Hostile Takeover has messed up my trading connectors. Would rather use this one it's lightweight and better than grinding all the turrets.

@Horschdt nah i just have a mod thats adds so many turrets that it gets wild, i don't have the time to grind a single weapon for 5+ minutes when there is 10+ for some of em

I prefer this mod to its successor, gives a single engineer a chance, Hostile Takeover requires way too much grinding.

Thankfully this one still works (for now), Hostile Takeover doesn't do it for me.

@Horshdt Challenge isn't the same thing as wasting half your day throwing powered grids into a meat grinder just to soak up all the ammo an otherwise unapproachable turret cluster has in order to grind it. Maybe once you're in the ship, you don't mind coring the blocks to each and every turret on the outer skin, but some of us are perfectly content going scavenger hunt to find where the hell the remote control block is and calling it a day after that.

@Forest_Ninja101 Well, as i said, if you dont want any challange just press alt-10, turn on use all panels, transfer the grid. problem solved.

@Horschdt Grinding down all the turrets is pretty damn hard when a lot of AI grids can have 20+ turrets, many with overlapping cones of fire

Well, If I understood the author of Hostile Takover, they're going to be creating a config via RichHud or a file, that will allow what things are needed for takeover.
This one was simple, only had a few problems with it and Programmable Blocks causing a game crash.

@Gemini Sierra thats stupid. weapons, control blocks,medicals and warheads. thats it. just like this one plus the weapons which one can argue about, but its hardly "the whole grid" . You get batteries, thrusters cargo.. what else do you want? And if you dont want any hassle.. press alt-10, turn on use all panels, transfer the grid. easy as that.

I like this version better, less of a hassle. The new one, Hostile Takover, You have to practically grind down the entire ship to take it over...

LOL. It was weird, but just turn the power off and back on from the cockpit seat and it updated? Working now!

Hello! This mod seems to function correctly with a lot of things. I have been able to hack a ground station and a small ship. However, with air traffic ships, this mod seems to not be working correctly, or at the very least, is very finicky. I have looked through the entire list of a cargo ship and have disabled all of the 5 block types listed in the description of this mod. Is there something I'm missing? Is there a hidden block or something particular that isnt listed as the 5 block types required to be hacked?

I tried the "escape from mars" scenario/mod with a friend last week and i think it doesnt work right. i can capture something, but the gcorp stuff (espacially those juicy batteries" evade being captured. Is that because its not a default npc faction?

Hello is there a way to add that you need to also destroy/hack the weapon system?

Or else i find it way to easy: i am using the Marine Pirate Encounters Mod and to capture a Calypso's Envy enter on the side grind the ship control seat then fire 3-10 bullets into the remote control. i dont need to take down any turrets

I feel that i would need to at least need to take out the interior turrets that are aimed at defending any takeover.

@Johny - try putting down a control seat. if there is no remote, or any of the usual suspects, that often worked for me

Okay, as I mentioned in the discord, It's apparently having an issue with PB's. after I found them and ground them down, I was able to do the takeover without crashing

Anyone know of anything that would cause taking over a ship to crash the game? Using wasteland encounters 2 and trying to take over a downed shipped and as I build back up a control seat it crashes.

I'm having an issue capturing a grid that didn't have a remote block, cockpit. control station or cryochamber. Nothing to grind down to capture it. How does one go about capturing a grid like this?

If people are still having issues, look for a remote block and hack that. I was having an issue with not being able to 'capture' the whole grid as well but it seems the remote block supersedes all the other control blocks.

Another solution for it not working (at least for single player, should work if the server restarts in theory) is reloading the world with f5

Seems to work fine for my part. Sometimes you have to grind things down a touch more than what you think for the hack to take effect. Just SE things as far as that goes. But yeah any time we grind the required blocks we take it over no problemo. If you're putting down a control seat before you finish everything the ship/station seems to want to take it over though so grind/hack what you need to and check that it's yours at each step then put down your control seat last.

I tried that with the vanilla blue respawn pod. It did not switch to me after grinding and rebuildiung the control seat, am I missing something? I mean that thing even has no cryo chamber...

anyone else having issues with this mod? In particular, when it goes to give control it crashes the game? In this case I was taking control of a Military installations mod ship

I was able to gain control of a grid, but I still had to grind down blocks that I wanted to access, even the batteries which on this Space Pirate Mayday were set to discharge, and when I didn't my turrets shot up my captured ship. I don't have enough experience to know if it is functioning as expected. I was able to transfer most blocks to being owned by me so I tried that, but no effect on the batteries and they were the only thing left.
