I like this mod but I think there needs to be an overhaul to them, rather than an outright nerf. Decrease the accuracy, but they gain something in return, as currently they have very little value other than as a meatshield.

well resistance soldiers do like 2 damage while advent hordes focus civilians and force you to engage ur XCOM soldiers to save them. I see no reason to nerf the already weak resistance grunts. 5 resistance grunts shooting a muton is only gona to 4-5 damage to it.

I was surprised on how sniper they where... Xcom were useless :steamfacepalm:

@ dirigible Tomato. xcom is a game about realism in ambush, terror, hidden traps. The xcom resistance follows the same path like the russian partisans, french resistance, german werwolf. So it has to do alot with realism. And like xwynns the lw2 tester stated in his test about WOTC, the siege mission is strange. All resistance people hit 100% and always 2 hits.... this is a great mod !
Dirigible Oct 3, 2017 @ 7:37am
Realism is completely and utterly meaningless in a videogame, let alone one like this. Why do people keep bringing it up?

Thank you

keep up with the good work. The resistance soldiers always hit nearly 100%. Can´t be. Some Farmfolk and urban fighters can´t be that tough against heavenly arrmed Advent. Only trained soldiers can cope with that. Like in the WW2, russian Partisans were good in ambushes but avoided open fights. why ? because german soldiers were well trained and hat alot of technical ( armored trains/ planes / tanks) support. This was not a Hollywood movie! (and believe me my grandfather fought against partisans). I know what I am talking about. Great Work

And another one. They are good. Indeed. They hit 5 from 10 shots. They aren´t the best.
Kumori Myou Oct 2, 2017 @ 4:43am
they don't have internet out there it looks like they need something to do
Kumori Myou Oct 2, 2017 @ 4:42am
"Have you ever wondered that these random dudes who have no formal XCOM training are practically sniping enemies from across the map and hit them like always?"

well anyone can get good at shooting if they practice, Especially when they live in the middle of no where with the constant threat of an attack.
Shard Obsidia Oct 2, 2017 @ 4:04am
Nice mod! Thanks!
Uncle_Franco Oct 2, 2017 @ 12:58am
I understand why this mod exists, people shouldn't be losing their brains over it.

The first WOTC mission with resistance soldiers I played I thought it was awesome how the reistance fighters put up such a heroic fight, and for me personally I still do like it so I won't be putting the mod on, but it does adress the oddity that the resistance fighters are far better shots than your expert killsquad.
Black Raven Oct 1, 2017 @ 11:53pm
I personally think they should only be slightly worse, eg starting at 60, especially as they actually more field experience, that plus lot your troops are actually coming from the resistance lore wise, your rookies are just the best of the resistance, not what you personally trained
Ginger Oct 1, 2017 @ 9:31pm
@Garfield Harsh.Harsh but hilariously true.
Cathulhu Oct 1, 2017 @ 5:50pm
I was wondering this on my first retaliation mission, I just thought I was getting extremely lucky. Thanks for this.

Side note, I think it's because they don't have formal XCOM training that they can hit their targets. :D
shrahn Oct 1, 2017 @ 5:23pm
accuracy down is good fix for realistic balance. and I wish make them more smart plz. (covering position, throw grenade, blast explosionable object...)
Insufferable Smartypants Oct 1, 2017 @ 4:19pm
It'd be nice if their weapons did more than 2 points of damage, while you're at it. :-D
Leroy Oct 1, 2017 @ 4:14pm
I know and I would have moved on without saying anything but you did leave that question in your description albeit a rethorical. So I thought why not jump in and maybe save some time for people who feel similar about the 95 aim being "op". Didn't even notice when I posted but there was someone before me who actually experienced what I was talking about "There's nothing more annoying that having to waste 20 seconds every turn watching 7+ AIs missing their attacks on the enemies..".
But anyway don't let us or this discourage you from sharing your other tweaks.
teh1archon Oct 1, 2017 @ 2:54pm
Actually Kresh pointed a more significant point - sometimes they run to shot but they stand at a place with no cover. Or worse they exit cover to a cover-less position. I still subbed to this mod and I'll probably activate it too. Unless it's going to be another of those "oh hey, there are more Advent than you'd expect and a Chosen came to kick your ass". Still losing only one soldier (from a squad of 7) was a good day under the circumstences.
p6kocka  [author] Oct 1, 2017 @ 2:27pm
You don´t have to sub this mod. That´s all. All I wanted is to share my settings...
Leroy Oct 1, 2017 @ 1:58pm
No, I have only wondered why the enemy pods stay still and take the shots. 45 aim and only 65 on t3? Might as well make them regular civies so you don't have to waste time on "resistance activity" with that aim.
teh1archon Oct 1, 2017 @ 12:27pm
And seriously, why we think resistance warrior suck even though they can take down UFOs? Because they look like a bunch of hobos with the resistance warriors pack clothes. Seriously? No armor? They look dumb because they are dumb. And LW shows it the best when they can manufacture equipment (with the mod) for XCOM at plasma tier but those assholes use conventional weapons and no armor.

The immersion is bad because XCOM doesn't share its resources with them while taking their. Maybe it's time for "logical rebels" when XCOM can upgrade their equipment (not just from AM radio to FM radio) and they'll actually use it.

Sorry for the rant.
teh1archon Oct 1, 2017 @ 12:22pm
I think that actually the rebels numbers are A-OK and XCOM soldiers simply suck. When resistance warriors (and Mox and Elena) join XCOM they join as skilled and experienced warriors... and then they're demoted to squadies and forget how to use their mad skillz. So XCOM soldiers are either too butthurt to give 100% or unlike other groups they're hopeless heretics who don't walk in the path of RNJesus.

And now seriously (but I think my shitposting was funny), thematically XCOM falls short in many places and this is one of them. When soldiers have bios that they are experienced or even story characters (Zhange, Anette, Mox, Elena etc) when we see them kick ass and then being Samus-ed to armcanon and jump only the problem is that they're held back. Reward soliders should either start at higher rank or start at squadee but gain bonus to EXP until they reach the level they're supposed to be (even if it's only sargent).
p6kocka  [author] Oct 1, 2017 @ 12:19pm
Everybody can adjust the settings in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1153773785\Config\XComGameData_CharacterStats.ini

Change this settings: +CharacterBaseStats[eStat_Offense]=45
Chirumiru ShiRoz Oct 1, 2017 @ 12:11pm
The numbers are really annoying, I tried a similar mod before that nerfed their aims as well.

There's nothing more annoying that having to waste 20 seconds every turn watching 7+ AIs missing their attacks on the enemies, while the Hunter constantly trolling me and 4 berserkers murdering the entire haven lol.
p6kocka  [author] Oct 1, 2017 @ 12:10pm
Hmmm. Good point. I will look onto this. You've right. About 4-5 soldiers is enough
Chirumiru ShiRoz Oct 1, 2017 @ 12:08pm
Or reduces their numbers, there shouldn't be more than 4 of them across the entire misison. At the moment I think you can get up to like 7+? That, combined with them dealing 6 damage is OP. But if there's only 2-4, and them doing 2-3 damage all the time. That'd be more fun for me than just watching them waste 20 seconds of my time missing their shots.
p6kocka  [author] Oct 1, 2017 @ 12:08pm
I've tested it. 85 is too much. That's not a change. But hey. Everybody can change it in my config file.
Chirumiru ShiRoz Oct 1, 2017 @ 12:05pm
I'm not saying them having 95 aim makes sense, just that these people should not be underestimated. They have to be more competent than rookies and squaddies, because they are expected to conduct their own steath ops. (And at the endgame, my soldiers miss like uhh..every 20th shot?)

I think the major flaw with how this type of retaliation work is that the ADVENT do not spends every units shooting the militias (and tends to outright ignore them in favor of unarmed civilians)

As teh1archon pointed out, while they have absurd accuracy, they also tends to get hit by pretty much every thing so easily.

In my opinion, I'd give them high aims (75-85), but simply don't make their health scales, and their damage output not as high as vanilla. That'd probably be better.
p6kocka  [author] Oct 1, 2017 @ 11:59am
Ok. One question. Do your xcom soldiers have 95% accuracy? Do you miss only every 10th shot?
Chirumiru ShiRoz Oct 1, 2017 @ 11:55am
I also want to point out that Bradford mentioned that these people also sabotaged and conducted ADVENT Supply Convoys, and even disabling UFOs on their own.
Chirumiru ShiRoz Oct 1, 2017 @ 11:54am
Which part of the games told the players these resistance fighters have no training? Don't these people operate on their own, conduct their own warfares, and pass along intels to you so that you can actually get shit done? Don't confuse them with the hopeless civilians doing houseworks at the havens.

Not trying to offend you, but these people has to at least be competent enough to supply us with selectable operations, this including contacting VIPs, setting up devices, marking generals, and all sorts of stuffs. It makes sense for them to be well trailed, just not well equipped.
p6kocka  [author] Oct 1, 2017 @ 11:46am
Only for demonstration:
Vanilla resistance soldiers hit from 10 shots 9 times. With my fix they they hit from 10 shots about 4-5 times. Before this fix I watched how those npc soldiers killed one faceless with 12 hp and damaged another units in only one turn. I don't want to watch this game, i want to play it.
Martigen Oct 1, 2017 @ 11:10am
Yeah noticed this... that said they're not completely devoid of training, being resistence fighters. I'd add +5 to every tier, but that's me :)
teh1archon Oct 1, 2017 @ 10:49am
To be fair Advent also have giant bonus to hit them. I don't remember if there's a mod that fixes that or it was in a comment of another mod. But yeah, when they don't die immediately, if the Reapers snipers out-snipe every XCOM marksman (according to Volk) then resistance warriors out-snipe the Reapers and they don't even use sniper rifles :P
