THIS MOD IS DEPRECATED AND HAS NO ACTIVE SUPPORT OR UPDATES. USE ON YOUR OWN RISK!

Adds a battle axe and a hatchet for every tier

Works with or without LW2!

V 1.2 LW2 Compatibility
V 1.1.2 Reduced movement penalty for t1 battle axe to -1. Made penalty configurable for each tier.
V 1.1.1 Hiding previous tiers when new tier is bought (except Combat Cleaver)
V 1.1 Grimys Utility Slot Sidearms support
V 1.0 Initial Release

Higher tiers are unlocked when you buy the coresponding sword tier. There are no additional costs.

There is a config value if you only want cosmetic variants which have no stat difference to the vanilla swords
just set
bAxeIsCosmetic=true
bThrowingAxeIsCosmetic=true
(Default is false)

This mod comes with a default integration to Grimys Loot Mod and Grimys Utility Slot Sidearms

Battle Axe
Damage: 3-5
Aim Bonus: 15%
Crit Damage: 3
Crit Chance: 15%
Armor Pierce: 1
Armor Shred: 0
Rupture: 0
Grants Cleave Ability (Perfom a mighty slash against all targets in small cone. Also good for strike down walls or destroying cover. 5 turn cooldown)
Movement Penalty: -1

Energy Battle Axe
Damage: 5-7
Aim Bonus: 15%
Crit Damage: 4
Crit Chance: 20%
Armor Pierce: 2
Armor Shred: 0
Rupture: 1
Grants Cleave Ability (Perfom a mighty slash against all targets in small cone. Also good for strike down walls or destroying cover. 4 turn cooldown)
Movement Penalty: -2

Plasma Battle Axe
Damage: 7-9
Aim Bonus: 20%
Crit Damage: 5
Crit Chance: 25%
Armor Pierce: 3
Armor Shred: 0
Rupture: 2
Grants Cleave Ability (Perfom a mighty slash against all targets in small cone. Also good for strike down walls or destroying cover. 3 turn cooldown)
Movement Penalty: -2
30% stun chance

Hatchet
Damage: 2-4
Aim Bonus: 15%
Crit Damage: 3
Crit Chance: 10%
Armor Pierce: 0
Armor Shred: 0
Grants Lightning Slash Ability (Attack any enemy within blue movement range with your Hatchet. This attack does not cost an action point. 5 turn cooldown.)

Combat Cleaver
Damage: 3-5
Aim Bonus: 15%
Crit Damage: 3
Crit Chance: 15%
Armor Pierce: 0
Armor Shred: 0
Grants Lightning Slash Ability (Attack any enemy within blue movement range with your Combat Cleaver. This attack does not cost an action point. 4 turn cooldown.)
Grants Butcher Ability (Does +3 damage to organic enemies)

EMP Axe
Damage: 4-6
Aim Bonus: 15%
Crit Damage: 3
Crit Chance: 20%
Armor Pierce: 0
Armor Shred: 0
Grants Lightning Slash Ability (Attack any enemy within blue movement range with your Combat Cleaver. This attack does not cost an action point. 4 turn cooldown.)
Grants EMP Emitter Ability (Does +5 damage to robotic enemies)


All stats including setting stun, panic, burn or disorient effects can be edited in
...\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\268500\718190620\config\XComAxeMod.ini

currently the axes are not respecting my ini edits in regards to damage...but cleave for example is responding to radius changes? ninjato and other blades are indeed responding just not this one.

Any known mod conflicts? Axes do not operate as described for me; no armour pierce, and rare environmental damage

I had to unsubscribe, unfortunately. I was hoping to make these weapons purely cosmetic, like all my other mods. I was unable to find the ini file in Linux. Found the default ini file, weapon not listed. Seemed I looked both everywhere and a lifetime. This being said, I really appreciate this mod, and the work and time put into it. Thank you.

@Miguelmonte2005 are you using it in LW2? Last I knew LW had issues where AoE attacks show incorrrect hit values on targets

just made a test run, 12 tries, missed every single one of the hits. 100% axe slash failures, different targets, different saves... i'm at a loss... anyone else has this?

i miss every one of my 71% axe slash attacks with my scorpion mod class... every single one... any thoughts? anyone with a similar experience, always missing axe attacks?

I would recommend a slight damage increase to make these compare to the standard weapons because right now the tier 2 and 3 items just aren't doing enough damage compared to the basic weapons.
