Zeta Update 4.8 | Text Chat Capability

Pretty much a major update on its own.

Here's a update I know everyone was waiting for. Sooo.. Let's get into what is new!

-- Zetas can now use Text Chat. This is off by default. Turn it on in others

-- A new personality slider has been added. Text Chance. Chance for anything text chat related

-- Zetas can now enter conversations with players. You can respond to the Zeta using text chat

-- Admins will now wait for a jailed Player's response in text chat before speaking his line or punishing the player.

-- Zetas can now earn Achievements. They can earn default achievements and two new specific achievements such as Berseker and Real Player Nemesis. Berserker is earned for a Zeta killing at max 500 other Zetas. Player Nemesis is earned by killing the real Player at max 500 times.

-- Zetas will use text chat to celebrate certain days such as the 4th of July and more.

The Zetas can also wish you a happy birthday if it is your birthday. You can let the Zetas be aware of your birthday by using this console command

zetaplayer_setplayerbirthday

EXAMPLE USAGE: zetaplayer_setplayerbirthday April 7

Make sure you spell the month correctly! Always capitalize the first letter!

EXAMPLE USAGE 2: zetaplayer_setplayerbirthday August 16

90% of ALL text chat lines are done and submitted by members in the Zeta's Domain Discord Server. All of them did a fantastic job on typing up those lines

Zeta Update 4.7.7

-- Zetas can now enter conversations with each other. You can disable it and increase the chance or lower the chance in Voice Options

Note that they can talk to players but it is currently disabled in code. I want to test that further later before applying it.

You can now new custom voice line folders for the conversations. conquestion and conrespond.

conquestion is a question being said to a zeta and conrespond is the response the other zeta will give

Zeta Update 4.7.3

-- Added the Prop Register Panel. You can now use this panel to easily add props to the prop list

-- Added the Profile System. This is a system that was a community contribute that has been sitting in the code unused for several weeks. If you want to use this system, turn it on in Others

This system allows you to create profiles for a specific zeta name and will apply it's settings to a Zeta with the same name.

For example, I can have a Zeta named Speedy always have a playermodel of a jolteon and profile picture of one and maybe have him use a custom personality

-- Added the Profile Panel. This is you will use to create Profiles for the Zetas. You can save and load profiles and edit easily. Again incase someone missed it, if you want to use this system, turn it on in Others

-- Added Falling sounds. These sounds will play when a Zeta falls from a certain height that is especially lethal with Realistic Fall Damage.

This means you can add a new folder in your custom_vo folder with the name of "fall" process is the same.

Zeta Update 4.7.1

-- Rewrote unstuck behavior

More specifically, Unstuck will try to find the closest navigation area and will search farther and farther until it finds one. Unstuck now uses the ENT:Think() instead of creating a timer to run on tick which is some optimization for ya.

-- Zetas can now interact with buttons.

Buttons such as, Gmod buttons, func_button which maps use, and wiremod buttons.

-- Added some HL1 Weapons. You need HL1 mounted for these

Zeta Update 4.7

-- More Code Optimization

Last update I noticed a very obvious change. FPS was way higher than normal. The Code optimizing from before really has benefited the FPS and so I felt that I should push some more optimizations and release it.

If you want a gauge of how good these optimizations are, I can now run 40 Zetas while being above 25 FPS. Before optimizations I could only do 20 Zetas before it becomes unplayable beyond. I wouldn't have known or been able to do all of this without Mee telling me some advice on optimizations

Zeta Update 4.6.9

-- Teams can now seen through a Zeta's Name Display

-- Added the option to have MWS (Map wide Spawning) spawn rate to act as the max for a random spawn time

-- Zetas will now panic as a C4 primes

-- You can now individually revoke certain admin commands Admins are allowed to use passively such as God Mode

-- Added "Dynamic Pathfinding"

Dynamic pathfinding is a option in Others that tries to help Zetas navigate around props and find alternate routes if possible. Dynamic pathfinding WILL cost more on performance due to the traces being fired in order to figure out if a path is blocked. It is recommended that you use a small amount of Zetas if you are using this.

I must mention, Dynamic Pathfinding is as good as it's gonna get because of the few options I had.
