Liberty ship was the solution for lend-lease to Allies. It is low-cost construction even below normal commercial ship building and its strength cause the problem like hull cracks. The fast construction speed was a publicity stunt, the record was launched 111.5 hours after laying, plus 3 more days of working before it was in services. Total 18 shipyards built 2,710 liberty ships between 1941-45.

Below is from Wiki:
The first ships required about 230 days to build (Patrick Henry took 244 days), but the average eventually dropped to 42 days. The record was set by SS Robert E. Peary, which was launched 4 days and 15½ hours after the keel was laid, although this publicity stunt was not repeated: in fact much fitting-out and other work remained to be done after the Peary was launched.

"Personally, cannot imagine how 15 Dockyards across the country to build a single battleship or carrier in few months." Read a bit of US History at the time, focus on Bremerton Naval Shipyards and associated shipyards in Portland OR and California. They built a liberty ship in 72 hours once as a publicity stunt.

Not to poo-poo your mod but fast shipbuilding was actually done and is historically accurate.

Interesting. Could you do a mod that just lowers the naval production from dockyards. can't find a mod who does this.
