@ashton_atherley Any kind of pedestrian path will do the trick. It isn't enough to place a quay and a road close together.

How did u connect quay to roads without having weird textures?

@Cestodibanana: It might also be a case of the quay just being too long a route for them. The speed on my quays is a little higher than a pedestrian path, so they prefer to use it. But if it's faster for them to take another route, they won't use the quays. Sadly they don't take the scenic route, just the fastest. I tested a bunch of different setups in my cities and had them use the quay in almost all cases (some more than others), but ofc there will be cases where there's nothing to travel to along a quay and so no point in using it.

It's the same as screenshot and is not working, I'll try again.

@Cestodibanana: I just tested it myself and the quay is definitely working. If you have a screenshot of your setup, I'd be happy to take a look and see if I can spot why no one uses yours. You can also try unsubscribing and resubscribing to force Steam to download it fresh if somehow it hasn't updated properly for you.

Here's a screenshot of how a properly connected pedestrian path looks:

I did, both sides. Is not working.

@Cestodibanana: Yes it is. But you do need to connect a pedestrian path to it for people to use it.

They are NOT walkable.

@Snakeheadinvade: Pretty sure it's this one, or at least one of Urbanist's roads.

Love you!, thanks!!!

@Tetsuya Tsurugi: I will update all my quays to make them walkable. They are almost ready actually, but as I am also helping out with mod issues after the patch, I haven't had a chance to update them. I'm expecting to update them within a week. :)

I tried to make a walkable quay with asset editor (with sunset harbor upgrade)... it works!!, but there is a failure with textures. Can you make this changes? (or can you tell me how fix the low res texture problem with asset editor in game). Thanks for yoour work. I love all your quays

@CertainDeath: They won't cover the terrain properly if I make them thinner. I have tried to find a good solution that works, but nothing so far. Props don't place properly on curves and in corners, so that won't work. In theory I could use the ground shader for roads, which will allow grass on the mesh, but then it won't show normal maps right. :/

Hello Avanya.
Do you think its possible to make a series of slim quays with different textures/colour patterns?
Or would it look awful, because it may be needed as thick as it is in vanilla for hiding terrain glitches? And if so, could there be a workaround by sticking props at the quay to hide terrain glitching, so such slim quays would be useful anyway?

I seached qorkshop, and found nothing, i am sure a lot of people would love to have slimmer quays (maximum half the width of vanilla quays)

Avanya  [author] May 26, 2018 @ 4:37pm
@Garack: It's in the water structures category under landscaping with the default quay and canals.
