Testchamber 14: Revisualized

Description
A reinvigorating remastered version of the classic chamber from the original Portal. This map involves the classic elements of its predecessor, with some refreshing changes.

This was really neat. One issue I experienced is I was a bit hasty on the second light bridge jump to the laser, and I just barely missed the jump, but I got either part of my model or the cube to trigger the save zone in that area anyways, and I got stuck in a save loop. Might wanna update the positioning of the save area and maybe extend the floor in front of the laser to go back deeper.

Thanks! I really like seeing these playthroughs as it really does help in the creation and tweaking process. I'm hoping to finally put out a final version once I get my files ported over to a new machine.

Thanks for the feedback; indeed the fine-tuning will be a continuous thing. Got a few things to do tweak already, in fact. I am also open to hear any potential issues or concerns.
I am quite pleased with how this turned out considering this was my first try at making a map in Hammer.

What's interesting is that the puzzle can easily be solved without the need for the stairs or pit... or even any portalable walls where the stairs are!

Good luck with fine-tuning this map. It's certainly better than @audiotrash's piece of trash!

@Keavon: Yeah I got a few requests for slowing down the light bridges now. I'll be looking into fixing that. As for the stairs, Portal 2 has an annoying visual glitch with panel stairs: Screenshot reference (click). So I basically changed the portalability so that no one would encounter that blemish.
Oh and the flipping panel by the button is so you can pop a portal to the other room and grab the cube easier. It's essentially to avoid excessive running around.

Interesting. But slow down the lightbridges, or replace them with lifts. And make the stairs up to the cube and laser receptor area close when you go past them, like in P1. And make the stairs at the end a lift. And what's the point of the flipping panel next to the button?

I like it! Make some fixes and make some more!

@Wulfe: Thanks for the feedback. Always great to hear what others think. Yeah I know what you mean. It may be a tad tedious, but there is sadly no solution to that problem. The original level broke the door if the cube was brought beyond a certain point, which fixed any stuck issues, so I couldn't use that setup in my level as the cube needed to be carried to the laser room.
Though I will definitely consider tweaking the timer. A few have already requested that change so I think a tweak to that is definitely in order. Also, if I do happen to come across some logic setup to detect when particular stuck situations occur, I will definitely change up the surfaces in that room. Thanks again for your feedback :)

Great Job remaking a chamber from the first game! It really brings back memories. Thanks for the fun!
