Occasional snake enemies are great (probably), but meeting full pack of them as the first fight during the tutorial instead of a single bandit was a fascinating experience (no). Especially size 2 snake that was not supposed to appear in apprentice dungeons at all as far as I remember or during 3rd nightmare at least. RIP Dismas and Reynold, went to recreate the game. Not sure if I was just lucky or they are not rare at all

Does this mod mess with shieldbreaker trinkets at all? ive installed 'no negative trinkets', and that is working for all trinkets *except* shieldbreaker. and im wondering what might be the cause of this.

Can confirm what @Cat said. Is it intended to nerf shieldbreaker's "Adder's Kiss" ability?

That explains a lot. I tend to activate CC later to avoid the crimson curse but still activate the other CC content, e. g. trinkets and buildings. The suggested fix worked for me, so thanks

If you've got CC disabled/don't own CC, delete shieldbreaker.entries.trinkets.json from the steamapps\workshop\content\262060\1182756068\trinkets\ folder and see if that helps.

I am having the same crash as NeitherNoir, when her trinket spawns in Nomad Wagon and I open the wagon, the game crashes, would love a fix for this as it is a great mod that I always use

I love this mod, but it crashes my game. It seems the mod causes a crash if crimson court is not activated, for some reason, her set-trinkets spawned in the nomad wagon, and it crashed, because their "rarity is invalid". Only way to continue my save is to suffer through her annoying nightmare encounters. And I got her trinkets for free at the nomad wagon. For some reason. :blight:

Hey - your mod causes Adder's Blight to be 2/2/3/3/4 instead of 3/3/4/4/5. You might want to go change that as your mod's not unpurposely nerfing SB.

It seems this mod is causing a lot of Trinket related crashes - trying to browse the Nomad Wagon results in a crash 100% of the time, and occasionally just opening my Trinket inventory causes a crash. Love this mod otherwise, it's just I have to pop in and out of the main menu to disable and re-enable this a lot of the time.

It's alright, and yes, that's what I meant. (The set trinkets can be included in this process, you just have to use the crimson court specific rarity)

I think I found out what you actually mean. I changed most of the SB trinket's rarity to their respective "visual_rarity" and set the price them, with the exception of the set trinkets. Does that mean they'll appear as usual trinkets now?

And I'm also sorry I keep bothering you.

Okay I added a line of code to the "SNAKE_SCALE" and "SNAKE_SCALE_ALWAYS" in the sb loot file with the type "trinket" and rarity "shieldbreaker". I hope that will work.

Okay, I think (emphasis on "think") I already learn how you did the code for this mod. You set the flashback/nightmare chance to 0.0 and erase the snakes' spawn condition of needing to complete all seven FBs. Hopefully my guess is correct, but please tell me if I might be missing something else.

Okay I disabled your mod, and now the code works perfectly. So your mod is interfering with my own makeshift mods. You need to fix it so I can give speed buff and blocks to everyone.

I tried to alter the code for serpent's sway in both hero file and effects file, so it targets any hero with speed buff and block. But the block part isn't working. Even though "SB Aegis" is switched from "performer" to "target", the block is still put on the performer, completely ignoring the code. Your mod might have something to do with it, but I'm not sure.

I'd still say, you should ad the serpent's sway be used on everyone completely (minus the move forward part) to the mod. I don't know what else to do because I did everything perfectly right in those files.

@Librarian Arlik Not sure if you will see this, but I am using this mod currently, and I just saw Obsidian Dagger from Shieldbreaker's Crimson Court Trinket Set pop up as a reward for the very first Courtyard quest.
Therefore I can only presume that this mod is putting her Crimson Court Trinkets into the normal Crimson Court Trinket pool with the rest of them, so hopefully the boss you mentioned will also drop them (and I have found her normal Trinkets as normal quest rewards before as well)

@Librarian Arlik I think so, but honestly can't confirm. The changes are in the files but I haven't personally seen a CC shieldbreaker trinket opportunity.

@Blanche Devereaux What other mods do you have installed, out of curiosity? I have a sneaking suspicion that Shieldbreaker reworks might be incompatible, but haven't confirmed it, mod works fine for me last I checked.

Doesn't work with Crimson Court, apparently. The files must be copied manually to <<...\DarkestDungeon\dlc\702540_shieldbreaker\>>, then it works with CC. It's a good mod to have.

Hm, okay. Was just checking because I was noticing less enemy variety in my other dungeons too, so I was thinking there might have been a conflict. Perhaps just RNG across a small sample size right now.

It shouldn't, edits are made solely to Shieldbreaker DLC files. Snakes aren't very common; I left them at a very low spawn rate, particularly for earlier dungeons, since a snake pod in an apprentice level dungeon could easily slaughter a level 1 party.

No horror penalty as you can see in the screenshot, not limited to needing her in the party. It's just a general encounter now.

Are Snake Spawns still limited to having a Shieldbreaker in the party or are they like Bandits and show up in any area at any time? Additionally, does the Shieldbreaker still take the Horror penalty when she does run into Snakes?

@Koishi Komeiji That's a very broken vestal. Not sure why Red Hook constantly updates random hero animation sets, but it definitely gets to be a pain from time to time.

@Raven Guertena Snake encounters start happening after all 7 dreams are beaten in the regular game, this just makes it so they start happening early and you don't have to deal with the dreams themselves.

@Neroninja Working on it, but I'm not super familiar with Darkest Dungeon or its DLC's code setup, so that's firm "maybe" from me.

There are three snake enemy types; one big snake, two small snakes, who appear in different combinations. The dream is basically guaranteed to happen once per shieldbreaker level, from 0-6 (7 dreams in total). It's an interesting experience the first time, but for subsequent campaigns, it gets to be a bit monotonous, which is what this mod is intended to help with.

Hey just want to make a few things clear before i download this mod. Are there just the two snake enemy types? And do you know what the actual nightmare percentage chance is? Because if it IS really high, even 50/50 then yea i want to turn it off. But so far i have only run into the nightmare fight once and it was pretty easy. Though i can imagine it being a pain if your party is in a bad situation already and the nightmare is very likely to happen.
