General
  • Updated racial unit modularity to accomodate Lupine Form, Goatkin Form and Primal culture.
  • Added the new "Ascension: Deceiver" hero trait, which will be available as an option when ascending to the Pantheon with the three Rogue Tomes.
  • Added the "Blindside" ability modifier, which makes all attacks by the unit against Blind enemies count as Flanking attacks.
  • Added the "Sneak Attack" property, a passive ability that restores action points to the unit after a successful flanking attack so that it can disengage.

Tome of Vice

Removed the following tome skills:
  • Phantom Dash (tactical spell)
  • Corrupting Whispers (strategic spell)
  • Crime Lord (hero skill)
  • Thieves Guild (passive)

Added the following tome skills:
  • Gilded Whispers (tactical spell) - a tactical spell that disables units for a short duration and can be used to bribe units to join your army after the battle.
  • Shadow Weapons (enchantment) - an enchantment that grants your melee units the Flanker property, increasing their damage with flanking attacks.
  • Crime Ring (strategic city spell) - a city spell that increases gold income but reduces city stability.
  • Inflict Blind (hero skill) - a novice battle mage skill that lets heroes inflict Blind as a free action.

Covetous Curse (formerly Corrupted Killers) (transformation):
  • Renamed and all previous effects have been replaced. Now instead grants your racial units the "Loot Corpse" ability.

Shadow Bomb (formerly Collateral Damage) (tactical spell):
  • Renamed. Now does 5 physical and frost damage and has base 60% chance to inflict blind.
  • Is no longer required to target at least 1 friendly unit.

Cutthroat (summoned unit):
  • Reduced armor and defense.
  • "Serrated Shot" ability replaced with "Harrying Shot", which inflicts Distracted instead of Bleeding and has a 1-turn cooldown.
  • Removed the "Opportunist" passive ability.
  • Added the "Sneak Attack" passive ability and "Blindside" ability modifier.

Black Market (special province improvement):
  • Rediced base gold income to 10.
  • Reduced gold income per negative alignment level to 5.

Tome of Whispers

Removed the following tome skills:
  • Thralls of Darkness (enchantment)
  • Iron Grip (city spell)
  • Courtesan Agents (passive)
  • Siphon Strength (hero skill)
  • Cult of Desire (special province improvement)

Added the following tome skills:
  • Infiltrate Army (strategic army spell) - a strategic spell that allows you to spy on enemy armies, and sabotages them with a random Negative Status Effect the first time they are damaged in combat.
  • Infiltrate Defenders (siege project) - a siege project which summons a Cutthroat to ambush a random enemy unit a short time after the start of the battle, and sabotages enemies with a random negative status effect.
  • Shadow Agent (hero skill) - a support hero skill which summons a Cutthroat to ambush a random enemy unit a short time after the start of each battle.

Identify Weakness (formerly Dissonant Whispers) (tactical spell):
  • Renamed
  • Now targets all enemy units of the same kind as the target. (This means it must be the same unit name, for example you can target all enemy Bastion units or Anvil Guard units)
  • All previous effects have been replaced; now inflicts 2 Weakened, 2 Sundered Defense and 2 Sundered Resistance.

Shadow Pact (formerly Covenant of Shadows) (strategic spell):
  • Renamed, units recruited through Rally of Lieges from the target city now gain the "Blindside" ability modifier.

Succubus (summoned unit):
  • Removed the "Mind Whip" ability.
  • Added the "Siphon Strength" / "Transfer Strength" abilities. (Formerly granted by the removed "Thralls of Darkness" enchantment) "Siphon Strength" ability can now target any friendly unit, and inflicts 4 stacks of Weakened instead of 5 when doing so.
  • The "Fueled by Desire" passive ability has been reworked; it is now a stacking modifier that is gained when the Succubus uses her support and debuff abilities.

Assassin (unit):
  • Reduced armor and defense.
  • "Throw Knives" ability now deals increased damage, has chance to inflict Blind, and has a 1-turn cooldown. Renamed to "Shadow Daggers"
  • Removed the "Deathblow" ability and "Fade into Shadows" defense mode ability.
  • Added the "Sneak Attack" passive ability and "Blindside" ability modifier

Tome of Shades

Added the "Shadow Form" status effect, which grants the unit 60% chance to evade melee, ranged and magic attacks for a short duration.

Removed the following tome skills:
  • Stygian Curse (tactical spell)
  • Shadow Familiar (hero skill)

Added the following tome skills:
  • Shadow Form (tactical spell) - a tactical spell which grants a single friendly unit Shadow Form for 2 turns.
  • Shadow Step (hero skill) - a combat skill which allows the hero to inflict blind on adjacent enemies and teleport a short distance.

Shadow Stalker (summoned unit):
  • Now has a regular Charge Attack, with the "Blindside" ability modifier.
  • Removed the "Smothering Shadows" passive ability.
  • Is now an Ethereal unit instead of an Elemental.
  • Added the "Shadow Phase" ability, a teleport ability that creates Blinding terrain in a 1-hex radius.
  • Added the "Defense Mode: Shadow Form" ability, an alternate defense mode that grants the unit Shadow Form instead of increased defense and resistance.

Shadow Veil (formerly Shadowstriders) (enchantment):
  • Now only affects Skirmisher Units
  • Now grants the "Defense Mode: Shadow Form" ability.

Stygian Magic (formerly Shrouding Magic) (enchantment):
  • Renamed, added increased effect for non-repeating attacks.

Night Shades (major transformation):
  • Has been downgraded to a Minor transformation.
  • All previous effects replaced; now grants affected units the ability to always flank against Blinded targets.
  • Reduced some of the shadow visual effects

Shrouded Altar (special province improvement):
  • is now a Conduit
  • now produces +10 mana income and +3 mana income per adjacent Research Post
  • no longer grants Universal Camouflage to units in the city's domain
  • no longer unlocks the production of Succubus and Shadow Stalker units.

Fixed visual errors for the Assassin's Fade Into Shadows ability that were broken by the previous update.

Fixed attack animations for Cutthroat and Assassin that were broken by the previous update.

Fixed modularity for Assassins and Cutthroats when on water. (They will correctly turn into transport ships now)

Fixed some Assassin and Cutthroat abilities that were not usable in water battles.
