantastic mod mate. A relatively simplistic means of implementing supply that can have influential effects. Hope it remains updated for AE for a long time to come...

@mementomoria420 yep sorry, answer was related to main mod
mementomoria  [author] Apr 17, 2021 @ 11:52am
What are you talking about? This is the supply addon? I don't even do graphic UI or economic balancing.
Ligma Bababooey Apr 17, 2021 @ 11:44am
@RikkiSixes I partially agree, mod look is clear 10/10 but some difficulties are made to just be annoying without reason or rhyme or fun addition to gameplay, plus some UI elements are absolutely awful like barbarian UI ( brown text on brown background ) anyway I would recommend before playing any mod to do a "number of thread performance fix" ( it gave me around 15-20 fps more ) also talking about ancient empires simply use money cheat in cheat engine xD I'm usually not a huge fan of doing that but the mod have so much annoying s**t in it that it feels almost justified
mementomoria  [author] Apr 17, 2021 @ 9:34am
In general in Attila the AI "knows" very little, and it doesn't know how to deal with supplies specifically. It's balanced in a way that won't make them incapable and take attrition all the time and still make the system challenging for the player. When AI armies are in enemy regions, they usually raid, which helps keep them supplied for a long time now. You don't need to worry about AI armies constantly dropping dead, without reason. However, when an enemy force gets stuck hundreds of kilometers from their settlement they will start to take attrition at some point, of course. I can't mod the AI specifically in such a way as to avoid this.
Ligma Bababooey Apr 13, 2021 @ 7:25pm
how does the AI reacts on that new mechanic ?
mementomoria  [author] Apr 5, 2021 @ 11:30am
A) Have you tried lowering the difficulty? To be fair, this mod is intentionally a little more challenging. Most people like that. If you don't, then maybe this mod isn't for you.
B) This is a supply mod, so this is the wrong place to complain about this. Try here
Xin'city Apr 5, 2021 @ 11:19am
This mod looks beautiful 10/10
The amount of playable factions and history 10/10
Attila is brutally unplayable as it is, then when you add things to make it even more unplayable 0/10
Everything added a negative no matter what you researched. Negative food negative money negative happiness negative sanitation negative traits on ALL your generals negative governing traits. etc ALL for what? to make you have a crappy time playing a game that you want to have a leisure time building an empire and enjoying it? I tried two campaigns on normal and one on easy? I loved seeing Numidia and wanted to play it only to get shiet on in 3 turns? I deleted it asap. Its too bad, the mod "Looks" really good. plays horrible.

@RikkiSixes Thanks for your constructive criticism?

@pease Vassal tracking has now been implemented.
svlla Mar 19, 2021 @ 2:26pm
could be my satraps like starving, but i figured the mod didnt make them give me food- good to know its being worked on Ill keep my eye on this one, its a cool idea
mementomoria  [author] Mar 19, 2021 @ 10:26am
@pease How does your armies starving on your satrap's land relate to reserve production? Are they starving, because your satrap is out of reserves, or because you can't source enough supplies from your satrap?

Currently working on vassal tracking implementation, which will increase supply sourcing in vassal faction's regions.
svlla Mar 19, 2021 @ 9:06am
@totobordeu

yeah have to agree with my armies starving on my satrap's land, doesnt work for me
mementomoria  [author] Mar 14, 2021 @ 10:33am
There is a base production, capacity and supply line efficiency. Even without any additional building you should be able to support the garrison and an army in every region. Buildings are upgrades, not a necessity. Farms are one of the most important buildings, so they are nearly in every settlement anyway. I don't understand what sou mean by logical/applicable. Are you just referring to the building balance or other aspects too?

Additional buildings slots are in discussion/being worked on anyway, though again, I don't think they are needed for this mod to work as is.
totobordeu Mar 13, 2021 @ 9:57pm
This submod is a great idea but sadly is not logical and applicable. For you to have reserves and a complete garrison in every settlement you have to build a farm, granary or roads leaving no space for other buildings or special resources buildings. It seems to me that is not working properly. I think if the game had more slots in every settlement like MK 1212 would be a great realistic submod. Still, great job, is my favourite TW mod so far, specially with this big update.
mementomoria  [author] Mar 13, 2021 @ 6:22am
While supply units are a feature we've thought about, it's not a feature we have prioritized. While it sound great on paper, the uses are very limited, might get tedious and would probably break the balance.

If we were to implement such a feature, we'd most likely use agents and not armies/fleets. It may be implemented at some point, but don't expect it in the coming months, as it's not at the top of my list and I'll also be taking a break from modding.
The Brigadier Mar 13, 2021 @ 4:54am
Would it be possible to add supply ships into the mod and allow them to supply armies that are on the coast? Cheers.
Freschfresch Mar 5, 2021 @ 9:18pm
Actually I just deleted all the other mods I had installed on the computer for this game. It seems that for some reason, even if they were desactivated, some files must have been in conflict anyway. Now that everything is cleaned, the food reserves seem to resplenish. I don't understand how is it possible that some mods creates problem even if they are not activated (I also noticed that with the fact that when I'm choosing a new faction for campaign, its characters doesn't appear since I dowloaded MK1212 mod). Anyway, it seems to work well now since everything is uninstalled. If I notice issues I'll tell you. Thank you again for your time and for your great mod!
mementomoria  [author] Mar 5, 2021 @ 2:19pm
You coudl dm me on the AE discord [discord.com] and send me some screens, then I can better understand what's the problem here and figure out how to fix this. Does that work for you?
Freschfresch Mar 5, 2021 @ 1:34pm
Thank you very much for your answer memento. The only other mods I'm running are for camera and blood. I deleted all the others I had. I also had the AE test patch put it's desactivated. I check the local provinces showing empty reserves and some produce localy more than 200 food, without any armie there.
mementomoria  [author] Mar 5, 2021 @ 12:38pm
I'll look into it and see if this is a bug. Here are some tips on how its intended to work: Reserve production is not tied to food production. You can have a global food surplus, but a local reserve shortage. It is also not global, but only province wide. If your province is unable to produce enough supplies for multiple armies you should disperse them across your provinces.
mementomoria  [author] Mar 5, 2021 @ 12:22pm
Weird, anyone else got this issue? @Freschfresch, do you use any other mods?
Freschfresch Mar 5, 2021 @ 9:47am
Hi! This mod is amazing! Thank you so much! I've been playing to ancient empires for a while now, and the new version is insanely great! I had never played with the supply system mod before, and I find it very nice and interesting. However, I just started a new campaign with the seleucid empire, and after about 15-20 turns, many of my settlements have empty reserves, and my armies have their numbers droping dramatically. I don't understand why because I'm over producing (I have in total something like +800 food), and many settlements producing quite a lot have also empty reserves. Do you know how can I fix this? Again thank you so much for this entire mod, it's the only reason I'm still playing attila, and it's just sooo amazing!
The Brigadier Mar 3, 2021 @ 12:40pm
Superb mod!
mementomoria  [author] Mar 3, 2021 @ 4:14am
Sadly Attila doesn't have functionality to check for client states. When I ask the game through scripts they count as neutral. In the future I'll probably implement manual vassal tracking. Then I'll be able to increase supplies gathered from client states.
lequintal Mar 3, 2021 @ 3:03am
Hey memento,
Would you consider increase the supplies received from a client state /puppet state? Is it possible to distinguish them from the neutral city?
damianvincent Mar 2, 2021 @ 5:33pm
AWESOME! I sure hope you guys go for it, oh it would add a lot to the game play! It's versatile too. You can either set it and forget it, kinda, by just putting a few units in there, or you can get real micro with it, and have an entire support division following the main army, swapping in supply train units as needed to replenish supplies and continue the siege, or push deeper into enemy territory for that big pincer movement. It can expand our options, and that's number one in any strategy setting!

Anyway, I'll leave it from here, sorry to pester. Once again, this is some really amazing work brother! The new region update is fantastic, I love being able to see the supplies generated and how things like farms and roads and infrastructure can help boost supply distribution, it's great stuff! Very impressive and Thank you once more for making our game that much better!
mementomoria  [author] Mar 2, 2021 @ 1:11pm
Thank you for the praise. This update took a lot of effort and I'm rly excited to see people like it.
The dev team is currently discussing how exactly we'd go about implementing a supply unit/agent (if we do), it may only be a matter of time(management)
damianvincent Mar 2, 2021 @ 10:42am
Man this is great work bro! I know I already told you that over in the AE discord, but bro really great work with this regions update!!!

I'm serious too, I've been a web designer for 20 years, and have written mods before, I'm not clueless with code, but I'm not master at modding this game either. I would really like to work with you or at least give me some pointers or tips on how to develop the supply train unit. So that we can resupply our troops out on campaign. I love this mod, and it fits in perfect to Ancient Empires, now all we need is a supply train unit. As it stands it's very difficult to enact long sieges without getting creative and swapping out leaders for supplies. We need a way to supply our people in the field, without breaking a siege, we need a supply train unit.

Anyway, sorry to be so pestering about it, you've done AMAZING work here and deserve nothing but praise right now!

@mementomoria420

All clear. Thank you good sir for the answer.
mementomoria  [author] Mar 2, 2021 @ 3:42am
Or you could attack with smaller armies, which use less supplies
