Marathon-class Heavy Cruiser (Vanilla)

Description
The Marathon-class heavy cruiser is a heavy capital ship classification in the UNSC Navy. It is best suited to frontline combat duty alongside other cruisers like the Halcyon-class.

History
As time went on and the Halcyon-class light cruiser proved to be a mostly fruitless investment, the UNSC needed a new, more economical and effective mainstay combat cruiser. Thus came the Marathon. Along with her decent firepower of MACs and Archer missiles, she is fast as well as maneuverable, and cheap for her tonnage. However, when the Covenant attacked, it was discovered that these valuable cruisers, while quite capable of destroying Covenant ships, could not handle very much damage from the enemy's plasma weaponry.

Armament
2 Rocket Launchers - 12 Missile Turrets - 4 Gatling Turrets - 4 Strikecraft Slots - 1 Interior Defense Turret

Tactics
Marathons perform best when used alongside other cruisers, use their firepower to cover the other ships of the fleet while tougher ships absorb most of the damage.

This ship is 1:10 scale. It is 100% light armor construction and is not rated for atmosphere.

No shit. 1.17km (almost 3/4 of a mile) is pretty big. Someone else made the original Halcyon and, although it got amazing ratings on the workshop because, I'll admit, it was fuckin' beautiful, almost no one can use it. My ships may be small, but they are pretty, functional, and can be used in fair numbers.

I actually have a few questions to ask you if you have the time

Oh, Jimlore, in response to your point about the detachable booster pods like seen when Pillar takes off in Reach, I am making the Autumn-class Heavy cruiser which will be compatible with those... I think. I gotta get her made first.

jimlore: Yeah, that's the main issue with UNSC ships as they tend to be built vertically while being horizontally slim, meaning less room usually especially with really scaled down builds like this one. The interior would be easier with smaller components and no need for the conveyor lines.

As it is, I tend to be more focused on form, and then making it as functional as possible without harming the look.

Wayne, Titan, Dragon: Thank you!

Officer: I do want to do a Punic, and the human ships aren't too hard to do vanilla until they get to a size where vanilla thrusters are nearly useless and heavily lag inducing. I'll work on it!
