Of course it's just the same game enhanced (thus the Director's Cut naming with added features from the original dev).
What did you expect with that hack? A sequel?
- Subscribe to this mod
- "Play" the game
- Once in the game room, find the game shelf and select Sonic 3D blast
- Hit the "Y" button to show the mods
- Click on the Directors Cut mod.
I haven't done too many mods on Steam and figured others may benefit from this information.
Why Sega would buy for something they already own? I'd still agree that they should implement this version in their next re-releases of 3D Blast (as the original is still included), same for Sonic 3&K with Sonic 3 Complete.
Basically, this would allow those of us who own the Sonic 3D Blast PC version to enjoy the Director's Cut patch with the PC Soundtrack, which has several tunes that are LEAGUES better than the Genesis tracks (and several that are terrible, but that's beside the point).
I think the Sonic Retro forums have some discussions about how to get Mode 1 support working in a game. I'd be very happy to see the functionality added, tbh.
Or is it just there to show what the level editor looked like?
