Just to add, Mode 1 would allow the Director's Cut to run on the Genesis but still have CD audio. Nowhere near the same thing as a full Sega CD port.

This'll sound stupid, but is there any chance, any chance at all, that you could add Mode 1 Sega CD support to a future patch?

Basically, this would allow those of us who own the Sonic 3D Blast PC version to enjoy the Director's Cut patch with the PC Soundtrack, which has several tunes that are LEAGUES better than the Genesis tracks (and several that are terrible, but that's beside the point).

I think the Sonic Retro forums have some discussions about how to get Mode 1 support working in a game. I'd be very happy to see the functionality added, tbh.

I believe he's referring to the fact that modded games are unable to create save data in the Genesis/Megadrive Classics emulator. However, this game doesn't actually create save data since it just uses a password system.
