The complete guide to the Hidden Content in Van Helsing Final Cut

Introduction

So I have been playing Van Helsing Final Cut (VHFC) and I'm a little OCD. I searched high and low for a comprehensive guide on the hidden content but was there a complete list? Unfortunately not. Not even from the developers themselves.

So here is a list, compiled from various sources of cross-comparisons and hours of gameplay for the Hidden Content found in VHFC. Some are straight forward, others are not. Some have been removed completely from what we remember from VH I, II & III etc; and some new ones have appeared too.

Hopefully this helps those who appreciate the finer intricacies of the game development and the effort that has gone into making this a quality game.

Disclaimer

This is compiled by myself from hours of accumulative game play. I have utilised others' guides and quest lists to compare and locate many of these secrets and achievements.

! Important: It is recommended to play the game through in story mode at least once before attempting to find all the hidden content. Some items are recommended to be acquired during New Game + mode as well.

This is not a 100% perfect compilation. For that, we'd have to request a full list from the developers - which defeats the purpose of it being hidden content.

The items listed below are not defined in any specific order. Wherever possible, items that need to be completed in a specific sequential order or have an impact to other areas or decisions in the game will be highlighted. The order in which you find these items may depend on your own decisions and style of game play. Check out the full list of items here first before running through a level to ensure you don't miss anything.

If you have comments, be constructive. If it's not constructive, don't mention it and keep it to yourself.

If you find a mistake or wish to amend something, let me know so others can benefit as well.

Important Reminder

Back in 2022, Neocore's online service provider for IAVH (GameSparks) ceased all operations. This means that all online account syncing (including multiplayer) is no longer available.

Any previous save games and progress you had is now reset - i.e. you have to start again. However, the characters you made are still available, but who knows for how long.

To recover your character files, go to their website[neocoregames.com] and follow the instructions to download them.

Once you've downloaded the files, load the game and when you get the login screen, you now need to select "offline mode". Don't attempt to login to your Neocore account, as this will simply cause the login screen to hang. Click cancel to go back, and select offline.

Update Jun 2023

Chapters 1-6 Screenshots Update - In Progress. Life has a tendency to get in the way.

As a result of the save files being reset, another play through was required anyway. Screenshots for the first chapters have now been added. Screenshots for the additional chapters will be redone/updated as time allows.

Chapter 1

There are a total of 16 hidden content items available to acquire in Chapter 1.


1. Talk to the two-headed cow in Markovna Village

2. Acquired the Easter Egg in Markovna Village

Chase the white chicken until it drops a rare egg.

Loot the dropped item and consume it.

! Important: The egg must be consumed for it to count

3. Found hidden bandit treasure in Croakwood

In Markovna go to the north-east most house, and listen to a conversation between two bandits who stole some gold from their boss.

Then, find the "werewolf totem" in Croakwood and click it.

4. Help the Nameless wisp (Riddlewisp #1)

Answer with: "I didn't take your name" and then "I don't know it, but Katarina does"

5. Buried hanged man's body

In southern Croakwood, find the hanged corpse.

Then, go to northern Croakwood, and find the ghost.

• Tell Katarina to get the ghost to follow you.
  
• Lead him back to the corpse you found in the south.

6. Acquired the Ancient Coin in Croakwood

On a hill are some elite hostiles, kill them all, then loot the coin.

7. Acquired the Weapon Oil in Croakwood

! Important: You must have the Ancient Coin for this to work. See previous step if you don't have it yet.

Locate the well and use the coin (throw it into the well). Kill the harpies that spawn and loot the weapon oil.

8. Pulled the Sword from the Stone [Excalibur]

! Important: You must have the Weapon Oil for this to work. See previous step if you don't have it yet.

Locate the sword in the middle (on a hill) of Croakwood. Use the weapon oil to loose the sword.

9. Found stray goat in Gallowsbog

In Markovna there is a drunk man just outside the tavern, mumbling about how he fed a goat near the river a diamond.

Locate the goat corpse in Gallowsbog and click it. This drops a "diamond essence".

10. Pressed the Big Red Button in Gallowsbog

Near the blimp where the land mines quest is. Click it and kill the mobs that spawn.

11. Follow the wisp in Gallowsbog

Follow the wisp westward. It will then summon more. Kill them all for loot.

12. Locate Werewolf Spirit Stone

! Important: If you did not spare the Werewolf pack leader in the Wolf-Den in Croakwood, you cannot get this.

You will find this item during the quest to get the electrical essence for the blacksmith in Markovna.

After clicking on the required machine and attempting to leave the area, one of the werewolves in the nearby cage will stop you and say he was looking for you. He gives you an epic trophy.

Note: Make sure you kill all the soldiers before you click the machine as the soldiers can easily kill the werewolves.

Chapter 1...

13. Defeat the Frenzied Forest Spirit in Gallowsbog

Throughout the map are 8x runestones.

Click all of these (in no specific order) to summon the spirit in the north-east (near the bridge).

Once you have interacted with the last runestone, you will receive a new quest and Katarina will comment on how you have summoned the spirit.

Go to the bridge in the north-east of Gallowsbog and kill the spirit.

14. Riddle of the Vodyanoi

Rotate all the vodyanoi statues so they face the central stone idol.

This will then summon two frog-people [Tweedledum and Tweedledee]. Kill them both and loot.

15. Acquire the Mysterious Key for Borislav's Statue

Collect 3x mysterious gemstones to get the key.

One is in Croakwood at the Romany camp:

One is in the north-west of Gallowsbog:

One is in the northern part of the Ink Rift (accessed via the town well in Markovna):

Once you have all 3 gemstones, go back to Markovna and interact with the Borislav statue. Loot the key that is dropped.

16. Find the 'Bunnyslayer'

After getting the quest for the electrical essence from the blacksmith in Markovna, talk to the blacksmith again, and he'll offer you a turn with his tools for 100 gold - accept.

The blacksmith offers to get rid of the junk Van Helsing made, instead tell him you wish to keep it.

You will get the quest item, an unidentified bent sword.

Once you have that, go and talk to an NPC called "Nutty Stefan". He can be found in the church, and also doing an anti-clockwise lap past the Borislav statue.

He will comment on the sword, saying it's a demon slayer.

Respond with "No, it's the bunny slayer". The item will turn into an epic quality sword which has pretty 'meh' stats. It's only use is for killing a bunny boss found later on.

Note: Only a Protector class can use the Bunnyslayer sword, however, the achievement will still unlock by simply killing the bunny in question (regardless of your class).

Bonuses

1. [Bone Relics]

You will receive a bone relic from some elite mobs around Gallowsbog and potentially later in the game as well. You have 2x options to choose from on how to use this loot:


Option A: Go back to the Vodyanoi professor and sell them to receive 1500 Gold pieces per relic.

Option B: Interact with the Great Gluttoner Idol to receive 2 Ability points per relic.

Spoiler: There is another idol later in the game that you can interact with and get ability points if you have already sold some relics to the Professor.

2. Legacy - Suspicious Domovoy

This bonus is still active for the standalone game (IAVH #1), however for IAVH:FC this is no longer an obtainable bonus.

At the beginning of the game, is the Domovoy in Gorgon's Pass.

You need to hit him 20x times and have loot drop to get this achievement.

Use upgraded tar shot (Van Helsing) as well as mirage queen ability (Katarina) to keep him slowed and hit him quickly.

Loot the items (including gold) for this to count.

! Important: If you miss this, you need to restart to attempt it. Once it's missed, it's gone for good.

Note: You cannot kill the Domovoy, as he will inevitably jump off the cliff.

Chapter 2

There are a total of 13 hidden content items available to acquire in Chapter 2.


1. Acquired the Fifth Element

• Riddlerwisp #2 - Answer is "Death?"

2. Acquired Glowing Rat Liver

• Chase the rat (usually down the stairs) like the chicken in chapter 1
  
• Loot the dropped item and consume

3. Found the Beggar King's Hideout

• Give gold to every beggar in the Rookery [x6] and in the Sewage Plant [x5].
  Note:
  
  • Beggar #4 (Sewage Plant) will ask you "Why you fight?" instead of asking for gold.
    
  • This beggar is easily identifiable by the 'Z' painted on the wall next to him.
    
  • Answer with "you want to protect the innocent and fight evil".
    
  • This will still count towards the Beggar King hidden quest, but will also grant you the Hat of the Fox (see further down).
• When you speak to the last beggar, and assuming you've correctly paid all the others, he will mention his master and how he needs saving himself.
  
• Tell him that "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" and accept his quest.
  
• The Ink Portal will open up in the top north-west corner of the Sewage Plant.

Rookery:

Sewage Plant:

4. Acquired Darko's Hat in Rookery

• Obtained through the clean water quest.
  
• Quest-giver will offer his hat as reward when you complete the quest. Accept it.

5. Caught the Ragged Boot at fishing spot in Rookery

• Click the fishing chair until the item is found. (This may take more than one attempt)

6. Catch Mutant Fish in Rookery

• Destroy/open an old crate nearby to acquire the 'Mutant Bait'
  
• Go back to the fishing chair and select it again until you obtain the fish.

7. Fed the Mutant Fish to the cat in Rookery

• The cat is hidden underneath the stairs below the fishing spot.
  
• Katarina suggests you should experiment with the cat.
  
• Drag and drop the 'Mutant Fish' item onto the ground for cat to walk over and eat it.

8. Acquired Zorro's Hat [Hat of the Fox]

• Acquired as part of the 'Beggar King's Hideout" hidden quest. (See #3 above)
  
• Speak to beggar #4 in far north of the Sewage Plant. He will ask "Why you fight?".
  
• Answer with "you want to protect the innocent and fight evil"

9. Overheard the Alchemist and acquired the treasure

• The Alchemist is hidden in the far northern part of the Sewage Plant.
  
• Listen to the conversation to identify the hidden essence treasure location.
  
• The treasure is located just below the Ink Gate in the center of the map.

10. Broke the control panel in the Abandoned Research Station

The control panel is in the far north eastern section.

• Ensure you have restored power to the station (quest requirement) first.
  
• If you have, you can see an Ink Portal and the panel, which will have a green light.
  
• Press the control button, (there is a chance for harpies to spawn or for an essence to drop from that Ink Portal), and kill any mobs that spawn.
  
• Keep pressing the control panel until Katarina says you've broken it.

Chapter 2...

11. Found the hidden treasure in Industrial Port

• Speak to Todor Schimko after you choose the generator plans (quest item) and he returns to the Secret Lair.

• He offers to sell you some more documents and one of them is a treasure map worth 8000 gold.
  
• You don't need to choose between them as you can buy them both.
  
• The hidden treasure will then be marked on the map and is easy to find.

12. Acquired a "Certain Magical Ring"

• Find 'Domovoy Baggins' in the Industrial Port and kill him.
  
• Loot him for the 'Precious'

13. Acquired the Domovoy's Sword from Industrial Port

• Remember the Domovoy that escaped in Chapter 1 - Gorgon's Pass?
  
• Well, it didn't survive the fall.
  
• Loot for an epic sword.

Bonuses

1. Collect an additional 3x mysterious gemstones

Similar to what you collected in Chapter 1. These are required to unlock the secret in Chapter 3.

• 1x is located in the Dreadworks south-west corner

• 1x is located in the Abandoned Research Station north-west corner

• and 1x is located in the Industrial Port north-west corner

! Important:

• The gem in the Abandoned Research Station can't be reached until after you have restored power.
  
• The one in the Industrial Port is a part of the hidden treasure quest, so you can't get it until you buy the map from Todor Schmiko.

2. Great Gluttoner Idol

• The second idol is available in the Lost Place as part of the 'Lost in the Ink' quest.
  
• You can exchange any additional [Bone Relics] here for ability points.

3. The 'White Rabbit'

• This innocent looking white rabbit is the beast you must slay for the hidden achievement.
  
• Unleash your judgement.

Chapter 3

There are a total of 10 hidden content items available to acquire in Chapter 3.


1. Found all advertising columns in Old Town (click all columns)

• Click all the columns (total of 6x)

2. Use Borislav's statue and enter the ink portal

• You will need to use the 3x mysterious gemstones you collected in Chapter 2 to unlock the Borislav statue.

• Once inside the ink, you will need to acquire 6x additional mysterious gemstones from elite hostiles and a domovoy corpse in the area.

• Once you have acquired them, use them on each of the 2x guardian statues to remove the ward from the Borislav statue. Then loot the chests.

• Use the key (from Chapter 1) on the now accessible statue (click it).
  
• This will grant you the Borislav Sceptre trophy.

3. Found all Ragged Boots (x3) in Old Town

• Loot all hidden rubble piles.

4. Found hidden castle treasure in Old Town

• Click on the Lion statue near the central castle.

5. Allied with the Werewolves

! Important: This requires you having let the werewolf pack leader live from Chapter 1.

• Select Gruumsh and choose to ally with the werewolves.

6. Found the mutant fish

• Click the fish stall to get a random drop epic item.

7. Found 'Wisphunter's Guide to the Ink'

• Riddlerwisp #3, answer is "42".
  
• If all 3x riddles have been answered correctly you will get hidden achievement as well.

8. Found the secret area in TD Inktide Tunnels

• Do not let any enemies through by round 3 of 4.

9. Found the hidden ink portal in the Secret Laboratory

• Offer the sewage worker food.

10. Defeated the Minions of the Marquis of Soot

• Kill all 4x Chimney Sweep Minions in Rooftop Mayhem area (after the Gables)

Chapter 4

There are a total of 26 hidden content items available to acquire in Chapter 4.


1. Found the secret area in the Subterranean Incursion TD

• Build approximately 19 or 20 traps to unlock.

2. Found Hidden Prison section

• Get the iron cell key from a nearby enemy
  
• Release the beggar next to Tesla and give him 100 gold pieces

3. Found the mask of the cannibal

• This item is inside the crate in the cell of the man asking to be released (Hannibal Lecter reference)
  
  ! Important: This can only be achieved if you are not going for the 'Profiler' achievement
  
  If you are, it is recommended to make a backup of your savegame file, acquire the achievement for your platform (Steam or GOG), then restore your savegame file so as to acquire the hidden content.

4. Found Dr Jekyll's tincture

• Green man in cell (Cross reference to Mr. Hyde and the Hulk)
  
• Release the man and then kill him for the reward.
  
  ! Important: This can only be achieved if you are not going for the 'Profiler' achievement
  
  If you are, it is recommended to make a backup of your savegame file, acquire the achievement for your platform (Steam or GOG), then restore your savegame file so as to acquire the hidden content.

5. Found Mushroom Expert's certificate

• Located near the lone windmill in Thunderhead mountains

6. Found the Woodcarver's totem treasure

• This is just up the road from lone windmill on the left-hand side

7. Found the Scarecrow's treasure

8. Acquired Don Quijote's Lance

• This is stuck in the wall of the windmill directly across from the scarecrow

9. Acquired frozen goldfish

! Important: This is required for a Chapter 5 secret.

10. Found the Dungeon Keeper's armour

• Near the ice barrier, there is a house on hill.
  
• The armour is sitting on an altar. Take it.

11. Summoned the giants in the village

• Use the gong in the center of the village and kill all the giants that spawn.

12. Convinced Woody that he is a ghoul!

• There'll be 2x options:
  
  • Give him a spare hat
    
  • Offer Woody food

• If you offer Woody a spare hat, you should get some XP and he'll appear again later in a Chapter 6 secret.
  
• If you offer him food, he will attack you. Kill him and then consume the snack he drops.
  
  Either choice will count towards completing this secret.

13. Loot the young hunter's body for an epic ring

! Important: This secret is part of the quest 'The Black Idol' which is provided by the Adept of Perun.
Once you leave the Ink, you cannot go back to that area, so make sure you acquire the loot before you leave.

14. Found the secret area in the Invasion of the Rat-Things TD

• Fully upgrade 5x traps

15. Acquired the Afterlife ring

• This is in the first room of the Cold Caverns
  
• Loot the skeleton pile

16. Evicted the Domovoy from the mine cart

• Click the mine cart in the center room of the Cold Caverns
  
• It will be hanging above

17. Looted the Grey Wizard

• Located on the broken bridge in the Cold Caverns
  
• Loot the staff and sword

18. Acquired a Rare Ore

• Listen to the skeleton's story
  
• Loot the ore pile just after the clockwork quest engineer

19. Saved the bomb expert's life

• Help the expert by placing the dynamite.
  
• ! Important: choose to listen to Katarina's advice instead

20. Acquired the Dungeon Keeper's amulet

• Loot the skulls on the altar in the Spiritwalker's central camp.

Chapter 4...

21. Found the Runestone from the Well

! Important: Do not go to the well at the ghost village first. If you do, you will summon the monsters and this secret will then be unobtainable.

• Talk to the imprisoned merchant at the central Spiritwalker camp.
  
• Then talk to the Spiritwalker leader and choose to locate the relic
  
• Then go to the well.
  
• Katarina will mention that a stone is missing
  
• Choose to investigate, then go back to the merchant and he will tell you where the stone is.
  
  • Note: sometimes the merchant is no longer in the skeleton prison. If this is the case, simply locate the merchant's camp below the bridge entrance to the Spiritwalker's camp and loot the carpets to locate the runestone.
• Go back to the Spiritwalker leader.

At the end of the quest, the merchant will return to his camp where he will sell some rare items.

22. Found the Masterfully Botched Armour

• This is an amulet
  
• Located between 2x stone giant heads
  
• Kill the elites then receive the reward

23. Proven the existence of the Yeti

• Click all the drums in Spiritwalker camp quickly to hear the Yeti roar

24. Acquired the Spiritwalker's relic

• Located in a bone pile in the southern giants' camp

25. Defeated the Black Knight

• Talk to the black knight

26. Acquired 'The Rock' from the Stone Idols

• Moving in a clockwise direction from quest-giver, the correct answers are
  
  • "Stone, because it is the hardest"
    
  • "That would be a mountain"
    
  • "Wet stones" (kill mobs afterwards)
    
  • "The mountain"
    
  • "A mountain"

Bonuses

1. Acquired moonstones (required for Chapter 5 secret)

• 1x from corpse near entrance of the Giantwoods
  
  
  
  
• 1x (giant moonstone) from the Perun follower quest

2. Acquired Engraved Key and Ring of Guidance

• Speak to the giant in the far northern camp and purchase the items.
  
  
  
  
• The 'Ring of Guidance' missing instructions will appear after 'X' damage dealt whilst wearing the ring.
  
  • Note: Some instructions are only able to be completed in Veteran (New Game+) mode

Extra - "Profiler" Achievement

• In the Secret Holding Facility, only open the cells of the Resistance fighters for this secret achievement.
  
• ! Important: Do not open the cells of the 'Well known psychiatrist' or of 'Dr Jekyll'.
  (Refer to Chapter 4 - Page 1 > #3 & #4)
  
• If you do, you will miss unlocking this achievement.
  
• Note: If you are going for this achievement, you cannot achieve the secrets for the Cannibal's mask or Dr Jekyll's tincture.

Chapter 5

There are a total of 12 hidden content items available to acquire in Chapter 5.


1. Made Koschei's Tear

! Important: This requires the 3x moonstones from Chapter 4.

• Speak to Dr Kampf at the beginning of the level.

2. Found the secret area in The Inhuman Regiment TD

• Kill approx. 200 - 250 enemies.
  
• Note: Some have indicated that this requires only trap kills.
  
  • Set Katarina to ghost form
    
  • Noted by some that this does not include 'Monster in the box' kills as these are considered minions.
• Make sure you purchase/build both recyclers to collect more machine parts.
  
• Just strategically place your traps for each wave.
  
• This should be achievable by approx. the end of the 3rd wave.

3. Found the Emerald Lantern

• Click the lantern.
  
• Collect the item that drops down.
  
• This will turn into a relic that can be used by your resistance captains once you return to the lair.

4. Found the crate of essences

• This requires the blue crystal key to open a locked door, which you would've acquired from killing the first Chimera Elder at the beginning of the level.
  
• Loot the crate.
  
• Kill the chimera mobs that spawn back at the doorway entrance.

5. Summoned a Chimera Elder

• Trigger the secret by viewing information found on a desk.
  
  • Note: You cannot miss it... There's a massive golden ? hovering over it.

• Locate the summoning platform

• Rotate the statues to face inward (similar to the Vodyanoi statues in Chapter 1)

• Kill the Chimera Elder

6. Took the thieves' guild treasure

• At the far northeast part of the Viaduct Junction there is a door at the end of an alley.
  
• Listen to the conversation between the thieves.
  
• Once complete, a barrel will become selectable.
  
• Take the loot.

7. Thawed the Goldfish

! Important: Requires the goldfish from Chapter 4.

• Use the kettle.
  
• Collect the loot.

8. Found the secret area in the Foundry (Packaging Room)

• Walk up to the door.

9. Acquired the Photon Blade Essence

• Obtained from Athur Detour

10. Acquired T95 chip from Shredder Wreck

• Loot the Shredder Wreck

11. Found the resistance sign on a wall

• Notice the 'Half-Life' symbol.
  
• Loot the 'Loose Pack Bale'.

12. Survived a mass squirrel attack

• Kill 1x squirrel at the highlighted location.
  
• Then kill all giant squirrels that spawn.

Bonuses

1. Caverns of Steel TD

! Important: This is required to complete a secret in Chapter 6.

• Fully upgrade 5x different traps.

Chapter 6

There are a total of 11 hidden content items available to acquire in Chapter 6.


1. Located Sherlock (Domovoy) Holmes' house

• Speak to the beggar.

2. Acquired Dungeon Keeper Gloves from the altar

• These are located in the Testing Facility.

! Important: Whilst you are here, if you are following the Ring of Guidance instructions, drop the ring onto the ground and pick it back up for steps 2 and 3 of the mini quest.

3. Killed the murderer(s)

! Important: The number of elites to kill will depend on your previous story decisions.

• Kill Jack the Inkripper (will always appear)
  
• Kill Dr Lecter (will only appear If you freed him from the cell in Chapter 4)
  
• Kill Woody (will only appear if you spared him in Chapter 4)

4. Located the Van Helsing 'Batman' Signal on the rooftops

• On the way to locating Von Schreck.
  
• Run up the stairway to trigger the signal on the far building wall.

5. Acquired the Dungeon Keeper Skull

• This is located in Wormwood Chasm.

6. Found all Dungeon Keeper items

! Important: This is only achievable if you have successfully acquired all the previous Dungeon Keeper items.

• The skull (#5 above) should be the last item you need to collect to complete this secret.
  
• If successful, once you have collected the skull, you will be instantly summoned by Yugaroth to a final fight in the Gorge of Eternal Peril.
  
• Defeat the mobs.
  
• In the center of the area, there is the 'Arches of Peril' which you can select to gain extra loot.

7. Read all signs on gravestones

• These are located in the far south-eastern corner of Wormwood Chasm.
  
• Read all 10x gravestones to unlock the secret.
  
  • Note: some are hidden by the tree branches. Zoom in to get a clearer view.
• Once you have selected them all, you'll be attacked by 5x wights. Kill them.

8. Survived a horde of harpies

• Locate the innocent looking patch of pigeons.
  
• After approaching them, they will turn into a group of Vila Veterans. Kill them all.

9. Unlocked the Mystic Orb

! Important: This is only achievable if you purchased the engraved key from Mr Bellow Smash Jr. in Chapter 4.

• Approach the statue and select the mystic orb.

• Use the key to unlock the mystic orb and create a portal to a mysterious island.

• On the island, kill the mobs, and then there is another mystic orb which you can loot.

10. Opened secret portal as part of the Ring of Guidance mini quest

! Important: The Ring of Guidance instructions must be followed in the correct sequence.

To ensure each step counts correctly, you do not need to be wearing the ring, but must have it at least in your carried inventory (i.e., not in storage in your lair).

Instructions:

Touch the Idol on the Crystal Workshop
Walk to the altar in the Testing Facility
Throw this ring to the ground; then take it back
Find the wraiths in the Wormwood Chasm
Kill the wraiths but spare the leader

3. Open your inventory and drag the Ring of Guidance onto the ground. Give it a second or two, then pick it back up.

   • It is recommended to set Katarina to ghost form for this section.
     
   • Do not use a weapon/skill capable of hitting multiple enemies. Use only a single hit/shot weapon so you are only targeting the individual wraith minions.
     
   • Once complete, click the Idol of Guidance and the ink gate will then appear.
   
   
6. Once the ink gate has spawned, enter it to travel to a secret island.
   
   
   
   
   • Kill the mobs that attack.
     
   • Locate the house and move around to the eastern wall.
     
   • Loot the Domovoy corpse.

11. Found secret area in the Caverns of Steel TD

2. Found the 'Titanic' Domovoy (On northern part of Sanctuary map. As you walk passed a ship's prow, a domovoy in a red jacket jumps off.)


3. Acquired the Dragon Tooth (found in Island of Bones. Portal is at far east side of Sanctuary map)


4. Exploding Elf (Speak to the House Elf in Inkheart Mines that warns you to go away. Speak to it again (click it) to cause it to explode)


5. Acquired Essences from rubble in Inkheart Mines (x3 minor essences found in Glittering Stones)


6. Left the Smallzilla alone (Found on the left path in a hollow. Get this one before heading down the right pathway.)


7. Found secret portal in Crystal Bastion (Follow pathway to the right, in a nook off the path just before the final battle.)

Chapter 8 (13 items)

1. Found and killed an Eater of Light.

Pick up the secret cell key from the mobs here.

Then go to the secret door and enter it to teleport to the hidden area.

Kill the mobs, including the Eater of Light and then take your loot.

2. Killed the colonist [made a death wish]. (On the operating table in the southern main room.)


3. Found the Daywalker. (Speak to the other prisoner next to Vlados.)


4. Found research documents on Serym X (Click on bookshelf in south-eastern room.)


5. Discovered the submerged section (Murky Waters Achievement)


6. Katarina hit the Gong. (Hit the gong and kill the mobs that spawn.)


7. Hit the Crystal (Hit the crystal and kill the mobs that spawn. Keep hitting until depleted.)


8. Uncovered the true story of Hansel and Gretel (Locate the house in the north and speak to the Refugee. The Grimm Truth Achievement.)


9. Solved the Riddle of the Frog Statues (Click all the statues and solve the riddle. The answer to the riddle is "The pit" at the entrance location to the Gnarlovoy)


10. Acquired the Skrimbeast potion.
(Pick up the quest from the house and then go back to the start location to kill the Skrimbeast. Grab the innards and go back to the lair. Speak to Dr Dampf to create the potion. Consume for +10 Mana)


11. Closed the ink gateway (Closed the ink gateway in the northern part of the map by clicking the runestones in the order 1-5 as indicated.)

6. Sabotaged the ringmaster's airship. (Move close to the airship to trigger this secret)


7. Sold the chocolate necklace to the undead (Choose to give chocolate necklace to rotting abomination)


8. Found the Tomb of Lady Irina's Pony (Click the tomb for this secret and achievement)


9. Solved the Riddle to access the hidden treasure.


Activate the braziers in the order of 3, 1, 2 & 4. Then use the ink portal to enter hidden area with 2x treasure chests.

10. Found the menacing statue (Click the statue for this secret)


11. Found the dead lumberjacks...again. (Speak to the lumberjacks)

Bonuses

The previous achievement (VH 3) for speaking to the gladiator in the Circus has since been removed.

Chapter 10 (13 items)

1. Read the inscription on the horned statue (Click the statue.)


2. Found the hidden treasure in the wheat field (Move to the south-west corner of the field to locate the hidden treasure.)


3. "Winter is Coming!" (Speak to the Gnome Sentry.)


4. Kill the Rabbit (Yet another Monty Python reference. Kill the rabbit behind the statue head for this secret.)


5. Located the hidden stash of beard grease (Loot the copper treasure chest to acuqire the unidentified "beard" grease.)


6. The Dreamer Artifact
Take the quest from the dreamer at the beginning of the map.


Collect the rust fragments from Rubble Piles and return to the dreamer.


Acquire the Unidentified Ring as your reward.

Now teleport back to the Lair and speak with Dr Dampf [Alchemist]. Choose to swap the now inert artifact for a useable ring instead.


7. Found the strange armour from a grim future (Pick up the Bolter for this Warhammer 40K Space Marine reference.)


8. Found the "Cabin in the Woods" sign (Click the house.)


9. Found the portrait of the Atlantean Dame (Click the middle portrait.)


10. Found the hidden book (Click the mermaid statue to loot "The Man from Atlantis" book/scroll. Consume to gain +10 HP.)


11. Found the secret area in TD The Empyrean Perimeter (build and upgrade 10 or more traps.)


12. Found the TARDIS console.


13. Acquired the ratio figures for the control station. (Speak to the Klockmeister and help him count the cogs on the wheel. The correct answer is '32')

Chapter 11 (10 items)

1. Killed the suicidal domovoy.

A suspicious domovoy is running away here. You need to kill it quickly before he jumps.


2. Tasted the Titan Flesh

Accept the quest from the Deformed Prisoner and collect the titan flesh chunks.


Give the flesh chunks to the feeders and then return to the deformed prisoner to hand the quest in.


Immediately after handing the quest in, Katarina will ask whether you have ever wanted to try the Titan Flesh. Choose to consume a bite for +10HP and unlocking the secret.

3. Located Katarina's Aunt.

Speak with Katarina's Aunt in Shrine of Lamentation for the secret and hidden achievement.


4. Located Professor Fulmigati

Speak with the ghost of Fulmigati to unlock the secret. He is behind the feeder on the edge of the ledge.


5. Found the Titan-slaying paraphernalia.

Move to the very edge of the giant sword hilt to trigger this secret.


6. Found the secret area in the TD Battle of the Ink.

Not sure what triggers this one, but I killed 144 enemies, 17 by traps. It unlocked for me at the very end, so it could also be just completing the 4/4 waves? Portal is back at the entrance.


7. Acquired the "Guidebook to Hell by Dante, A."

Click the pile of skeletons to loot this guide. Consume the guide for +10HP.


8. Found the Jailor's cousin.

Speak to the interrogator's cousin to unlock this secret.


9. Acquired "The Real Hell's Kitchen Cookbook"

Click on the funeral pyre to loot this hellish book. Signed G.R.


10. Found a fragment of Koschei's Tear.

Click the pile of bones to loot this item.

@Shodoman - What I have done to get the Empyrean Perimeter TD secret is to fully upgrade 2 types of traps.

There are many bugs in the game, and OCD is very uncomfortable. For example, in Chapter 6, there are 11 hidden elements displayed, but only 9 can be found.

I just finished chapter 1 and thought I had everything but only had 14/16. Can I go back? How do I see what the other two are? Many thanks in advance for any help :)

Corrections (common mistakes in many previous Guides):-
3. Found the Beggar King's Hideout
Give gold to every beggar in the Rookery [x6] and in the Sewage Plant [x5]. " Only one of the Sewage Plant 'ordinary' x3 beggars needs a donation of Gold to lower the drawbridge to access the Beggar King Quest holder. "

" The following is incorrect, this beggar's question is fully independent from the Beggar King Quest, as it can be ignored or done after completing the beggar King Quest. "
Beggar #4 (Sewage Plant) will ask you "Why you fight?" instead of asking for gold.
This beggar is easily identifiable by the 'Z' painted on the wall next to him.
Answer with "you want to protect the innocent and fight evil".
This will still count towards the Beggar King hidden quest, but will also grant you the Hat of the Fox (see further down).

The biggest flaw of this guide is that it doesn't tell you in specific what the reward item is or what it does. I'm trying to look for MUST DO secrets that add permanent resist, skill points and so forth.... such a huge shame that a lot of these guides don't mention it.
