i have the same question as @CocoNautilus, what will something like the hero's ring do?
Furious Canadian, Vulpine Gaming Aug 28, 2023 @ 9:44pm
You are appreciated my dude, the default values seem like a complete fucking lie (Not meaning to be like a dick to you to be clear with that) I get afflictions way too often for it to truly be a 75 25 so hopefully this will help with my first run of Crimson court as currently I cant restore stress for shit

do trinkets raise the chance above 50 or is everything capped at 50 regardless?
♥Mommy Cyril♥ Dec 27, 2022 @ 4:04am
Hey Elder, just a quick question, does the mod change the base virtue chance to 50% which is then able to be modified by things like trinkets? Or does it make the virtue chance permanently 50% despite any additional external modifiers?

This work with other class mod ?

Since it's not possible to edit posts, i'll be making this a new post; About the mod i suggested, the penalties need to be something that negatively impact any character / party setup so you can't just use characters / setups that wouldn't really be affected by death's door

However, while the penalties have to be harsh (since in vanilla game said penalty is the chance of permanently losing all time and resources put to that character) they should still be fair, something that can be compensated for to some extent with buffs and trinkets but not something that could ever be completely nullified (unless cured at camp or beating / fleeing the mission, of course)

Death's door also shouldn't affect virtue chance and stress damage taken, as those mechanics are challenging enough as is

Heck, without you i couldn't even play this game in the first place. Im using most of your mods and they make the game actually playable for those like me who can't stand some of the BS the game throws at it's players

Hey Flamew1ng, I'll put this on my to-do list to look into. Glad you're still having a fun time.
Airu Feb 16, 2019 @ 10:02am
Is there a mod that prevents deathblows from ever occurring but also makes it so that the deaths door / deaths door recovery penalties are far, FAR worse (within reason, of course. I don't want a character to be completely useless, just near so until the debuffs cured)?

I don't want to permanently lose a character, but i still want to be punished for letting them drop down to 0 health in the first place

Those things don't need to be in the same mod, so long as those things happen

Why am i asking this here? Because i use most of your mods and if there ever was someone with knowhow related to stuff like this, its you

You're welcome
nmelite Aug 23, 2018 @ 11:25am
Okay, thank you.
ELDERBLIVION  [author] Aug 23, 2018 @ 11:17am
Thanks nmelite. I looked over his file structure and he doesn't alter the line that is edited for my mod. So, both mods will be able to work together.
nmelite Aug 23, 2018 @ 11:00am
Sure, Mod name: More Districts building (Crimson court required)

Mod is here (on steam)/
ELDERBLIVION  [author] Aug 23, 2018 @ 10:38am
nmelite, I'm not familiar with that mod. I would need to look at the folder's structure to see what it edits. As long as it doesn't edit the rules.json file it "should" be okay. Do you have the actual name of the mod you are talking about so I can look it up?
nmelite Aug 23, 2018 @ 9:54am
This mod will work with % virtue chance from districts (mods)?
Dingle Jul 9, 2018 @ 11:22pm
awesome thanks
ELDERBLIVION  [author] Jul 9, 2018 @ 9:51am
Queermaster, you can unsub and it will go back to normal.
Dingle Jul 9, 2018 @ 1:45am
does this perma edit my save like pbd and hamlet defense or can i fully un sub from it without ahving to edit files myself?
ELDERBLIVION  [author] Jul 2, 2018 @ 9:20am
Yeah, dealing with any other percentage rates besides 100% can be difficult to test. With this one, you're either going to get a virtue or you're not.
Greendragon245 Jul 2, 2018 @ 12:43am
Tryng to decide if this is balanced or not...

Updated Game Build, Description, and Picture. Tested with and without DLC.
ELDERBLIVION  [author] Jun 27, 2018 @ 10:54pm
This is the next one on my list. Be starting on it probably first thing in the morning.
Gaze Jun 22, 2018 @ 8:48am
Is it working?
Marv de Marvenlöse Jun 20, 2018 @ 7:19am
thank you for the upcoming update !
ELDERBLIVION  [author] Jun 19, 2018 @ 10:48pm
MiseryPumpkin, currently none of the mods I have up have been tested with any DLC. Making a list of things to look for/check out/experiment with and then go back over everything.
Varina Jun 19, 2018 @ 10:28pm
does it work with CoM?
ELDERBLIVION  [author] Apr 22, 2018 @ 11:15am
KiraxZero, this is the 'usal' file path to check it out. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon\shared

Scroll to the bottom and find the 'rules.json' file. Double click it, and the majority of what I change in the mods I've done is found there.

Check this guide out to understand it more: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=819597757

The reason I am so certain something is wrong is because I just got an Affliction on my cleric, who is resolve level 4 on a quest in the level 3 Baron quest for the Courtyard DLC, she also has a +10% Virtue Chance from Virtuous Chalice, meaning at least 60% chance for virtue and yet got Affliction. Yes, it is still much a coinflip, but similar things have happened so many times.
TheSwedishPlantie Apr 22, 2018 @ 6:01am
It feels like this mod isn't working for me. It could be that I'm just unlucky with the 50/50 but from how many times that I get affliction contra Virtue it seems unlikely that the rate is 50/50. I'm guessing that I may have a compatibility issue. In what line of code can I check the chance of Affliction/Virtue? I know from your earlier comments where it is but I don't know which specific line of code it is. I want to check because I'm fairly sure something is incompatible. Be it game version, my dlcs or the mod Deadlier Quirks (fairly certain its the mod).

Commandopankake, you need to go to your darkest dungeon folder and find the folder named 'shared', then scroll all the way to the bottom and find the rules.json. It will be in there about half way down.
[CAW] Pankake Dec 31, 2017 @ 12:53pm
So how did you change these values? id like to edit the values so its A60/40V
Rhyfelwr Dec 27, 2017 @ 4:04am
I don't think it works, or maybe I'm extremely unlucky? 10/10 negative outcomes.
ELDERBLIVION  [author] Nov 29, 2017 @ 8:55am
Hey meyerik. I don't use PBD so I'm not able to test this out for you. So long as PBD doesn't touch the %affliction and %virtue values, it "should" be fine to use.
meyerik Nov 29, 2017 @ 2:46am
ok with PBD?
ELDERBLIVION  [author] Nov 28, 2017 @ 7:18pm
You're welcome
