This is a temporary solution, but I had to cross something in the code out to apply this and prevent errors. I have a solution to make them both work without cranking up the DLC requirements too much, but that will take time to apply, and I don't want to keep you waiting, because I understand too well your position in how it feels not being able to play this mod, so I wanted to push this as quickly as possible. Expect another update coming soon however, as soon as I have fully applied the real solution I am looking for.

- Tweaked Naruto's behavior so he will stop approving warmongers for never giving up.

- Significantly nerfed the Shinobi:

  • Gave the shinobi unit a -17 combat strength penalty when attacking cities. (Not battling to be clear, meaning they do not face this penalty from defending from ranged city strikes.)
  • The combat strength of the shinobi was originally 55 (50 for ranged strength); it has now been lowered to 45 and 40 respectively. (I based that combat strength on the average chunin shinobi, such as Ebisu & Iruka. Following feedback and further testing even after applying that penalty to attacking walled cities, I have confirmed that it was indeed too OP, since this unit had the potential to shoot as high as 110 or 120, adding that walls can't protect your cities from these monstrous units. The current combat strength of the shinobi unit is now based on average genin-level shinobi, such as Shippuden-era Konohamaru & Part I Naruto. I swear, trying to translate power scaling from shounen anime into a well-balanced Civ 6 mod function while trying to stay authentic to the source material is difficult *sigh*)
  • Significantly increased the Shinobi's accumulation of Great General points per kill, as +2 GGP per kill was pretty much worthless and almost the same as getting no GGP per kill at all.

- Tweaked Naruto's ability a bit by adding the +2 combat strength per diplomatic policy and shared visibility with allies, further emphasizing the original concept and intention behind his leader ability: Friendship-powered combat bonuses. (This means that Naruto can stay competent at war even without allies/while diplomatically isolated and can fight effective Protectorate, Liberation, and other non-warmongering wars alone, while the latter just further emphasizes the importance of him trying to befriend everyone)

- Further repairs to the alliance and emergency combat bonuses since tests proved that they were previously not working.



Gonna be honest, Naruto is actually one of the most interesting leaders for Civ6 (both vanilla and modded) to play as..... his playstyle is basically military-backed diplomacy, the literal embodiment of the saying "Speak softly, and carry a big stick" in this game.

- Fixed a bug in Naruto's voiced Civilopedia quote that when played, did not stop playing even when opening another Civilopedia page or closing the Civilopedia.

- Fixed a bug that prevented Mongolia's Palace from displaying properly when playing as Mongolia with the Hidden Leaf mod enabled

- Reworked the nodes of the files providing the music for the Hidden Leaf Village to prevent future errors related to the modder's upcoming music template.
