If you go to the production WIP thread at Polycount you will see that my first design was already split between a simple pipe and a wrench. I got suggestions from Polycount and Facepunch forums to do several items: a laddle, a big spoon and a dredge. I thought about them all and took my time. In the end what I actually wanted (and tested in-game) was something that looks like it can really hurt you. Does it fit the story? Yes, I wrote it here. Does it fit the lore? Well, he is a giant drunk lombax/bear (former panda) who roams the lands and fights all these weird creatures. Where exactly are my boundaries? Well, my boundaries are within the rules of the contest and the design documents that Valve supplied. It said to keep it within the color scheme, within the hit boxes and follow the examples. Which I think I did.
This is a strength and power hero, Pina's current set fit his profiled additive lore perfectly. The really important thing in creating a new set for a character is "ORIGINALITY, color study, and silhoutte"(read the set creation guide for cying out loud). hell, I'd rather get Pina's set than get another set that just look like a pimped out version of the old one. does any player here ever played the original DOTA? do you know that Venomancer was derived from a hydralisk from starcraft there? so does that fit the epic fantasy based DOTA1? isn't hydralisk a sci fi based theme just like the move aliens? I rest my case. to be honest I'm getting sick of all "comments" that's really not helping but adding to the future flame/clown(trying to get funny) comments. the bottomline is, If you don't want it then ignore it, if you liked it then give supportive/constructive comments that'll help the artist in his future works. that's all.

haha I get comments like that a lot, IHMO lores are just guide in doing your work, it may be derivative, adaptive or an additive. Heck for all I care, DOTA didnt care about Lores as it was successful ever since 2004 without it.
Can't wait to see people complain about "NAUGHT FITTING WITH TEH LORE"
