Hi all, this mod isn't abandoned (completely).. I'm in an aggressive school program and working full time right now so I have my hands full, but when things slow down I'll update all these.

Pink boxes of some dogs is caused by obsolete terminology in texture names for caravan packs. Open the mod's folder and rename files in Textures folder to solve this:

> rename MastiffPack_side to MastiffPack_east
> rename MastiffPack_front to MastiffPack_south
> rename MastiffPack_back to MastiffPack_north

Do this also for other "Packs" textures from other dogs such as Cshepherd and Stbernard.


For the pink boxes on Chow Chow puppies, you must edit the Races_Animal_SCDogs.xml file. The file refers to a Chowchowpuppy texture, which does not exist in the mod anywhere.

> open with text editor
> find & replace "Chowchowpuppy" with "Chowchow"
> 1 instance it will find and replace
> save

All pink boxes are because of old naming conventions or bad file paths. If there are more, search for <texPath> tags with a text editor and find if there is something wrong with the path, maybe misspelling or incorrect designation!

Other dog mods only have one or two breeds, or the art isn't good.

This looks great! Could we get a White Swiss Shepherd please? Pretty easy to make, it's like a white German Shepherd.

I hope this mod gets updated soon. Im going through and updating which mods I'll be keeping beyond 1.2 any mods that arent updated but still work with 1.2 I enable, and others that I enjoy but don't work sit in waiting for an update. And still others Im kicking off because either A. Author turned away and left or B. found out the author is a ♥♥♥♥.

Can we have a greater selection of dogs that are able to rescue? So far I've only seen German shepherds able to haul (and also the only ones who can carry in a caravan). Surely huskies, chow chows, old english sheepdogs, etc could also do those?

emergency update colonists can now GO ON WALKS AND PLAY FETCH WITH THEIR DOGS check out @Revolus's mod Animals Are Fun - link in description along with several other of their mods.

@noizeknight Thank you! Looks like a syntax notification on the About.xml. It's a nonfatal error, and the mod works fine when you continue to play. I've updated the xml and republished but I'm still seeing it when I load up the game (@rael_barclay this could be what you're seeing too). Shouldn't cause any playability issues. Not sure why this error would persist after I've fixed it but it shouldn't be a big deal either way.
