Chimera Beta 0-9-4

~ Revised AWC Exclusion Lists for each class on case-by-case basis.
~ Added guidance notes within the config on why AWC Exclusion is set-up as is.

Assault
~ Replaced the adjacent LW_slash skill to use the RS_slice version instead.

- Toned down Sledgehammer damage (was 6-10). New damage value (T1) of 4-7

This works out on Legendary Difficulty as:

100% chance to kill a Trooper (4 HP)
25% chance to kill an Officer (7 HP)
100% chance to kill a Sectoid (Melee weak)
50% chance to kill a Turian (5 HP + 1 AP)
25% chance to kill an Asari (4 HP + 3 SP)

I feel this is fair considering the ability has a 4-turn cooldown, plus you can miss.

This shuffling continues the decision rebalancing from the last update. Ability rank > Buff rank > Ability rank. Incognito was previously the GTS skill in Beta 0.8

Tactics Path:

I was still finding the arcthrower near useless in the early game. In the mid it had some application stunning mechs, but most of time firing the pistol was king. I hesitated with this change since it makes the Support insanely useful (I want one on every mission) - but the alternative was sticking with an unused item.

Assault
- Reset stat growth closer towards vanilla Ranger, yet with better will & minor dodge.


Commando
~ Reset stat growth to vanilla Specialist (minus hack), then balanced against the Assault.


Demolitions
- Reset stat growth closer towards vanilla Grenadier, but with good will & poor hack.

Explosives Path:

~ New SGT perk: Bombardier (moved from War Dog)
- Removed perk: Heat Warheads
+ New MJR perk: Air Burst (moved from Chaos)
~ Removed perk: Explosive Expert - since it was mis-firing.
~ New COL perk: Boosted Cores (same effect, +2 explosive damage)

War Dog Path:

~ New SGT perk: Salvo (moved from Explosives)
+ New MJR perk: Preparation

Chaos Path:

~ New MJR perk: Interrupt (moved from War Dog)

Heat Warheads was redundant next to Shredder, so I shuffled in Preparation into the MJR skills selection, which combo's really well with Salvo. Now your cunning Major can prep for a squad breach the turn before, potentially unleashing 3 grenades in single turn.


Gunner
- Reset stat growth to vanilla Grenadier, then gave better aim, more health, terrible hack, weak will.


Hactivist
- Reset growth stat to vanilla Specialist, then gave slightly better will and minor dodge.


Inferno
~ Balanced stat growth against the Assault & Demo. Decent will, minor dodge and unique +1 mobility at MJR.
~ Hit Them Hard perk has been renamed and rebadged. Now called: Storm The Objective!


Marksman
+ Reset stat growth to vanilla Sharpshooter, then gave slightly better will and minor dodge.


Psionic
~ Reset stat growth to vanilla Psi Operative, eliminated random stat rolls, greatly improved will.
~ Raw Talent Tree has been renamed: Dark Gift Path

Dark Gift Path:

+ Lash Out cooldown reduced to 3
+ Blood Kill Zone now only costs 1 HP per shot.
+ Malevolence is now available earlier at COL.

Anomaly Path:

Sledgehammer was previously the 100% pick at CPL, since it gave a dash melee attack. This change turns the assault into an urban breaching class - sledgehammer in with shields up, tank, then shotgun the survivors.

Aggression Tree:

~ New LT skill: Street Sweeper (swapped with Shotgun Wedding)
- Seek & Destroy now comes later at CPT

Maverick Tree:

~ New SGT skill: Shotgun Wedding (swapped with Street Sweeper)
~ New COL skill: Chainshot - replaces Rapidfire, which required 2 AP to fire.
+ Uranium Slug no longer requires 2 AP to fire, but still ends the Assault's turn.


Commando
- Charge! default ability cooldown increased to 4 turns.

Infantry Tree:

- Center Mass nerfed all the way to BRG
+ Hipfire, Kill Zone and Bring 'Em On - all available earlier as a result.


Demolitions
~ Enabled the Chemthrower type as a primary option.


Inferno

~ Set class spawn rate equal to other classes.

Wyvern Tree:

+ Lash Out Knockback increased by 300%!

Note: Lashed out enemies will occasionally get stuck / crumpled into cars, which will then explode

Psyker Tree:

- Mind Merge is no longer a default skill. Moved to CPL.
~ Mind Merge no longer gives ablative shield. Provides mobility instead and lasts longer.
+ Psi Panic is now available earlier at LT
+ Psi Panic no longer consumes all action points (1 AP).
- Contempt now comes later at CPT.

- Psi Heal ability cooldown increased to 3 turns.
+ Mind Control is now available earlier at COL
- Soul Merge ability upgrade removed.
+ New BRG skill: Aurora Wave. Single charge, squad-wide Solace which also applies any learned buffs such as Soothe & Contempt.

You can now fling a Blind or a Panic at an enemy and still fire your weapon. Sustain keeps your Psionic alive and encourages more aggressive play, breaking further from the traditional Psi Op.

Raw Talent Tree:

~ Curse Lure has been removed.
~ Soothe replaces it (formerly a Psyker skill).
- Soothe ability cooldown increased to 3 turns.

Anomaly Tree:

~ The Anomaly tree will now random shuffle for each operative.
- Removed skills: Protection! Sustain, Psi Reanimate
+ New skills: Protector, Voidrift, Control Undead
+ Malaise now affects a slightly larger area

Shuffling the Anomaly deck creates some interesting new choices and combinations, since all the perks are fairly equal in power and usefulness. (Except for GrimyAnomaly, which is always a gamble).


Shinobi
~ New GTS Perk: Tranquil Focus. Grants +25% Crit Chance.
~ Enabled the Combat Shield type as a secondary option.
~ Iridar Rabbit and EGT explosive perks added to Shinobi AWC exclusion list.

Ghost & Shogun Trees:

+ Laughing Shadows and Coup De Grâce both moved to CPL
- Shadowstep and Quickdraw both moved to SGT.

With Bladestorm at CPL since 0-8-2, it was the 100% perk pick every time, despite Shadow Step and Quickdraw being very useful to the class. However Bladestorm *needs* to be at CPL to give the Shinobi an early power boost for both fun & viability.

My solution was to make the SGT skills compete with it. You should now at least hesitate when choosing between Bladestorm and Laughing Shadows.


Support
~ GTS Perk renamed: Death Denied
~ Readded the Bullpup as a primary option.
~ Added the Holotargeter as a secondary option.
~ New default Skill: Stun Gunner (Arcthrower aim boost)

Operator Tree:

~ Electroshock is now a CPL skill
- Swirling Fog now available later at LT.
- Removed skills: Psychotropic Incense & Tactical Sense
+ Chain Lightning is now available earlier at COL
+ New BRG skill: Sacred Incense (aka. Solace Smoke!)

Arcthrower actually has a decent chance to hit now, making it useful again against leftover enemies or mind-controlled team-mates.

We are nearing a final version! Apologies for the delay for this version, I started a new job in January which has taken up my creativity & time.

Overview:

~ Growth Stats for each class rebalanced
~ Re-enable and rework of the Inferno class.
~ Minor rework of the Psionic Class.

~ Various ability description updates via separate CPP update.
~ Added Sociopath to the AWC exclusion lists (will no longer be rolled).

ASSAULT

+ Boosted Will stat growth to be less weak, now average.
+ Added a one-time Dodge stat increase of +5 at CPT.


COMMANDO

~ Removed Sociopath as a bonus starting skill.
~ Balanced Will Stat gains to be more even & regular.


GUNNER

~ Removed vanilla Hail Of Bullets from the BFG Division Tree due it being bugged in CPP.
+ Replaced with Pour It On! (A custom version of LWotC_Walkfire)
- Nerfed Will stat gain. Gunner is now the mentally weakest of the classes.
+ Swapped Lethal with Gatling Fire in the BFG Division Tree.


HACTIVIST

~ Balanced the Hack Stat gain for the class, max attainable is now +80 by BRG level.



INFERNO

Previously the Inferno was a 'Commando-with-a-flamer' side-grade who started very strong early-game, before becoming less effective as time went on.

This redesign attempts to compete with the Demo and the Assault on your squad - it lacks the raw punch of both but hopefully makes up for with versatility. Perk choices try to smooth the LW Gauntlet's power curve.

~ Inferno now uses either a Shotgun or Bullpup.
- Nerfed overall Stat growth to be less god tier and more average.
- Corrected Volatile Mix starting skill to be the nerfed LWotC version instead of vanilla.
- Replaced Quickburn with Burnout in the Inferno Tree.

~ Shuffled Shock skills
- Removed Sprinter and Fyceline Round skills.
+ Added Trench Gun at CPL in the Shock Tree
+ Added Hit Them Hard at LT in the Shock Tree

~ Shuffled Wyvern skills
- Removed Suppression skills from the Wyvern Tree.
+ Added Lightning Reflexes at SGT in the Wyvern Tree.
+ Added Close Combat Specialist at COL in the Wyvern Tree.


MARKSMAN

~ Shadowfire GTS skill will now count as a headshot against the Lost.
- Slightly nerfed end-game Aim Stat growth.



PSIONIC

Decided to stick with the rifleman style of play rather then re-tool towards vanilla Psi Ops. This allows the Psionic to exist alongside the vanilla Psi-Chad-Op if so desired. Hopefully it's obvious that I'm pushing you towards three potential builds rather than mix n' match.

1) Mind-games, buffing you and negging ADVENT.
2) Teleporting rifleman b#stard.
3) Unstable SCP subject wildcard.


~ Wild Talent starting perk removed. Initial Psi Stat buffed to +50 to balance.
+ Mind Merge added as a new starting skill.

- Removed Psionic Metabolism from MAJ on the Psyker Tree
+ Psi Heal is now available at MAJ on the Psyker Tree
+ Soul Merge added at COL on the Psyker Tree.

- Through The Abyss moved up to CPT and into the Raw Talent Tree.
~ Removed Red Mist from MAJ on the Raw Talent Tree.
~ Added Blood Kill Zone at MAJ to replace it.

~ Shuffled early Anomaly perks.
+ Protection moved all the way down to CPL on the Anomaly Tree.
- Removed Cremation from MAJ on the Anomaly Tree.
+ Stasis add as a new skill at MAJ on the Anomaly Tree.


SHINOBI

+ Added some additional HP Stat gains.
+ Boosted natural Dodge Stat growth to +2 or +3 per level. (Unique to Shinobi)



SUPPORT

An end-game nerf to Banish was needed. It now must be truly earned.

- Removed Annihilate from the Venom Tree.
- Moved Banish up into the BRG slot on the Venom Tree.
- Added Marauder at COL on the Venom Tree.

~ On the Medic Tree, Field Surgeon and Medishot have swapped places.
- Nerfed the absurd amount of HP gains via Promotion to be in-line with other classes.
- Nerfed the potentially wild Aim stat growth per level.
+ Fixed the Support never getting any Will Stat upgrades after CPL.

- Removed accidental 5th row spawn on BRG rank only for Marksman.

Minor Hotfix

- Allows users who were mid-campaign on Build 0.8.2 to continue using / equipping the holotargeter on the Marksman.

Side-effect: everyone can equip a holotargeter on the Marksman as an optional sidearm. I guess this is not necessarily a bad thing, it's just kind of dead weight without enhancement perks.
