Long overdue.
  • Reverted the step height change from Hotfix 3A, fixing zombies stepping partway through low ceilings.
  • Fixed a Lua error caused by breaking a virus sample without JMod enabled.
  • Fixed a Lua error caused by zombifying ragdolls without a valid physics object.

Tweaks
  • Sounds that come from mounted content (combine sounds and vial break) will be substituted if the appropriate content is not mounted.
  • Crawling zombies now drown in shallower water.
  • Step height for zombies greatly increased, allowing zombies to scale most of the same obstacles as players. (This may cause problems.)
  • The Horde Spawner will try not to spawn zombies inside of objects.
  • A few optimization changes.

Fixes
  • Fixed a null entity error during target scanning.

Release 3: Quality of Life and Death
Additions
  • New infection convar: "Inherit Health" - makes risen zombies have the same max HP as the NPC or player they were created from. On by default.
  • New client convar: "Low Performance Gibs" - gives gibs a more compressed texture to improve performance.
Tweaks
  • Gib response changed - now based on the final hit's damage instead of the difference in health. This will make gibbing less common and more satisfying.
  • New unstuck solution: zombies will reduce what they can collide with when they become stuck.
  • Special gib effect for chest shot kills.
  • Increased zombie maximum attack range.
Fixes
  • Fixed zombies getting stuck on players and each other.
  • Fixed virus samples not creating decals when destroyed with damage.
  • Fixed a Lua error that can arise when a zombie grabs an NPC.
  • Sound/model precaching now works properly.
  • Zombie corpses are removed correctly again.
  • Fixed zombies taking extra damage from a broken limb.

  • New convar: ba2_cl_zomdecals, which toggles blood decals on zombies
  • New torso gib system
  • Removed eye gibs from headshot effect
  • Headshot damage multiplier is now 4x again
  • Fixed spawner zombies not deleting themselves correctly when stuck
  • Fixed zombies fidgeting when stuck
  • Fixed zombies not walking straight to corpses
  • Fixed several Lua errors
