The LOTR Realms in Exile mod has been reforged as Lord of the Rings - War of the Ring!

After a long and hard winding road, the LOTR team is happy to announce that we have reforged the mod to be compatible with version 2.0.3

And not only that, we have made an entirely new start date set a few decades before the War of the Ring!

The War of the Ring events are not scripted per se, but you can still find a way to destroy the ring by conquering the Shire. Then there will be a "The One Ring" decision where you can, among other things, choose to throw the ring into the fires of Mt. Doom if your ruler is commanding an army and standing just under Mt. Doom (the Mt. Doom province itself is impassable). The option to throw in the ring will appear when you are in that province.

*BUT THERE IS ONE SERIOUS ISSUE REMAINING WITH THE VANILLA VERSION WHERE WE HAVE HAD TO MAKE WORKAROUNDS*

Levy calculations in versions 2+ of Imperator are completely broken. If you integrate a dwarven culture that is 5% of your total population, your levies will be 95% dwarven or thereabouts. To address this, we had to disable cultural assimilation to citizen and noble levels entirely. The upside of this however is that we no longer need the old "50% Dunedain", etc. modifiers to make troops fight better. Now Dunedain, Dwarven and Elf troops all fight as if they had 100% of the modifier regardless of the percentage of the population they are - this is of course more realistic, but it also means that most non-integrated cultures will not contribute to your wars.

To address this, I removed the diplomatic relations cost of most subject states, so feel free to go nuts with those if you need more troops to fight in your wars.

However, Mordor has an religious law called "Age of the Orc" where non-integrated pops do get "assimilated" (read: eaten and replaced by orcish settlers) over time. In a hotfix I'll also make this law available to orcish tribals, but so far I haven't gotten around to that.

so i just downloaded this mod and checked the unit stats when i started a round with dol amroth and the dunedain infantry seem a little op. like 200% bonuses against everyone and the dol amroth knights only have around 50 % bonuses against everyone, whats up with that? the mod looks great otherwise

For Isengard, you just need the newer versions of the mod. For Mordor it is intended that you cannot. See levy bug.

was wondering how can i promote uruk hai culture to integrate them and get the troops i have not figured it out with isengard or mordor

• Added a new mission tree for the Horse Lords of Rohan
• Building models for Isengard, Annuminas, and other locations
• New nations, events, graphics, and treasures
• An enhanced Heritage system for all nations
• Map improvements throughout Middle-earth
• Added unique unit models for a few more nations
• Plenty of fixes and additions

• Decisions to rebuild/destroy some of Middle-earth’s wonders
• Map improvements - notably to the Eastern side of the map

was anyone able to form the Khazad Dum Kingdom with Balins Colony?
i tried SO hard and in the end i did it but now i just have like 5 dwarven pops who contribute to my military, the rest of them cannot be anything other than slaves.

I think not a single longbeard pop grew in those 20 years i needed to form Khazad Dum.
Is that.. normal?
