For easier reference, here is @Sotek's comment on how to make this work for LWOTC:

"I've been having issues with this mod and LWotC.
Finally found the bit of coding knocking this mod out.
XCOM2 > XCom2-WarOgTheChosen > XComGame > Mods > LongWarOfTheChosen >
Config > XComGameCore

At the very bottom, easy to overlook...

; Disable basic ability point events
[XComGame.X2EventListener_AbilityPoints]
MaxTacticalEventAbilityPointsPerBattle=0

Changed mine to

; Disable basic ability point events
[XComGame.X2EventListener_AbilityPoints]
MaxTacticalEventAbilityPointsPerBattle=2000

Works fine now. Hope this helps someone."

Again, this is @Sotek's work, not mine.

For those who want to make this mod work for LWOTC,please check the comment of @Sotek.You need to edit the ini file of LWOTC
Ramarro Nov 12, 2023 @ 8:39am
what do you have to do to make it work for LWotc?
[FT] STRlCE Sep 15, 2023 @ 2:31am
Judging from the description, it should only affect tactical actions like flanking shots and ambushing enemies. Soldier AP itself is affected by their combat intelligence. Also, afaik this mod doesn't change how fast your soldiers level up, it just adds more AP to your xcom pool.
Dandyslayer! Aug 25, 2023 @ 2:14am
Does this mod affect only XCom AP or does this also affect Soldier AP?
C7B3R_Rayko Apr 9, 2023 @ 1:40pm
I tip my hat to @Sotek for helping me figure out why this mod was not functioning right. Thank you for fixing this issue with LWOTC.
MikeWazowski Nov 28, 2022 @ 9:26pm
thank you for this mod seriously. was tired of flanking enemy and only getting 1 AP, now i flank enough enemies i can get 1 respec for any soldier i want.

Does this mod work with LWOTC?
Lex Tempest Jul 22, 2022 @ 5:52am
Does this apply for enemies too or just your soldiers?
HaziTru Dec 16, 2021 @ 1:39am
Could I add modded enemies to list? I just got children of the rulers mod and I want them to give ability points. Any way this could be possible ?

hi, sorry for wasting time, i found out what it was
apparently, the earlier mentioned tactical events can only be activated and granted once per mission, and once per turn
i had just learned this
Icon Apr 5, 2021 @ 3:51am
hey, i have a question. i'm not using your mod atm, but you seem to be the only one so far with a grasp on this ability point mechanic and everyone else that seems to be using your mod has it working correctly

setting "MaxTacticalEventAbilityPointsPerBattle" to say, 100, should be making it so you can earn up to 100 ability points off of tactical events, right?
i also adjusted ability point gain on tactical events to be 10 per proc
yet, i only proc 1 tactical event and it doesn't proc any more

is that intended or is there something else?
is the player meant to trigger different tactical events in their mission (height adv, then flanking, then ambush)?

Hello,

So i have a little problem with the mod.
It just worked perfectly just 6 months ago, but now it doesn't.

Only change i made is using the Alternate launcher.

The thing is :
When i do an ation, i get the message saying "Xcom won 50 points" exactly the value i got, but then when i want to add points (i use RPG overall), i don't have any.

I must admit i'm a bit lost RN.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT : Found out why, and of course it was stupid ....
Don't change the "-" values, i just overlooked that when changing values

How do you find and modify these files in Win10. I hate Win10
kregano  [author] Mar 7, 2021 @ 6:06pm
Find XComGameCore.ini in the mod folder/use Alternative Mod Loader, find every line sayung +NumPointsAwarded=2, and replace the 2 with 100.
It's me | #FixTF2 #SaveTF2 Mar 7, 2021 @ 12:13pm
All the same, I don't understand. I've read all the previous comments, but I still don't understand how to make sure that for each such action for which you get points, you always get 100 points. I just play with the RPGO mod and want to have enough ability points for each fighter. I realized that it would be necessary to change the value of the file in the RPGO mode, but all the same, the fighters did not receive the required number. What values and where should they be put in order for everything to happen ... 100 points?
kregano  [author] Mar 5, 2021 @ 5:28pm
- in front of something deletes that value when the game boots, + adds it to the game when it boots.

So the - deletes all the default values, while + sets the new values you want.
It's me | #FixTF2 #SaveTF2 Mar 3, 2021 @ 12:53pm
And what is the difference between + and - before "MaxTacticalEventAbilityPointsPerBattle"?

Does anyone know where the original file we are altering is located. If I understand it correctly we are replacing the original file"-" with "+" but I haven't seen anyone post were that original file is located. thx
Syndra May 19, 2020 @ 2:07pm
It didnt. It must be another mod but which one and no idea what to look for if I did find it. Ohh well.
DragonKingAbashī May 19, 2020 @ 1:45pm
Then I have no clue. Its probably another mod that is changing the mechanic somewhat. Either a recent update or something else. I hope the reinstall works for you.
Syndra May 19, 2020 @ 1:43pm
I changed it to see if it was working. I tried deleting and reinstalling the mod. Maybe its one of the class mods its conflicting with all of a sudden.
Not sure why it suddenly stopped working. Worked fine in my last campaign. Disabling each mod is too time consuming.
Appreciate the response

In other campaigns I had the value set higher, not to 100 but higher than 10 and it still worked.
DragonKingAbashī May 19, 2020 @ 1:36pm
I have no clue. Maybe there is a limit to that one. As long as you edit the "NumPointsAwarded", you will gain exactly that number of points for that action. For the MaxTacticalEventAbilityPointsPerBattle, I would not change that value over 10. 4 is probably the best option if you have a campaign as complex as mine.

If this still does not work for you, then the author has to answer your question. I don't know why it does not work for you, but works for me.
Syndra May 19, 2020 @ 1:22pm
I get the popup saying I acquired points. I changed one value to 100 but then when I get back to base the points are not there. Strange
DragonKingAbashī May 19, 2020 @ 1:16pm
I don't have any idea to be honest. Typically, the mod conflicts would involve a mod that changes the exact thing the other mod would change or messes with that mechanic. So, if you have a mod that recently changed the AP mechanic, then it might impact this one.

Granted, this mod only slightly changes AP gain. Maybe you should mess with the ini to confirm that it is not working for you. I know it is working for me since I am getting the exact AP I add in the ini.
Syndra May 19, 2020 @ 1:08pm
Not sure what is conflicting with it. I have not added anything new since the last time it worked. Any idea other files I could check?
DragonKingAbashī May 12, 2020 @ 8:51pm
This mod is still functioning. It has not been updated since 2017 meaning nothing has changed to prevent it from working. If you believe the mod no longer works, then try changing the ini to see if that increases your AP gain. Otherwise, you might have a mod conflict.
Syndra May 12, 2020 @ 6:08pm
Doesnt appear to be working anymore.

Would I get more points if I changed the "+MaxTacticalEventAbilityPointsPerBattle" AND the individual ability templates?

Working great on WOTC for me, thanks to the author!
DragonKingAbashī Feb 26, 2020 @ 3:26pm
This mod is still functioning or at least it works on my end. As it suggests, you can modify to increase the number of points. But heads up, it can lead to a huge increase in points if you do not know what you are doing.

I just completed a WOTC campaign with 104 mods including this one. On consideration, I have removed my feedback from yesterday, as I am not certain this mod is not working, I am just unsure about how it and other mods are interacting. I know that I used to believe this mod was working properly, but that was >12 months ago when I last played.

This is on my list of 'must have' mods. Personally I don't use the x2 AP values but being able to increase the AP per mission cap means I can actually gain AP normally!
F23 Mar 21, 2019 @ 8:15am
So far working good, although with double ability points resistance order i got x100 for killing chosen while setting it to 25 per kill, thats 4x the value. You might wana modify that.
