Oh, look. I posted a Distance level! That's pretty interesting. Solace is a cool name for a Distance track. Solace, however, is not a very cool Distance track. But what is cool? Scientists define cool as being way cooler than you. Solace is a level that's mostly grayscale. It would be entirely grayscale if diSTANCE HAD OBJECTS THAT COULD BE ENTIRELY GRAYSCALE! SERIOUSLY, WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?! YOU CAN CHANGE THE PROPERTIES ON SOME OBJECTS ENTIRELY BLACK AND WHITE AND THEY'LL STILL HAVE COLORS! THAT WAS A SERIOUS DESIGN CHALLENGE! AND THERE'S THIS WEIRD BLUE COLOR IN THE SKY THAT WON'T GO AWAY FOR SOME REASON!

But what is Solace? Solace stands for:
Solace
o
l
a
c
e

Solace was not a copy or continuation of Phoenix. I just have a curse where my levels end up almost exactly the same. Phoenix is a level that takes place in a world that doesn't make sense. Phoenix is almost grayscale, but it isn't.

sol·ace
/ˈsäləs/
noun
1.
comfort or consolation in a time of distress or sadness.
"she sought solace in her religion"
synonyms: comfort, consolation, cheer, support, relief
"they found solace in each other"
verb
1.
give solace to.
synonyms: comfort, console, cheer, support, soothe, calm
"she was solaced with tea and sympathy"

This level is in no way related to the definition of the word.

This level had the most beta testers out of any other level I made, but for some reason I didn't include their names in the description or comments. They were: Omega, Plasmawario, Pinapl, Pigpenguin, and Glacial Soup.

Solace was named after that Hollow Knight achievement. You know the one.

Solace is a Distance level. But what is Distance? Distance is a game with cars. Sometimes the cars drive. And sometimes they don't. Distance is the best game.

This change note is more meta than Homestuck. You know, maybe.

BEANS!

Solace is a level where the road goes downhill. There's not really a hill, but the average height of the level decreases as you go farther. There are weird floaty landmasses made of cubes, but I don't know if those count as hills. They don't even interact with the track. They just float around the track. That doesn't even make any sense, like why would there be random floating space debris around the track and nowhere else? Who designed this level? There isn't even a plausible reason for people to want to put a road around this stuff anyway. The level's got like 4 buildings total, and they're all the same. They were obviously man made, but they don't have a plausible reason to be there either.

Fun facts about Solace:
Solace doesn't have a story
Solace doesn't have any butterflies
Solace is a word that has meaning
Solace isn't my first Distance level
Santa isn't real.
Solace actually isn't even close to grayscale
Solace isn't Phoenix 2.0

Solace has a lot of cubes. Almost 50, I think. I don't know, I can't count. I used cubes because I'm lowkey too lazy to make an actual landscape. Also I thought they would look cool. Solace originally started off as a level called Soul, which was a lot darker and a lot more grayscale, but I didn't like Soul so I redesigned the whole thing and came up with a different concept. They might as well have been different levels
