Report a translation problem
I read you bug post its because you need a new game, not a save game unless you upgrade tiers. Its an issue with the code, youre right. The code from this mod is before people figured out how to make guns appear in existing save games. Its an old mod... Try a new game and see if they show up.
Idk if this is a bug but it happen.
Because back in 2017 when modding was still fresh for this game no one really knew how to move hands on guns. You just kind of had to fit the gun to the animation. And when people finally learned how to move the hand sockets for specific guns it was years after i stopped modding xcom. Thats why i picked the H5 saw. Not cause i didnt havent the turret or jorges turret or any of that.
Wanted to get something that was easy to fit into the characters hands without making it a hassle trying to resize and remodel parts of those guns to fit or discover how to move the hand sockets back then. Hope this helped cheers
Especially considering almost every XCOM weapon type has at least one UNSC and Covenant counterpart in Reach:
Assault Rifle: MA37 assault rifle & Type-51 plasma repeater
Shotgun: M45 shotgun
Cannon: Detached M247H turret & Type-52 turret
Sniper: SRS99-AM sniper rifle & Type-52 focus rifle
Pistol: M6G magnum & Type-25 plasma pistol
Vektor Rifle: M392 DMR & Type-31 needle rifle
Sword: Combat knife & Type-1 energy sword
Grenade gun: M319 grenade launcher & Type-52 plasma launcher
Heavy: M41 rocket launcher & M6 Spartan Laser
Love the modpack in base Long war but I’m missing this in LWOTC

Things werent as easy, as researched and accessible back then as they are now. There werent really any framework mods to hook into and a lot of older mods had this issue. Its old. i dont have any desire to relearn the kit to fix it. If you dont like how it is then check out what others did 2 comments below yours.
Ok I figured out a way by using the xskin mod so that I can have the smg. Your DMR is really revitalizing the sharp shooter class for me. It's a bummer to hear you're no longer working on this, you were the only person I've seen do halo weapon mods like this. Either way thanks for this mod it's awesome.
Another mod author contacted me a while back about picking up the mod or something of the sort, it would be different than my original version but i gave them the go-ahead to do it.. im currently unsure of their progress though on the mod.
As for this mod its not been in development for over 5 years (the original port to WOTC being earlier in 2017)
I wouldn't advise making Reapers be capable of using Assault Rifles (a modified version of the "Rifles for all classes" mod would work for that), you'd actually be better off using the XSkin mod to make the Vektor Rifle use the DMR skin.
Giving Reapers the ability to use Assault Rifles would break their "Silent Killer" skill.

You could have a mod conflict. Also i recommend cutting the price of the weapons by like 80% in the config file just personal preference.. I used these the other day in a heavily modded game and they worked the same as they did back in 2017. So my guess is a mod conflict
they should just be available to select for you rsoldiers
Seems to be different person to person. maybe the weapon sounds are tied to a different volume slider in the menu than regular guns, some say too loud some say too quiet.. They were always just right for me
