2.2.2 Patch Notes

Some of these changes were jokes for April Fools and were never actually implemented. Those have been edited with strikethrough text for clarity.

- Fixed an issue where Bloodforged ranged weapons wouldn't accept any ammo.
- Fixed an issue where the Bloodforged Yoggite Bone Spear couldn't be thrown.
- Reinstated the Midnight Grove multimap bosses, now without crashes.
- Multimap bosses will no longer roam.

Visual changes
- Toned down the minor hit FX for true damage to be a bit less distracting.

Update: Mar 25 @ 4:39pm

2.2.1 Patch Notes

Recook to fix a crash from the previous version. I had to remove the Midnight Grove multimap bosses for the time being until I have more time to troubleshoot why they're crashing the game.

Update: Mar 25 @ 1:01pm

2.2.0 Patch Notes

New Features:
- Added multimap versions of ODO bosses from the Sunken City and Midnight Grove. These can be spawned on any map in any location and will work as expected, providing their own scenery where they relied on any geometry features of their home dungeon. Some gameplay, thematic, and immersion compromises have been made to accommodate the variety of locations people might put them in. All of these bosses are best spawned in flat open spaces and it's best not to overlap them with each other. Admin spawn only for now, with eventual plans to include them in the Black Pool on Isle of Siptah and to expand the number of available bosses in future. Search "multimap" when looking for the spawn name.
- Added encounter hints! These hints and tips display during boss fights to help players understand what each boss is doing and how to succeed in the fight. These hints replace the old FIFO messages and can be disabled from the ODO options menu (Client Options section). The frequency of these messages can also be adjusted.
- Bitterness (Astri's Mourning Blade) will now clear itself if the player falls unconscious, to allow the weapon to be used for sparring on servers with KO replacing death.

Issue fixes:
- Fixed a bug where the speed bonus for Sobeki Cunning could be reapplied infinitely by double-tapping crouch.
- Refactored combo detection for the Stygian Deftness set bonus to be more reliable. It now grants the beneficial effects if at least 2 of the attacks in the combo hit something. The combo still needs to be a different one than the last. It will still always remove a stack for a repeated combo regardless of whether those attacks hit anything or not.
- Fixed an issue with Astri's Mourning Blade not having wield/unwield animations.
- Fixed a visual issue with the out-of-arena invulnerability of several bosses where the visual "shield" particle FX was not going away even after the boss became vulnerable again.
- Fixed a bug where the Brother of the Mists was able to take damage from his own arena hazards.
- Fixed a bug preventing completion of the Wine Cellar journey.
- Fixed a bug where Mitra's Conviction (Mitraen armor) was not detecting religious items worn by NPCs. This also fixes the Mitra journey not being completable in single-player.

Balance changes:
- Sobeki Cunning will now only grant the speed boost and empowered attacks with at least 3 stacks of Ambush Power.

NPC changes:
- The Keeper of the Larder's slave control pylons will no longer cripple players or thralls, making it much more viable to kite the slaves instead of killing them.

Update: Mar 2 @ 5:47am

2.1.0 Patch Notes

New Features:
- Reworked the Wandering Exile 1-skull minibosses found along noob river with improved stats and epic-level armor/weapons that they can drop when killed. Each of the 10 minibosses has a different loadout. This is intended as a difficult and risky way to quickly get decent items at a low level.
- Reworked the set bonus for Rusted armor. Taking or dealing melee damage now has a chance to release a cloud of rust on nearby enemies for 45s. While the cloud is active any new bleed effects applied to the target will also apply a stack of disease.
- Sobeki Cunning can now stack up Ambush Power while you're crouched as well as while you're swimming.
- Added minor particle FX to indicate when a target takes bonus damage from an ODO effect. Physical, True, Radiant, Entropic, Astral, and all 4 Primal elements are supported. This can be turned off with the existing VFX options if desired.
- Added the new Ironhoof Fury set bonus to epic Hyrkanian Raider armor. Your mounted attacks empower your mount's next trample attack to deal bonus physical damage and restore some of your mount's stamina. This armor set now grants bonus str/agi weapon damage and stamina instead of follower/concussive.
- Added the new Stygian Deftness set bonus to epic Stygian Raider and Stygian Soldier armor. Finishing a combo heals you and increases your damage if it was a different combo than the last one.

Issue fixes:
- Fixed an issue where cooldowns were not correctly triggering for non-player units.
- Fixed an issue where some NPCs in the Sunken City only had 15 HP.
- Fixed an issue where Spirited Tussle was not depleting stamina as advertised.

Balance changes:
- Increased the chance for Draconic Succor to proc.
- Added bonus concussive damage to the epic versions of Light/Medium/Heavy armor (the really basic sets that are only used before anything else is unlocked). This is to ensure that if I change other armor sets away from bonus concussive damage, players without DLC/bazaar items will always have some option for it.
- Changed Hyrkanian Raider over from follower/concussive damage to str/agi/stamina.
- Added bonus stamina to Stygian Raider and Stygian Soldier armors.

NPC changes:
- Adjusted the collision of the floor where X'Harazul spawns to hopefully reduce the likelihood of him dropping aggro and resetting mid-fight.

Update: Feb 19 @ 12:55pm

2.0.10 Patch Notes

Issue fixes:
- Astri's Mourning Blade will no longer apply Sunder (whoops).
- Bitterness (Astri's Mourning Blade) can no longer be cleansed with bandages.
- The attack speed increases on Bitterness and Rushing Flurry no longer affect the animation speed of potions and bandages.

Balance changes:
- Primal damage-over-time debuffs now have a total duration limit of 20s in PVP (that is, when both the target and the instigator are players).

Update: Feb 15 @ 11:05am

2.0.9 Patch Notes

New features:
- Added Astri's Mourning Blade. This incredibly rare Greatsword boasts a unique mesh and a carefully designed playstyle that embodies the risky hyper-aggression favored by its namesake. Drops from the Kinscourge, see documentation for full details. Thanks to Astri for your generous support and for being a good friend when I needed one most.

Issue fixes:
- Fixed missing icon for the Stone Sickle recipe

Balance changes:
- Primal damage-over-time debuffs now have a total duration limit of 20s in PVP (that is, when both the target and the instigator are players).

Update: Feb 8 @ 2:12am

2.0.8 Patch Notes

Issue fixes:
- Fixed an issue where my stamina cost scaling for chance-on-hit effects wasn't working. Like, at all. Math was wrong. Chance-on-hit effects will generally proc more often, especially with slower weapons. I expect this to cause major balance issues but I won't know what until people play and feed it back.
- Fixed an issue where the Throwing Axe of Nergal was spawning copies inside the target's inventory like a non-returning thrown weapon would.
- Fixed an issue where Feroxic Bow, Daggers, and Greatsword were not Bloodforging correctly.

Balance changes:
- Adjusted the base chance on hit for Great Wolf, Serpentes, Fiend-Bone, Feroxic, Nergal, Incarmine, and Featherlight weapons to do extra magic damage from 50% to 30%. In practice most weapons will still be around or above 50% due to the fix above.

Update: Feb 2 @ 5:42am

2.0.7 Patch Notes

Recook for new devkit version

New features:
- Added new chance-on-hit magic damage to Great Wolf, Serpentes, Fiend-Bone, Feroxic, Nergal, Incarmine, and Featherlight weapons. Radiant, Entropic, Astral and Primal (earth/air) options are included.
- The above-mentioned weapons can now be Bloodforged (except shields/thrown).
- Scrolls teaching the feats for the above-mentioned weapons now have a chance to drop from most Exiled Lands bosses, same as the Siptah armor feats.

Issue fixes:
- Fixed an issue where effects that were supposed to deal physical damage were instead dealing true damage. This will reduce the power of all physical damage dealing effects, especially in PVP.
- Upped the durability of Bloodforged Acheronian weapons to be in line with other Bloodforged weapons.

NPC changes:
- Killing X'harazul will now grant the feat for upgrading his tome if you've somehow got the tome in your inventory already but didn't have Basic Sorcery unlocked at the time of originally knocking him out (or a someone else knocked him out for you).

Balance changes:
- Destruction magic's corruption scaling effect is now 50% less effective when the target is a player.
- Reduced the amount of weapon damage Condense Power scales with (from 40% to 20%). It will always deal at least 30 damage.

Update: Jan 4 @ 7:25am

2.0.6 Patch Notes

Issue fixes:
- Refactored the way all cooldowns work to fix an issue where cooldowns would sometimes fail to trigger under high lag conditions.

Balance changes:
- Warrior's Honor (Lemurian armor)'s mark base damage reduced from 180 to 110 when the target and instigator are both players or thralls.

Visual changes:
- Fixed a formatting error in the long description for Royal Lemurian armor.

Update: Dec 31, 2024 @ 12:55pm

2.0.5 Patch Notes

Issue fixes:
- Fixed an issues with Khari Acuity (Khari Raider set) that was allowing the bonus melee/ranged damage to proc off hitting terrain.

Balance changes:
- Khari Acuity can no longer proc its bonus melee damage from shots with utility arrows (explosive/gas/smoke etc) or from orb explosions.
- Warrior's Honor (Lemurian armor) now invokes a cooldown on both the marked player and the wearer instead of just on the marked player. Solo players shouldn't notice any difference but this makes the armor less powerful in group fights.
