****FOR THOSE SAYING ITS NOT DOWNLOADING****

Subscribe to the items and under library -> downloads you will see your network usage in the top right moving when it is downloading. It will NOT say anything about downloading squad or squad workshop content but it will download. If its not moving and you try to join the server and it says you don't have the maps then restart steam and look at your downloads again.
