Its a solid 7/10 mod, its only problem is ground balancing and really the only minor side track would be for adding a few new factions to make better use of the greatly increased roster.

Models are good, hero options are solid, space combat a bit dragging but overall workable however unit spacing is way too wide. Weapon effects are a bit spammy but really pretty to look at. Ground combat is just bad. CSA ion weapons stun everything to the point single squads drag down whole armies. AI bonuses seem extreme, on hard mode one enemy infantry squad killed Vader, Rex and several turrets before deciding to run away. Even on easy mode, AI hit rates run several times that of player. I like a more thoughtful AI, but just making it to where the player units don't work, can't move, can't shoot or just can't play isn't it. Lastly is mod stability, which is extremely well handled, the units plan movements in real time and while there are minor lags at times in big battles the pause effect rather than just freezing up the player supports game play overall very well.

It does work fine, as long as you have sufficient space, use the mod id to run it and have fast enough CPU.

@reedytyler43 You have no idea what you are talking about, buddy. The lag from this mod is from the AI complexity. This mod has the best galactic AI. There are dozens of mods that have 250 planets. 250 planets is the hard coded limit, and the engine runs it just fine. Stop trying to sound smart, and making stuff up.

The no hard-points is intentional. As for lag there can't be much done other than just reducing the amount of unit variants and making GC maps have less planets. Engine limitations rear their ugly heads in this mod.

So after putting almost 300hrs into this mod, i have to that i absolutely loved it. Defiantly my favorite EAW mod. Certainty not perfect, but nothing that hindered my enjoyment of the mod. Played the campaigns as well. I especially enjoyed the Thrawn offensive and surprising my favorite was the shadow hand campaign. It was brutal. Also REALLY loved the vast amount of unit variety esp the clone war tech for each faction, wish more of the special/unique units were buildable in some way shape or form. This mod truly doesn't get the attention it deserves. Really wish for PR V3.

Just an fyi i put the launch number in and nothing happens. I put STEAMMOD=1235783994 and it just plays the vanilla game. tried with FOC and normal EAW. would like to play this mod, seems neat but it seems to be dummy proof or something

Love the mod and have enjoyed it since it's early days. My only real complaint, beyond lag, is that in 2.0 small space craft, primarily bombers but also some fighters, feel far too "tanky." Bringing ships specifically designed as anti figthter/bomber I can watch bombers fly around them for 1 - 2 minutes before being destroyed.

Other than that it is still one of the only ways I will play EAW.

i wish someone would add the upgrading ships to a mod..thats the best part ogf this mod imo..leveling up a ship 5 times gives it an rpg element which i love.

@evilbobthebob I would like to ask your permission to use a ton of your ideas and assets to make a whole new beast of a mod.

I would love to give all my credit and honors to you. All I really want is to make a mod like this but fully finished product with no lagging and super fun. for not just me to play but for everyone. I love star wars so much and i want to do something that allows people to relive Star Wars.

@gamingweasleYT it always had lagged a lot. If it didn't lag I feel like it would be one of the better mods out there, just can be really almost unplayable at the larger galactic conquests.

fixed it. was running compatibility mode for windows 7. undid that and seems ok now.

love the mod ... used to lag on galaxy map. core worlds were playable. now the space battles almost freeze, maybe 15 frames a minute. isn't using any graphics or processor power. hope i figure it out as this mod is only reason i play this game. thank you for all your work on this mod.

Additional note is that it does drop when the enemy is retreating, i suspect as they likely stop targeting

With regards to the targeting slowdown, I find fighters are the worst offender and that the severity of the slowdown appears to be worse the larger the target is. Capital ships and the main station have the most slowdown

People who can run this smoothly are not necessarily lying, they just got CPU/GPU that works with old game like this. Remember that game can't take advantage of new CPUs, and all the extra cores go to waste, they just are not used, and so new CPU may even perform worse than old one.

Sadly not playable anymore, stutters even more now than before.

People who say it would run smoothly lie or play the smallest map possible, even on a 7800X3D it runs terrible now. What a shame.

it has more to do with game engine being old, it just got upgraded to 64bit by the Petroglyph devs to address memory shortages.

I have a 7000 dollar gaming PC - and the main map lag. Please ignore the ass-hats (Meow-wow). Something is up and is causing the largest map to lag. Hope there is a fix for it!

I am able to reproduce the slowdowns in tactical combat when targeting happens. However I do not currently know what the cause is. I'll keep looking into it.

@respin same thing here, when I chose the attack option in space the game almost go full stop mode. Exactly the same thing you wrote jan2nd

Every time I try to spawn in the 10k credits Venator Class (believe thats what it was called) for the CAS faction the game freezes.

There is also a unit for the Empire that freezes the game as well, just not sure of the name of it.

Has anyone else been having issues with the game slowing down massively when having a group of space units attack a target, or is it just me?
