basically fill will overflow if there's an order on one of the walls of a room, in this case I tried with a raw stone wall and several orders (smooth but also mine - not shown in screenshots)
- Line (including diagonal and freeform (not in vanilla))
- Rectangle
- Grids and inverted grids (for strip mining or dorms, etc.) (not in vanilla)
- Ellipse
- Circle (not in vanilla)
- Pentagon (not in vanilla)
- Hexagon (not in vanilla)
Also includes these pre-defined object shapes (both filled and outline):
- Sun lamp (not in vanilla)
- Orbital trade beacon (not in vanilla)
There's also a flood-fill tool, as well as undo/redo functionality when the game is paused.
Adds the following shapes to the default shapes menu:
- Freeform line
- Midpoint circle
- Sun lamp outline and fill
- Orbital trade beacon outline and fill
1) do not allow to increase thickness for special shapes (sun lamp etc) because after messing with them seems to be no way to reset to original size. If someone want to play with thickness may use a normal circle
2) do not allow a negative thickness: that messes things up a lot and that not allows people to bring back thickness to 1 keeping "-" pressed

Nothing I click on will take me back to the other window, or undo the setting.

Also good idea to set thickness to 1 when using vanilla mode! Will address that as well.

Also, if setting thickness and then switching to vanilla mode the shapes added by the mod keep the thickness (but there's no way to decrease it without going back to mod mode). Not all shapes, just the added one: for example rectangle uses standard 1 tile thickness while midpoint circles uses the mod thickness.
I suggest to revert to standard 1 tile thickness when ALT-disabling mod, if possible.

GG, thanks for service, o7 and all that.
*actually uses the in-game circle tool*
*whole body shudder*
*reinstalls Designator Shapes*
I was weak. And I apologise.
I've also added a setting in the mod settings to determine whether it uses vanilla behavior, shape-based behavior, or adds the setting in the play settings. By default it will use the vanilla bounding box behavior.
However, as a middle ground, because certain shapes don't allow for dragging anyway and have always blocked the vanilla bounding box behavior (flood fill, sunlamp/trade beacon, custom-size stamp shapes), these will always use the shape-based bounding box when using the designator shapes palette.
Additionally, conduits now default to rectangle instead of line. If that's contentious, I can add a setting.
Also, there is no mouseover text for the new button to describe what it does or which mod it comes from. It took me forever to find the new button icon in my mods folder so I could identify which mod it came from and what it did.
Also, I think the toggle effect is backward. When the option is activated, there is no drag box, but when the button is deactivated, the box shows up. Maybe that is intended, but it seems backward to me.
I can also carve grids out into a separate mod.
thanks

This does not add the strip mining shape, but I can! Is 3x3 the only one or are there uses for like 5x5 or 8x8
Also this did not have the strip mine shape right (3x3 efficient mining thing) I have been looking for the mod that added it and i thought this was it but i think its not?
This is instead of the mod settings, because I believe both use cases are useful, and being able to switch in-game with little friction seemed nice.
