very cool mod but how do you swtich seats

I like it.One thing i dont like is the fact that i need another player for the gunner and if i switch i cant drive anymore.Cant you update it so for example if you press the t key to enter in a mode where you can drive it while also being the gunner?

You can use the weapons by switching seats (crouch if I remember correctly).

There's an API/hooks that might allow you to define who can enter the APC.

My friends sit in apc when i driving it. Can you add setting, to use apc only for admins?

I can guarantee you that this email is also for reporting addons, I've done it a few times in the past and moderators from Gmod Discord give the same advice, otherwise you can do it directly on their Discord by pinging Rubat.

According to the Wiki at least, that mail is for appeals, not complaints. Given the recent DMCA abuse that has happened over at our good ol' friend YouTube, I'm not exactly keen on giving out personal information to some other, random dude.

Regarding Human Error/Entropy Zero 2: I'm not sure. I would need to request permission to use it, which sounds like more of a hassle than it's worth. I don't think I'll make another APC, sorry!

Well, disable one by one until you figure out which one causes this. I'm not the author of any of those, so I can't tell you which one could cause the issue - but it's highly likely that one of them is overly attached to a hook.

well, the only other addons i have are the other addons from the play as a combine collection thingy, plus the controllable manhack. i dont have any other vehicle related addons, exept probably disabled ones.

Sounds like a script error. Some other addon or gamemode probably blocks the APC's functionality, therefore allowing the underlying jeep to handle the rightclick.

right click, instead of changing gears, shoots a tau cannon... is that intentional?

Weird how I can't see the APC HUD when inside

its great, but we should be able to disable the apc hud, shoot and drive at the same time and look up while driving it

For those who want a reference for 64-bit branch usage by players (this was taken from Gmod Discord)

The 64-bit branch is a development branch which will never replace the 32-bit branch because Facepunch no longer employs people to support Garry's Mod, only Rubat is involved, but only for minor additions, fixes, etc. From what I've seen, development branches are used by very few players (~5/10%) so don't expect your mod to stop working in the coming years.

I can also confirm the crash still occurs on 64-bit branch only (singleplayer/dedicated server). You might want to leave the fix for the small fraction of players using this branch.

I just tried it again and it crashed me. Maybe it's a branch issue? I'm on the "x86-64 - Chromium + 64-bit binaries" branch.

I'm... as surprised as you are. But if I remember correctly, the server crashed immediately when trying to change the gears, which is using vehicle_flushscript. I've tried it a few times now, with a dedicated server and in SP, and it doesn't. So. uh.

I've deleted your comment Charmy, but thanks for the heads-up. That other guy didn't "fix" anything, and he didn't even do anything; it was literally the version I had published before I've taken it "down" (note that it was always available, albeit in a limited version). I've removed your comment so nobody gets the copycat (which I'll try to take down).

Since GMod seems to have fixed the vehicle crash, I've removed the workaround and put the addon online again.

Volt might support the script flushing; you should investigate it if you get the time!

Never heard of it. The issue wasn't physics, it was the vehicle script (... which I guess is kinda physics, but also not?)

Under the hood, the APC is more or less just a fancy jeep believing it's actually a heavily armored vehicle. Previously, it could swap between slow-but-steady and jeep-goes-wroom modes, but that's been killed off by the update.

Do you think the new Volt (VPhysics Jolt) would be able to support the functionality of this addon again? The creator seems to be willing to edit it to add support for many popular addons; maybe this could be the case for the APC?

Honestly speaking, I don't. When I reached out to Facepunch back then, they told me that it was an "issue with the physics that nobody but Valve can fix" - so I doubt that there's going to be any progress. It's a niche use case.

The new APIs that were offered as replacements do not allow the same kind of freedom that the old ones did.

Do you still check every now and then or when an update is recently released to see if the gear switching mechanic still crashes the game? It's such a shame to see this addon incompatible after so many years.
