Please update!!

This is gonna sound really dumb, but- can you add names for Hungary? I want to try and play Hungary and not be using nameless everythings and it would really help, however, i do realize that you'd be nearly unable to get any names as- Hungary is in fact, land locked, and hardly ever survives so whats the point- and yet i request it, otherwise excellent mod

To clarify, I know this one does not add German ship names. I use another for that. I am just showing appreciation for this mod as well.

Thank you! I currently have an issue in Kaiserredux, or maybe everyone does, in which Germany completely lacks ship name lists. Sub-mods like this are the only way I have to fix the issue.
Even if it had the lists, I would still be using this sub-mod for the other nations. Ship name list mods are one of the most valuable on the workshop, to me, and even more so when its a sub-mod.
I hope you continue to update your ship name mods, as there are plenty of mods that could benefit.

@Infryndiira oh my apologies, I made an assumption (without reading the description a whole lot) that this mod is for kaiserreich, it would have namelists for Germany as well. A complete blunder on my part

I've been particularly busy in recent months and unable to play Kaiserreich.

The launcher update means I have to rebuild this mod from the ground up, at least as a compilation, so I can't do a quick update like I used to.

I'll have to ensure that Kaiserreich didn't change country tags (again) to ensure the lists work properly.

Hello, I don't know if you're still updating this mod (judging by the last update date) but I checked through the files and I noticed that the .txt file for the German ship names is missing. The only one present is the AOG and Deutschostasien ship names.

Im assiming this isnt gonna get looked into?

It might be the same for some other nations too but Im unsure

Gonna report it here and in the bug report area, The US ship names double its prefix if you make new ships IE: USS USS Independence or USS USS Arizona

Any plans to add ship names from Belgium, Ukraine and the Baltic States?

Germany has the AOG shipnames

Not sure but this mod does not work for Canada. I do not see the list to choose from. I did not try other nations yet.

I could easily share traditional British names for Canada, considering KR lore. I'll throw a patch later this week.

I apologize if this has been asked, but is there any schedule or plan for Canada? Being a naval power, it really sticks out.

It does look like this update did fix that problem. I honestly don't know what was causing it to not work before, but at least it works now. Is there also a way to contribute to the name lists as well?

The mod has been updated and the problem should be fixed. I could NOT replicate the "No lists" bug reported below when testing with Austria, but I could add name lists to dreadnoughts and what not. Please make sure the country you're playing has lists available for them. If the problems persist, please let me know!

I will be updating this to be compatible with Kaiserreich's current naval system (see comments below) during the coming week. Busy IRL and lots of lists need edits.

Anyhow, taking what I said with a grain of salt, in summary, you have no need of the battlecruiser name list, and add to the name list "ship_types = { ship_hull_dreadnought SH_battleship }" for the dreadnoughts and "ship_types = { ship_hull_heavy_carriers heavy_carrier }" for the heavy carriers in Kaiserreich, and give the battleship the battlecruiser names, and the dreadnoughts the battleship names. Doing all that, I did get the name lists to appear :D

Also, ship names for battlecruisers are unnecessary, as the way Kaiserreich did it was make the battleships into "Fast Battleships (the equivalent to vanilla battlecruisers" and thus use the Battleship specific names, and add a new class of ship with the "SH_battleship" tag (Called "Dreadnoughts" in game), for which this mod does not account for, as well as a "heavy_carrier" tag, another new class of ship for Kaiserreich.

The name lists are non-existent as well, so I put them manually into the main Kaiserreich folder and got them to appear and work. However, the Kaiserreich specific ship classes (Dreadnought and Heavy Carriers) still do not get the name lists. Also to note: I don't know what I'm doing, im just messing around with the mod files

For some reason, it still seems to default to the Kaiserreich names, rather than the ones in this mod, and never uses the name lists included in this mod. Any ideas?

Updated for nominal 1.7 support, just to remove the bad notification. Also re-added Illyria because I'm dumb.

It should be fine, yes. I don't think they changed anything major in relations to the files the mod uses. I'll release a compatibility patch this weekend anyway.

united kingdom still doesnt have many ship names

That's default Kaiserreich behaviour. I plan to add Australasian and Canadian names at a future patch; I am thinking of sharing the British name list with Canada in the next one, specifically, considering the KR lore for the countries.

I know what welsh rebel means its the same for Canada it would seem that the game gives heavy cruisers ,light cruisers ,destroyers and Subs names as you make them but you can't choose from what list you get them from like you would normal do

So far, Canada and South Africa aren't supported by this mod. Please see the mod description for a comprehensive list of countries that receive lists.

i tried it as south africa and it does work, you just gotta produce a vessel and then another to get other names, the list needs to be updated for the MTG system though

Is it just me or does Canada have no ship names? well for carriers and other capital ships at least

Are you still on track for a Sunday update?

I'm hoping to push a preliminary update by Sunday! A little busy due to work and all that. Fir now I'll only be converting the extant lists to MtG format, but future updates will be adding multiple lists per ship class, just like in Vanilla MtG.
