This game was released 15 years after SID MEIER'S ALPHA CENTAURI and still doesn't even come close.

Where SMAC's focused and intense gameplay still holds up, BEYOND EARTH feels like its messed-up stepson trying to impress his old man by overcompensating in all the wrong places.

An average game that's okay for a campaign or two, and therefore a disappointment in the CIVILIZATION series.
