Amphion - Nautilus - Heavy Fighter

Description
Amphion presents the Nautilus, a heavy fighter with ample armaments and armor. While fully loaded to the brim, its mass can be up to 96t. Unloaded it sits around 78t. Being this massive, it doesn't have the best acceleration for dodging. Its main focal point of weaponry are the 16 gatling guns mounted directly beneath the cockpit. The design is entirely meant to reduce the likelihood of being disabled in combat, with widely distributed thrusters and large armor plates to cover them. As it dishes out damage, its load lightens and therefore becomes more nimble.

The craft itself is meant to be used for long-term patrols, as it is not built with docking in mind, but has modest storage capacity and comes with its own oxygen generator. The two large reactors are primarily used for charging the batteries of the craft in between missions, but the nautilus can operate solely on either/or without coming close to overloading the power supply.

Armaments
16 Gatling Guns - Forward-mounted, Fixed
4 rocket launchers, sequenced, forward-mounted, fixed

Countermeasures
3 decoys

Equipment
-3 cameras, frontward, rearward and downward facing
-8 batteries
-2 large reactors
-1 oxygen generator (electrolysis machine)
-14 gyroscopes (to improve turning capabilities for distributing damage across the entire frame)
-Maintenance Projector

Acceleration
(fully loaded) ~5-6m/s^2
(unloaded/light load) ~7-8m/s^2

Scripts Utilized
Whiplash's Velocity Indicator
Whiplash's Firing Sequencer Mk3
MMaster's Automatic LCDs 2
MMaster's Show Damaged on HUD (temporarily disabled). Looking for another auxiliary script to enhance information.

One thing that this Nautilus shares with its namesake is the shape, otherwise it is not a scavenger or opportunistic predator. It is aggressive for its mass and can take a beating.

Behind the Name

The Nautilus is considered a living fossil, but there is growing concern that they are being hugely overfished, not just for the shape of their shells, but for the nacreous inner shell (frequently used as a pearl substitute). In 2016 there were finally regulations placed on commercial trade, so permits are required to harvest and distribute the creature's shells and other parts.

It can be unfazed by pressure changes of up to 80 atmospheres, which is in no small part thanks to its shell structure.

As dangerous as it is pretty, this is likely to be one of the best fighters I've ever printed.

Looks like I'll be building one of all the AMPH ships/stations in my vanilla survival world.
I can't help it - these creations are THAT good..
