Patch 4.1 - Warfooting

Commanders!

The road to The HOI4 World Championships is tracked ahead; we're officially on our "Warfooting" (get it, I name dropped the patch name). As a reminder the first Qualifier for the World Championships starts this Sunday, culminating in the first Qualifier Showdown on Feb 4th. Onto more mod related news however, we will soon have a roadmap for you, with a full timeline of what kind of content to expect from the continued development of the mod - without hinting the first release too much; Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Let's even the playing field, will Valentines Day do?

Anyway, Below you'll find the balance change notes. Outside of balance, we've been doing a bit of UI work this period - let us know your thoughts!

Happy New Year Commanders!

To kick off 2024 we've released a large update which adds a more competent Single Player AI. That's right, the training fields are now open! Furthermore we've taken some suggestions from the discord and tweaked tanks slightly, as well as implemented a few bug fixes.

We've also launched our discord server, a link to which you can find on the main steam page here, which now has a comprehensive section for suggestions and bug reports!

Commanders!

We’re rebranding the Commanders in Conflict mod to HOIIV “Commanders” - This is for a number of reasons (some of which we’ll share tomorrow), but we feel a fresh lick of paint and a fresh launch will give the mod the status it deserves. The initial concept of the single map and scenario of CIC has been far outgrown and as such, we’ve decided a rebrand is the way to go.

Nothing else is changing, and we are still committed to the development plan and timeline we’ve hinted at in the live broadcasts. We’ve been working on some core mechanical components such as the AI, as well as developing a core foundation for the mod - all of which will be out by New Years Day.

We thank you for your continued support of the mod, there’s plenty more Commanders news to follow!

Hotfix - TKTournament

Changed the defines for armor and piercing so that the maximum matters less and the average matters more in an attempt to "fix" space marines as requested by the top8. This might be a temporary change for the tournament.

Patch 3.7 - Winter Assault

Hello Commanders! Midgeman here bringing you another midseason update!

Welcome to the Winter balance patch which is all about one thing - SPEED! After all, its in the company name. The TDLR of all of our chance focuses for this mid-season push is to speed up the build up time and get to the combat quicker, without compromising a players ability to choose and develop a strategy.

We shortened the build up time period by 3 months, sped up Focuses and Research as well as added a new "Rearmament" National Spirit to allow you the flexibility to customise your builds more in the pre-war phase (Full stats are listed in the change log below).

Finally, we took a look at the overall faction balance, with special note to re-balancing the Generals you get with certain factions and some small changes to make Tanks and Tank designs more viable.

Before we move onto the patch notes, I'd like to also say a few words. Following this patch, whilst we may hotfix certain elements from this patch, we will not see another update before the year is out. We therefore would also like to take a moment to thank everyone for such an awesome year. This mods first iteration came out in December 2022 as a tiny one map, mediocre gamemode. It has since flourished into a fleshed out staple of the Multiplayer Scene. So as we hit our 1 year anniversary, First of all, I'd like to take a quick moment to thank the awesome and ever growing team behind this mod and its development: Featherus, Lennard, Void Templar and SumZero for their constant hard work. Secondly, I'd like to thank you, the Commanders within our community. This mod wouldn't be the same without such a dedicated player base - you the real MVPs!
