i cant apply sword for primary with this or with "true" version. does someone faced same bug? did u fix that?

I know people are saying to use the true primary secondaries mod and to ignore the dependencies of other mods for this one, but my main issue is that do those mods work with true primary secondaries? as like many others have said it has been years since a lot of the mods have been updated.

I am using the true primary and secondary, but several others mods appear to not "see" the new version, like Dual Wield Melee, Balistic Shields, Infiltrator and Samurai classes. And other several classes that need these mods.

Make sure you're running the Highlander and try True Primary Secondaries instead.

USE TRUE PRIMARY SECONDARIES [BETA]

Keeping the above message for new ppl coming here, as I stupidly missed it when downloading, and now i have duplicates. Does anyone know how to remove the duplicate secondary/primaries that were created? Otherwise Guess I'll jsut have to live with duplicates existing

Edit: It sorted itself out with downloading this :> I am blessed. But be aware that if you equip any duplicated pistols and when you make the swap, you may just str8 up lose the pistols with attachments on them! Happened to me! My Phalanx class soldier was infiltrating a mission and when the mission started they had no pistol! That mission wooped my ass...

Ignore the the dependencies that say to use this mod. I've noticed that most mods havent been updated in a few years hence probably why dependencies say to use this one :>

Snipers that have been around since the early days of my campaign however are unaffected and can still select all kinds of gear for their secondary slot. I also checked the class ini files, all things there are unchanged.

Important question: I recently cannot equip pistols on new Snipers, the entire secondary weapon slot is empty with no choosable option. All sidearm options say: "max 1 unknown weapon category per soldier". However, it still says then when the ONLY gear the sniper has is the default armour and default sniper. I have 0 mods that change class behaviour, but I legit cannot find ANYTHING on that error message via google and therefore also have a hard time figuring out which mod is even responsible for it showing. If ANYONE knows anything, please do share! It is impacting my very advanced career.

Ask for how? If it's AML's dependencies you're talking about those are built from the mod's Workshop page and need the author to update them. A lot of authors don't create mods for XCOM 2 anymore.

People say to use true primary secondaries mod, but several class and other mods require this one. Even loading true primary, these mods still ask for primary secondary.

Having the same issue as rtmckie below. Neither pistols nor swords/knives show up as available for the primary slot (I have both this and the True Primary mod installed, btw), Strange thing is it worked fine on a previous, recent start, and haven't really done anything different for this new playthrough (apart from adding two armor mods).

Bugs: Extra copy of Hunter's Axe appears on all classes. Issue cannot be resolved by uninstalling mid-campaign as it alters the game state permanently. Apparently, there's a newer version of this mod, but not sure if it breaks compatibility with other mods, and requires a new campaign. Lacks info.

Hi, I installed this mod mid-campaign and I noticed there are no primary secondaries or empty secondary option. I tested it on a new campaign and it works, is there any way to get this working for an existing campaign?

For LWOTC player,find XComClassData.ini,replace LWOTC_Shinobi to LWS_Shinobi should work

Hey is there a version of this mod without the animations for primary pistols and melees? i really enjoy the mod but i believe there was a time where the secondaries were just holstered and i prefered that visually alot is there maybe like an old version that i could use? I know its less realistic if the dude walking around with a sword on his back has to cowboyquickdraw his pistol before shooting it one handed but i always liked that alot

Yeah, I forgot this is why I stopped playing my campaign, cause it was getting tedious to have to do this.
I always clear the active squad, then click all the "make utility/weapons/armour available" buttons, then rebuild my squad and equip what I want. Which means everyone not in the active squad gets given an autopistol.
This was also annoying when I got the UFO encounter, and then when they throw more soldiers in from the "reserve", they all have autopistols.

I'm rather suspicious that this is the mod causing my game to crash anytime I fire the Hunter's Rifle on my sniper. I just don't know why it would be caused here, but none of my other mods should be touching it either.

Dont have a "Empty secondary" and something is wrong, since I cant equip a sword as main?!

Anyone else having this keep trying to equip autopistols on to your guys randomly? It's super annoying to go through my armory to keep re equiping rifles on specialists. REALLY annoying when you send them on a covert op and it gets ambushed and your guys have freaking autopistols because you didn't check EVERYONES weapons before sending them out on a covert op eveyr time.

why is this saying it needs the True Primary Secondaries [Beta] plus the other Rpg mod of yours which if used ends up breaking something like 10 other mods that use the True Primary Secondaries mod like akimbo and a few others of that allow my chars to wield two pistols or melee weapons

Hi guys, finally came back to the game after sometime and i seem have a bug with this mod and "True Primary Mod" For some reason the swords & pistols disappear during animations when loaded in the primary slot in the loadout screen. The same goes when using the "Dual Melee Mod" However the animations work fine using "Dual Pistol Mod & Lightsaber Mod". Ive tried the usual cleaning configs, unsubsribing etc etc, but no luck.. I'm thinking that maybe the new update to the highlander mod may have broken something as thats the only mod i have running, and the mods used to run fine before the update. If anybody has any idea i would very much appreciate it. Thanks

You in fact *CANNOT* have both installed at the same time, doing so will break stuff. Personally, I choose to stick with this one as I feel there are simply too many bugs with True Primary Secondaries to make it worth switching over, both functionally, and in terms of aesthetics and animations (which is also important to me.)

I would love to switch over, but doing so just feels bad when I look in my character pool, for example, and my characters marked Akimbo don't use the actual Akimbo armory animations, which they *do* with this version of the mod. Or when my soldiers promote into Akimbo or Stormrider, but keep their rookie Assault Rifle equipped. And with Musashi on Hiatus, I don't see these issues getting fixed any time soon.

Do you need this if you sub to 'True Primary Secondaries' instead? Judging by a few posts down, it doesn't sound like it but I want to make sure. Plus, the AML states missing dependencies if you don't sub to this one.

@joser1215614 That's what the mod "True Primary Secondaries" fixes, if you disable this one and enable that one instead the problem should be solved.

I absolutely love this mod, but there are two big bugs...

1. Many abilities do not work with the primary pistol (Shredder, Holo-Targeting, etc)
2. The pistol frequently jumps out of the unit's hand when firing from cover

If anyone has already worked out a fix for this I would really appreciate it.

so ive tried to contact a modder about one of their classes not using primary sword animations and they never responded...would this be a good place to ask how to incorporate it myself? It's the Fortis Magi from Puella Magi class. WILL NOT use the sword anims and continues to act like she has an invisible gun. If i equip a glaive she'll try to do the glaive animations but she wont draw the glaive...so im just wondering if i can set up the class to use the proper animations or if it would have to be done on their end.

Just finished a campaign with about 280 mods, this one included, and had no major issues! Did see some slight weirdness, but nothing solid enough to report, and nothing that really broke anything too bad either. Thanks for putting this up.
