I'll have to give that a try - I need to build an aggressive Scout to recon the sectors where I've lost other main-ships. Not too interested in recovering the ships themselves, but I'd like get some of that tech back :)

Blackhorse, I just built my first real 7 slot ship and it wasn't easy. I practiced building by using prebuilt ships and modifying them to my liking, that got me some skill in knowing how to build. Then I started building small, only a few square blocks like 6x1x3. By builind a blocks I can then 'widdle' it down like a piece of clay. Using match block works really well and I usually keep my scailing on .25 instead of .50.

Bassically get an indea of the general shape you want, then use the standard sized starting block to block it out and then work it down till it's smooth or how every you want it to be. Then add details like anttena, pipes, etc... Engines almost seem to be a signature per artist in this game, I almost never seen two identical engines unless it was made by the same player.

How the hell do you guys build those great ships? I can't seem to do any better better than blunder around in the Build menu and all my ships come-out looking like a Chalie Brown Halloween costume ... I want something better - these pirates are ticking me off!
