Mod works as advertised, except that it makes Legendary Lords mute on the campaign map. I have to start an entirely new campaign with it disabled in order for them to talk again.

Must be some weird conflict with other mods. It wasn't like that at the beginning, when I still had only this and one other mod.

What is the point of this mod if you can enable/disable it for any campaign at any time? That means you can still savescum, only it will take more buttons to press. Am I missing here something?

I had an interesting issue just recently where the mod stopped saving my game and I couldn't turn it off to manually save either... I am playing with a bunch of other mods though so not sure if that was a compatibility issue or the mod messing up on it's own. This was a decent amount of hours into a campaign however

Would it be possible to make an even Harder Version of this that would only save when you exit to Menu or Exit the game ?
Other Ironman games I have played (like the Xseries) remove the option to save and load all together. You would only be able to use the Continue Campaign and it would Autosave if you Exit the game.

After messing with this for hours tonight it seems to be working fine. Only bug I encountered is at one random point I noticed the manual save button was re-enabled on the Esc menu. The quicksave keys were still disabled but I could manually save (again, this only happened once). I toggled F10 to verify Ironman was on, and it was, as the notification popped up and it turned off. The manual save button did not change.

I toggled Ironman back on with F10, and the save button greyed out like it should. Somehow, just one time in about 8 hours of playing, that manual save button de-synced. Otherwise this mod functions exactly as it should and was always saving at the end of the turn, the beginning of the turn, and any time you entered or exited a battle.

Thanks again for your work man, I simply cannot play without this!

Ugh, I think this weekend I'm going to try and sort this one out. Recently came back to TW2 after a long break and absolutely cannot play without this mod! My willpower to not save-scum just isn't strong enough.

I created an Ironman mod for WH1, but it wasn't script-based and as elegant as this. I just copied the difficulty tables and all relevant changes from Normal/Hard/Etc over to the Legendary tables so the game forced ironman on the player, but you were playing against a weaker AI.

Game doesnt crash for me. I want the mod to combat missclicks, could you make it so that it saves incrementally at the start and end of a turn?

This mod is a lifesaver; in my current campaign I've got a bug which is known to TW that greys out any option at the beginning of a turn to move lords in campaign map, or save and reload or basically do anything at all. It's something to do with the game not clearing notifications properly at the beginning of the turn. The only way around it is to try and quicksave at the beginning of a turn and reload the save to reset the notifications and it's an absolute nightmare to time it right with lots of reloading saves to find out if I'd got it right. I was all set to abandon the campaign completely until I found this mod! Now I have a guaranteed save at the beginning of the turn which stopped me losing all my progress and having to restart. Not the intended original use but it still gets 10/10 from me! And it does alter playing style a bit which I'm enjoying. Thanks!

Sounds like an issue with UI Modding Framework. Check if you have subscribed to it, and if you have, unsub, then resub. Sometimes Steam fails to update mods and you still have an old file.

Awesome, how did I not find this before? Always wanted Ironman without the other annoying 'features' of Legendary.

This mod still works fine without an update. Mods showing as 'outdated' is simply based on whether the date when they were last uploaded to the workshop was before the release date of the current DLC/patch. It has nothing to do with whether they still work or not.

The author seems to be inactive, but this mod is scripted and far as I know that makes it unlikely to break when the game updates as it doesn't rely on data tables. Played a campaign to completion without issue.

Sometimes the save button is not greyed out but can't be interacted with all the same.
Only 'bug' i've observed.

This is a game make-or-break mod for me, as the constant temptation to savescum just destroys my enjoyment while playing. Why the devs decided to tie Ironman mode to Legendary difficulty only is just ridiculous. Why couldn't it be a simple toggle, for any difficulty level?

Thank you so much for making this man, I can't ever see myself playing WH2 without it again!

It looks like AI general uses Shift + F10, so it should work fine.

Hey OP,

Love the sound of this. I am worried though that it'll conflict with AI General, as they both use the F10 key, albeit in different scenarios. AI General's is during combat, would your hotkey be affected during that point?

Yeah that would help. I suppose in my mind I'm not treating this as an Iron man mode but more of a save often just in case it crashes. The mod still requires you to have a certain amount of self control, if someone wanted to 'cheat' they could turn off the mod with F10 anyway or just unsubscribe the mod. So to me the mod just helps to aid that self control.

Another question about the mod though. Does it save when you quit? There's no obvious prompt, and I've been too afraid to try it so I've been disabling the mod at the end of every session so that I can save manually and exit.

Thanks for the feedback. The main reason it saves before a battle is to make it so that so that you can't back out of a battle which was mis-judged without retreating. The idea of ironman was to make it so that decision are final, and the game can't just re-loaded if a mistake is made.

Yea I noticed its lags when it saves which can be annoying. I can look at making it save only the first time you look at a battle. Would that help much?

Love the mod mainly because I'm always afraid of crashes and losing tons of gameplay.

One suggestion though, as far as saving before every battle, it seems it saves when two armies engage, even if one side runs away, or every time you look at a seige.

Is there a way to change it so it saves when you push the battle or auto resolve buttom. It might just be me but it lags a bit whenever I save, so it gets anoying when it saves too often

i have been waiting for this type of mod. i don't like legendary cause i can't pause and slow down during battle. But when i am able to save, its to tempting to cheat by reloading a turn and doing things differently.
