Another OS coming .. it's the legendary Windows 95 !! the first Version of windows who had the interface we know and use everyday in modern versions .. the desktop, taskbar, and the start menu .. it was a big evolution at the time ..

This is why the Black Mesa incident happened, the whole facility was operating on windows 95

A windows '98 mod would make sense if '98 caught on in the 2000's, because Half-Life is supposed to take place in the 2000's. fun fact.

Windows 98 took until about 2000 to become commonplace like Win95 was in 1998.

Considering I was going on memory and I got it in 1999 (18 years almost!), not far off. And Windows 98 took AGES to become commonplace. Windows 95, by 98, was EVERYWHERE.
(Came installed on ALL ready-made PCs!)
