Tilled Soil

Description
About
Since the beginning of civilisation the human race has been tilling soil to bring vital nutrients to the surface when planting crops. With this mod humanity in the year 5500 can too!

This mod adds a new flooring; tilled soil, which is a buildable version of soil, with 200% fertility.

In addition it adds research for terrain rehabilitation allowing you to build dirt onto smooth stone and other natural floor types so you can build underground greenhouses.

FAQ
Q: Is this mod overpowered?
A: No.

Q: But, it allows you to build soil with 200% fertility, which isn't realistic. I'm looking for a mod that adds soil with 101% ferility to satisfy my dreams of being a real farmer. I don't want crop growth to be sped up by any noticable amount.
A: That isn't a question. The goal of this mod is to provide a method of more compact farming and the ability to construct terrain with artificial fertility. As a user of my own mod I can say this mod achieves that.

Q: Is this mod ever going to change to suit my specific ideas about tilled soil?
A: No.

Thanks. I was looking in the wrong place. I'll test it out tomorrow after I celebrate New Year's !
Incidentally, the hoops you mention in VG; never have seen it or even knew it was available until I saw you mention it

@LeotheJust I believe you have to jump through some hoops to use VG's tilled soil rather than just simply tilling the soil.

The XML you'd be looking for is in the steam/steamapps/workshop/content/294100/822470192/Defs/TerrainDefs and it'll be named Terrain_TilledSoil.

Open it with notepad or whatever you want. All I did to fix the problem was changing the "SoilTilled" in the <defName>SoilTilled</defName> line at the top to "GardenSoil" and save. Next time I loaded the game, the tilled soil was back in the floor tab as it should be.

If I have VG and it contains its own version of tilled soil, what is the need for this mod then? I also have noticed that tilled soil has disappeared from the flooring tab. But I am less comfortable than you in changing xml files since I have never done it before. What is the exact file name I would look for? I see mods under the core directory, but then?

Actually, no worries. I looked into it and the mod Vegetable Gardens had it's own version of tilled soil with the same exact defining name in the XML files, I just renamed VG's SoilTilled to something random like GardenSoil. The tilled soil of this mod is now properly back in the flooring tab. I suppose this is in case anyone else has the same problem I had.

Hmm, I would like to use this with the Vegetable Garden Mod since it would compliment the agriculture nicely, but that mod seems to remove the tilled soil from the flooring tab. Any way to fix this? I already tried moving the load order around to no avail.

This is currently tagged 0.16, but I can't find terrain rehabilitation in the new research tree

I should probably put this in the description, but I wont be adding a fertilliser item or making any changes to this mod as I assume the vast majority of subscribers like it how it is. A different version may be made in future when I remake Glitter Tech, but as it stands either class this as cheat mod or add the item yourself.

Adding to what Bonnie Lass said... A 'fertiliser' item you craft at a campfire or somesuch wouldn't be too bad an idea.
Obviously, cheap as anything... but a 'hard mode' variant?
As it stands, I've got my indoor greenhouse growing trees right up to the mountain-roof hahaa!
Love this mod and thank you for updating it to .16 so soon :D
