Introduction

Hello and welcome to my guide on your first steps and other helps and tips. We are also looking for a survivle mode and creative mod writer.

here you will find useful tips tricks and information in no mans sky to help you not grow that extra 3rd arm, or get your ship and face blown up. In here you have got the codes and tricks to solve them and also help to find the atlas pass so enjoy and hit the rate button also leave a comment on what you want me to add or change

Starting out

Right so you launched no man's sky for the first time. Your on a planet and don't know what to do its cold its toxic and god knows what else. Start of by collecting your items to keep your suit alive like life control and to stop you freezing or growing your 3rd arm. Instead of collecting the items or can't find them and your freezing or growing your extra arm hide in caves till the bar go's up pretty simple.




now you need to fix your ship first off collect about 150 iron for the carite sheet's if you don't know how to build these (like i did for first 20 mins) open your inventory by clicking tab then hit E on one of your empty spaces it should be there if you have your iron. now fix your ship up and collect the last few bits.




what i did i searched as much as i could for first half hour on the planet i started found few monuments and stations but it was getting annoying being close to death with the cold and or toxic so i shot off to space in my ship by pointing up and using my jump system continue to use this system until you reach a new planet or were ever you want to go.


i would recommend finding a planet that is not cold or toxic common sense rly so this was basicly the basics

101 on resources

No mans sky main life line is resources and the know how of gathering them this guide will help you know how and what to look fore [Update] right with this new update they have changed alot of things so not sure if this is out of date but you can NOW scan from space the plannets to see what valuable resources


GATHERING:
at the very beginning of the game you are given a multi tool which you use to mine/harvest resources and also to defend yourself and engage in on foot combat with upgrades. to gather resources you must aim the multi tool at the object you wish to harvest then click and hold left click till the resource is all gone or your inventory is full top right you have a temperature bar telling you how hot your tool is as your tool will overheat and you have to wait for it to cool down after (takes less than a second or 2)

CRAFTING:
if you open your inventory (tab button by default) you then hover over an empty grey slot and pres e this will bring up your craft menu with the items you know how to craft if you hover your mouse over these items it will tell you what resources it takes to craft them (go out and collect the required resources) once you collected the resources you can then craft the item by holding left click on the item you want to craft

RESOURCES:
Resources come in many different shapes and sizes also classifications i will make a list of what class they are and icon they come with to find them on the scanner (every system changes with what amount of resources it has some may have loads of plutonium and others might be scarce of that resource to find resources to mine hit the scan button (c on default) and little icons will show up over the area your in (icons listed bellow) walk towards one of the icons to start harvesting this resource you want

Equipment and you

In no mans sky you have 3 main equipment you use. The 3 you use you can upgrade to any amount of changes these 3 are your ship your exosuit and your multitool gun




EXOSUIT:
Your exosuit is the basic inventory you will load in with at the start to access your inventory menu hit the (tab button by default) this suit helps by protecting you from all the toxic air in the atmosphere also heat radiation and cold the starter size of your suit is 10 but more you explore you can find more exo suits you can hold stacks of 250 of materials in each slot you can also create upgrades for your suit to help you on your way




your suit has a maximum of 48 slots and each upgrade costs 10k more than the previous purchase so first buy is 10k next suit upgrade will cost 20k and so on so forth



SHIP:
Your ship if basically what you travel through space and on planet surface its your life line and your transport it uses loads of energy to land and take off but keep a nice couple of stacks of plutonium on hand in the ship for safety the warp drive needs warp cells you can make later on or buy and the pulse drive uses some isotope's you can mine by shooting asteroids in space so won't run out of that any time soon easy find your weapons can also use isotopes as well to fire the normal laser wont use any but the bigger ones will. your ship also has inventory slots where you can buy bigger ships and different looks for more inventory starter ship has 14 slots (pre order ship has 17) but you can buy up to like 40 or maybe even more but this costs loads of units so best get mining you can also upgrade your ships damage and other parts to help you on the way same as your exosuit





MULTI-TOOL:
your multi tool is your no. life line this is where you get all your fuel for your suit tool itself and ship its your basic miner and your foot combat tool you can toggle the combat mode and mining mode to switch between the two if you have the upgrade for combat attached to your tool by clicking (X by default) this can be upgraded to help the combat mode and mining mode effect like faster mining longer fire for the laser before the gun needs to cool down and more damage for the combat also faster fire and grenades to help you find caves and blow up doors and holes in the ground and combat you can use basic isotopes for recharging the ammo on your laser combat gun and grenades this tool mines all the ore you want to get by finding it and firing at the ore. you can upgrade this tool by finding gun stations in random shelters on planets or stations you will have to buy these multi tools but you can get more slots for more upgrades these upgrades also stack and gain a bonus next to eachother



all 3 of these items can be upgraded by mining resources and creating them to make them better and more reliable and better in all forms

Starting your base

1. Finding your base


you have to press "Z" on your keyboard and use "Q" and "E" to scroll through your tech until you get a "signal booster" it is fairly cheap in resources and there all over most planets. to place the signal booster by highlight placement moving it around the ground waiting for it to glow green then press "F". you then go to your signal booster by interacting with it, once the menu is open select "habitable base". you then fly or walk to the base that was marked on your minimap and enter the small building to claim your base your have to go to the terminal to inside the base and interact with it to claim the base.


2. Getting it ready and Hiring Workers


to start you build a separate room by pressing "z", and use the scroll wheel until you find the parts you need press "Q" and "E" to swap between hall or room to attach to the main room, place a "construction terminal" into the new room you have placed. To hire a worker go to any space station and find a room with aliens in you then talk to one of the aliens until one asked to be your construction manager and select hire.


3. Expanding your new base


Go back to your base and talk to the alien and follow the tasks assigned to expand your base to make money and your own home away from home

• warp 3 times to unlock the ability to travel between any space station or your base and back again. The teleporter is a big blue circle in your bases main room and space stations
  
• if you create a new base no need to worry most of the materials needed to build will transfer to the item cache and all your employees will reappear once there terminals are built

Atlas pass V1 - V2 - V3

Here’s what to do:
V1 pass
Make sure you choose the path of Atlas at the very start of the game. It’s said that helps, rather than choosing to be a free explorer.Play through the game as normal; you’ll learn how to travel between systems.After several warp jumps, you’ll be alerted to the presence of a special Space Station. Go and interact with itYou’ll be altered to the presence of a Monolith next. Go to it and interact with it.After the interaction, you’ll be alerted to an “Anomaly Detected” message. Follow that anomaly — usually across multiple systems — to an Atlas Interface (see above).Dock with that Station and interact with the items there. You should get the Atlas Stone then.Another “Anomaly Detected” will lead to another Atlas Interface.That station will offer up the recipe for the Atlas Pass v1, the lowest level of the keys.


V2 pass AND the V3 pass

To find the V2/V3 pass you need have the V1 pass blueprint first then land on a planet any planet and search observatory (higher chance on extreme weather planets and korvax Worlds) you then want to go inside the observatory and click on the computer it will give you a random blue print but low chances you will get the V2/V3 pass

The best way to find them is to find one of the orange glowing things that tell you where places are at the cost of a bypass chip. Make 5 or 6 chips and put them all towards finding colonial outposts. You will get them from the console in the centre if you get the question right.

Easy words and simple

Right i found a nice way to get words easy find a landing pad on a planet i found one with a Sentinel being inside for the faction around here or race around here he requires some items that is easy to find to talk to him about 20 for me i then mined loads of these items and continued to talk to him over and over learning new words every other time to talk to him

I have been playing for 150 hours and i did choose the atlas path but i can't find atlas v2 anywhere and i have never seen the orange beem anywhaere. All the videos i look at on youtube say i can use a becon to look for colonial building. nope that doesnt work either. only see habitable buildings.
Do i have to start again from scratch?
