Great choice, used it in my mods as well. Make sure you enable river sailing even if fort level gets too high, so players can raid each other for all eternity.
The connection of Aral lake to Lake Sariqamish
I reverted my previous changes and instead extended Lake Sariqamish with the territory of the now deceased new province. Then I added a bunch of sea zones to the European Ocean zone until I discovered that I should have used Sea Zone 20.
Now it all works. I thank you a lot for your effort and I think I learned a lot from this.
Thank you a lot, but after using the nudge tool and adding the river province in the positions.txt file
it seems that my map broke. It looks like a mess. I made a backup of the Vanilla province.txt and exchanged it with the other one after closing Nudge but it looks awful it seems.
2d. remove or comment out the prov IDs from your new segment to the aral sea from major_rivers section (This is to prevent the Merchant Republics from acting weird)
4. Open the game with nudge tool running the nudge tool to update positions for new river segment and surrounding area. (https://ck2.paradoxwikis.com/Positions.txt#Nudge)
5. Add entry for new province in 00_MNR.csv (something like PROV2134;ENGLISH;FRENCH;GERMAN;;SPANISH;;;;;;;;x;)
6. Update colormap.dds and colormap_water.dds to give that new river segment the same look as the rest of the major rivers.
1. Add a new province to the provinces.bmp for the river section. Grab the first unused prov id in definition.csv (format ID;Red;Green;Blue;Name;x). That should be 2134 and draw the river segment in using that color.
2. Update default.map folder
2a. add one to max_provinces
2b. Add that province id to a new sea_zone (will look like sea_zones = { 2134 2134 } #38 Oxus Ext)
2c. Adding aral sea area to the world ocean. Remove the sea zone ids from Aral Sea ocean_region and add them to European Ocean sea_zone
I really love this mod, but I want a connection between Lake Sariqamish and the Aral Sea, how could I possibly achieve that?
1. Remove the province IDs for the river segments you want ports on from Major_River section of default.map. Merchants Republics don't understand rivers so make sure that there is a sea path from where thoes new ports are to the ocean region, or else they will start building trading posts all over the map.
2. Using the nudge tool move ports to be along the river for each land province that touch those rivers and update that in positions.txt
Are you running on CK2 version 3.2.x or 3.3.x?
Are you running any other major mods?
Clearly I've missed something critical. Toggling the subscribe button got me a fresh copy.
614;589;major_river;1096;-1;-1;-1;-1;Ashli-Kerzhenets
There is a major river crossing listed between Kerzhenets and Qazan but not between Kerzhenets and Ashli. This is at odds with the map.

Sure Poland can have land on both sides of the river. In fact this piece of paper said that the other side of the river rightfully belongs to the Kings great great grandfather.
