Just finished a campaign with about 685 mods, this one included, and had no major issues! Thanks for putting this up.

I dont recall and my setup is kind of in transition so my dev tools and XCOM is not installed yet. Check the INI files for SHARD GAUNTLET and look for damage values. If you dont see any i dont change anything on that front. It would be part of my Abilities Tweak WOTC mod, which PROBABLY has that change.

No changes recently. If this mod has damage changes i cant recall check in the ini files and compare.

Was there a recent change to this mod? I could've sworn that after using this mod, the Squaddie Templar had a base damage spread of 3-5 instead of 4-5...

I love the idea of this since Templars are pretty OP with their 100% chance to hit. There's a WotC Evac All now, so hopefully this works with this mod, so I'm gonna try it on my LWotC Campaign.

You can increase the BASE hit chance to 85 (+20), it would alleviate a lot of your issues. For your personal config i also suggest putting 10 or 20 more Crit which can also be adjusted via this mod.

1) Can be done by editing the classes INI file in the game folder. It's text.
2) Can also be edited by increasing the Gauntlet damage in the files.
3) This can be done inside this mod itself, editing the config file of the mod (Default is 30 Crit base).

This mod will not edit default game values of the Gauntlet or of your soldiers by choice. This would be in another mod because it is outside this mod's scope and the changes would not be welcome by everyone.

I play with A better Advent and I'm in the late game now, and half the enemies I'm facing have innate defense, plus they use a lot of smoke grenades. This has made my colonel templar complete garbage as he misses multiple attacks every mission. Not only that, but blade storm is useless on him with this mod. He only hits about 50% of his blade storm attacks. This mod was a nice idea but it's not balanced. In order for it to be balanced you would need to 1) increase templar aim growth so that missing at colonel is rare. 2) increase the damage the templar does 3) increase crit chance.

You can just level your templar. Hell cap the maximum.

I really liked the idea of this mod, but is there a way to increase hit chance/ crit chance via focus level? For example, increase both hit and crit chance by 5% per focus level.

That one can definitely be a problem it wasn't made for wotc. Any mod that doesn't list wotc as a requirement can work sometimes but always assume it doesn't. Especially if its older.

Oh, I'm not trying to be aggressive or anything. I'm actually going to be trying it out! But I do know that previously your Ruler Immunities didn't work with Evac All? No clue what would cause a problem there, but unsubbing from Immunities allowed Evac All to work again. I only mentioned it because other people mentioned in comments for Evac All that your mods stopped it from showing up?

I really want to use this, but (and I dunno if it's on this mod too) for some reason your mods are incompatible with Evac All? Several people reported not being able to use evac all while having your mods installed. Pretty sad, since you've made some pretty nice mods. Would you be able to troubleshoot it at all?

This is already configurable in the base ini files no mod required. Put pierce=1 and rupture=1 for more fun!

@Advent Avenger: Thanks for making this mod! 100% chance to hit from the beginning seems a bit lore breaking. Following on with what @RedCrow said, any chance you could expand this mod to add option for armor piercing or shredding to rend attacks? I feel that Psionic energy should be able to phase through armor, and it actually matters more on harder difficulties.

And if you meant the kill itself, i just tried in TQL and i crit rend a trooper and the templar gained 1 Focus from the kill so that seems to work properly.

Channel is not 100%, the enemies do not leave behind a Focus point at all times. Read the text, the word May is very important.

Hi people. I just noticed that Bladestorm for the Templar has its own calc method, and its also set to always hit. This has been fixed, please update your INI files if you have custom bonuses.

Thank you so much for this mod. I got the "Rend the Lost" mod and this mod almost perfectly balances it out. Its still a bit op but it feels really badass to have one soldier slash a bunch of lost up.

They have miss voiceovers so the change to make them not miss was probably done way later during WOTC. I think its a bad decision myself.

This is actually perfect for balance reasons and I kinda thought the templars didin't miss cause they had a high hit chance, not that it was skewed in there favor.

Awesome mod, whoever im not sure how but I remember missing with rend once, it may had been a chosen with melee immunity not sure its kinda fussy

Bonded templars can even act a second time. Parry, free move. There's really no reason to make them hit 100% of the time other than to please the user base and remove frustration. Dealing with frustration is what this game is about.
