Small update

- Fix invisible body problem with Yellow turban generics
- Mod is now compatible with bug fix 1.7.2. In fact, it is recommended that you run this mod with the bug fix patch

Update: May 29, 2023 @ 9:39am

Real final big update; for real this time:

NOTE: YOU MUST START A NEW CAMPAIGN
NOTE 2: MANDATE OF HEAVEN START DATE IS 100% INCOMPATIBLE WITH THIS MOD, ONLY PLAY ON 190, 194 AND 200 START DATES

- New sub-town system - you can now build a unique set of add-on buildings next to a resource building, similar to the bandit factions. Each culture have different sets of buildings available to them. Certain buildings unlocks special units such as the ethnic barbarians: Xiongnu, Wuhuan, Xianbei, Qiang, etc.

- Over 50+ new units courtesy of TROM's latest update, including the various barbarians and unique faction units

- Reworked a lot of unit recruitment requirements. Eliminate many duplicate units from TROM vs vanilla (TROM re-created almost every vanilla units for some reasons, so now they're either taken out of the recruitment pool or reworked into something distinct from their vanilla counterparts

- Incorporated the Nanman Chief mod and the Flavor Nanman Unit pack into the mod, thanks to LuMeng for his permission. 10 previously generic nanman heroes now have unique portraits and models. Added over 15 new unique nanman units to the culture's roster, unlockable through fealty

- Introduce a new food corruption system. Now when expanding, you'll have to also worry about corruptions that takes away your food production as well as your tax income. Food corruption starts slow but soon snowballed in late games.

- When warring with bandit factions, their mere presence on your land will increase food corruption substantially. However, this also gives bandits a new playstyle where you can harass your enemy until their populace starve due to food corruption, and then initiate diplomacy with a starting advantage

- Bandit faction revamped - incorporated Guv's tweaks to bandit faction. Added Zhang Yan new faction mechanic and rebalanced Zheng Jiang's Infamy bonus

- Lots of minor tweaks and balances to the economy, AI's faction bonus and aggressiveness and overall feels of the battle to match TROM and TROM warlord

- Updated 3D models to eliminate invisible body bugs. New, more properly matching models for custom heroes like Zuo Ci and Yuan Fang

- Gan Ji's employment in Sun Ce's faction will decrease the Little Conqueror's reckless luck with every turn. As you unlock more skill nodes on Gan Ji's skill tree, this effect will increase to a point where Sun Ce will lose Reckless Luck despite completing all the available missions. Keep the mystic at your side at your own peril

Update: Oct 1, 2022 @ 2:13pm

Final big update. There might be small hotfixes and balance changes down the road but no more new content will be added

New legendary heroes:

Zuo Ci, Mystic of Mt Tianzhu - (Liu Bei Faction)
Liu Pan, Defender of Changsha - (Liu Biao Faction)
Sun Luban, Dark Side of the Sun - (Sun Ce faction, 200 start date only - she is sun Quan's daughter. She might spawn randomly in other start date very late into the campaign)
Ji Ben, Corruption Annihilator - (formerly a generic, now has his own unique portrait and skillset - randomly spawn in any start date)

TUP Item Changes:

- Thanks to IronicTwist, all TUP OP item and item set have been rebalanced to be much more reasonable. They are now on par with some of the stronger DLC07 items but no longer feel like an exploit - looking at you Gao Shun and Pang De

Records Mode Change

- Revamped all general bodyguard's missile attack, now most of them will follow the concept of Wuxing, countering a specific type of troops:

- Fire Melts Metal - vanguard missile attacks reduce mass and shield block
- Metal Chops Wood - sentinel missile attacks reduce armor and bonus vs cavalry
- Wood Depletes Earth - champion missile attacks reduce range block change and range resistance
- Earth Obstructs Water - commander missile attacks reduce shooting range and range attack rates
- Water Dampens Fire - strategist missile attacks reduce charge speed and charge bonus

Certain heroes such as Huang Zhong, Taishi Ci, Zhuge Liang, Lu Bu, Sun Ren, etc. have unique bodyguard missile effects

All bodyguard missile debuff effects are now visible as an "ability" in the military tab for each general

Rebalance

- Slightly reduce melee weapon damage in romance mode
- Default estate income are now 2000 for both major and minor faction
- Added some of TROM Warlords AI changes to the pack - enemy will be more aggressive from the start and become much more aggressive after turn 30
- Enemy AI faction gets additional buffs to their redeployment, recruitment, unit rank, etc. after every 30 turns, capped at 90 - be careful taking too long in a campaign
- Added more effects (positive and negative) when ranking up faction rank. By default, you get 25% bonus to estate income every rank up (up to 100% at Emperor rank) but a negative diplomatic effect against all other faction the higher your rank increases. This makes end game more chaotic as you have to keep faction relationships in mind. This also applies to AI, so you will see them going to war with one another more often
- Reduce chance of capture for all custom foreign assignments
- Rebalanced a lot of heroes background stat bonus to make more sense
- Rebalanced various admin/passive skills and assignments to be less exploitable but also added new effects for them to be more interesting (i.e. replenish troops while in foreign land)
- Increased Imperial and Dragons units cap
- Added a new ability to "Battlefield Engineers" units. They can now create a "healing zone" on the battlefield that can heal and reduce fatigue for any unit that comes inside it. However, this can also affect enemy units, so they can potentially "take over" the healing zone and use it themselves. You can also do this to healing zones created by enemy engineer units
- And a bunch of other minor stuffs I probably forgot

NOTE regarding Records mode:
- Records mode is playable but due to the weird way the game calculates HP cost for abilities, generals with high HP cost abilities might die very quickly upon activation of those abilities. This is because the game calculates the percentage HP cost based on the full bodyguard unit's HP pool but only takes from the general hero entity when it activates. which mean an ability that cost 10% will cost a 50k bodyguard unit 5000, but the general unit entity only has about 10k HP, making the HP cost in records mode very misleading
- Abilities that requires a general to be "dead" won't function properly because that condition checks for the entire unit's HP pool, not just the general unit entity. So the general may "die" but the ability won't activate until the entire unit is wiped out.
- Keep these in minds as you play Records mode. In general, a lot of these abilities and systems were made and balanced by CA and myself for Romance mode, so certain aspect of them will seems strange or unbalanced when played with Records mode.

Update: Jun 5, 2022 @ 6:32am

Big Update focusing on Records mode.

Aside from the records mode change, the main bug fix here is the crash when launching with the 1.7.1 Bug Fix mod

Records mode revamp is as followed:

- Most vanilla and custom abilities now work for Records mode, including those with splash attacks. When an ability calls for an animation or action like splash attacks or hail of arrows, only the general unit entity will perform it
- General bodyguard size reduced to TROM's level (approximately 2/3 of vanilla default)
- General bodyguard can all do range attacks, but depending on their class, the bodyguard unit will do different things

Vanguard: short range, low firing rate, but projectile has a small AOE effect and reduce mass of units that they hits
Champion: short range, low firing rate, high overall damage and can cause poison debuff
Sentinel: regular mounted bow but sentinel bodyguards have higher base accuracy and can fire 360 degrees by default (other classes can get the 360 degrees firing with certain bow ancillaries)
Commander: regular crossbow, long range, high AP damage
Strategist: repeater crossbow, low range but can cause the powerful suppressing fire effect
Nanman - sling thrower - weak but has highest base ammo out of all bodyguard units

The YTR bodyguards generally follow their Han equivalence (healer = strategist, veteran = champion, scholar = sentinel)

Certain unique general with unique bodyguards can have different range attacks and/or properties compared to the peers of their class

Huang Gai - fire bomb, can ignite surround area
Zhurong - strong fire attack but short range and need clear line of sight (cannot have an ally unit in front)
Taishi Ci - poison bow - each volley also has more arrows than usual and have a wide spread
Yan Baihu - poison bow
Huang Zhong - highest range and accuracy bow attack
Lu Bu - highest bow damage, very long range but lowest base ammo
Xu Chu - use Vanguard's aoe missile instead of Champion's
Dian Wei - throw Ji - very high damage but short range
Zhou Yu/Jia Xu - oil arrows
Sun Ren - long range fire arrows

Late game tweaks (post 3 kingdoms phase):
- When ranking up to Emperor, a diplomacy modifier will be applied to the faction (-35 strategic threat and -25 for all vassal states) - this is an attempt to spice up late game a bit to prevent it from becoming a complete steamroll as you command your doomstacks and vassals to bully the other two kingdoms. Now as you reach this rank, your vassals and every other faction will hate you and eventually will turn on you
- When ranking up, your faction gets a small boost in family estate income and small reduction in redeployment cost
- Ranking up also increase character experience gain. at Emperor rank it's a 50% increase across the entire faction
- All these effects also apply to the AI as far as I can tell

- Add the new TROM style unit UI "tier" for all available units
- Rebalanced various abilities to fit with Records mode
- Fixed Qiang unit permissions for some heroes that should have access to them (Ma Yunlu, Ma Lanli, Ma Xiu, Ma Tie, Ma Wan, pretty much all of Ma Teng and Han Sui's family member and well-known generals)
- Fixed unit permissions unlocks from Technologies (Buqu Ji cavalry, Buqu Ji Heavy Infantry, etc.)
