This mission is all about dogfighting, test your skills against multiple adversaries over the beautiful Altis scenery.

This mission requires several mods, see list on right hand side.

This mission performs best when hosted as a multiplayer game even if playing singleplayer...

Multiplayer > Quickplay > Host Server > Select Lan/Internet (tick Upnp if internet) Select Top Gun mission -> Play (select maverick if you are host)

• SP or up to 16 player coop
• Get catapulted off USS Nimitz in an F14 as Maverick, Goose, Iceman plus more
• Up to 9 SU35 enemy jets patrolling the 3 dangerzones
• 22 F14 Tomcats stored on deck and in hangar of Nimitz
• 15 F15 & F18's at NATO airbase
• Nimitz and Airbase protected by heavy AA
• Repair, Refuel and Ammo at airbase
• Towing trucks for towing F14's around deck
• Respawn script (only works in MP: Multiplayer > New > Host lan/internet > Topgun)
• Unlimited waves of enemy jets.
• Rescue chopper for human ejectees (go to map, press 0-8-1-1 at pickup co-ords)
• Skill tracking, scoreboard in Nimitz tower
• Weapons locker rooms onboard Nimitz
• Time Skip feature (visit portaloo on rear lower deck)
• Long range radar (map markers) showing first wave of jets, 2nd+ waves are stealth
• Enemy airfields protected by AA tanks and ground patrols
• Full instructions & briefing viewable on map
• Top Gun Soundtrack

@Red Cell - All I can suggest is to start ARMA with ONLY the REQUIRED MODS - NOTHING ELSE!

And then try the mission.


Works? You have a 'bad mod'.

Does not work? Mission is broken after last ARMA update about 2 weeks ago (or one of the 'helper mods' required for this mission).


Bout all I can offer outside of verify your ARMA files...

I can't get in any of the planes on the carrier all it say's is hook down . Help?

In regards to your statement, I agree - There is ALWAYS room for improvement in all things for all people. :)

The 'Quest 3'? I looked at such things, but I do not think they would work too well for ME.

#1 - I wear glasses which have a prism in them, so I have to wear the glasses. Some VR's you can not fit the unit on while wearing glasses.

#2 - And for ME, games such as ARMA or MSFS 2020, I use the keyboard very much. For example, I can drop full flaps in <=1 seconds using the keyboard (F8), or drag the mouse around the screen and find the controls for the flaps >3 seconds. So this has been a 'sticking point' for me for VR in general.

#3 - The tech on these keep changing too often for my liking. It is worse than a normal 'tech products life cycle' to ME. So, I pay $500 in Jan, only to have a unit come out in July, twice as better for less. :(

I do hope it does work for you. I think they are pretty kool myself!

It was just caramel topping. Sadly I ate it all, sorry. :( but I can tell you that It was very very tasty 🤤

I don't take anyones side in this. I understand people can get frustrated and annoyed. But at the end of the day this shit does not matter. Now you tried helping. he could have handed it better and you could also have handeld it better. having this disagreement and arguing, react to everything, its pointless. We are all here because we love Arma 3.

I Will receive the Quest 3 today so I can say I will definitely do some flying in VR Im super hyped😄

Sadly, you're a little late to the party... ;)

It was all about what 'people of old' termed, a 'spoiled brat'. Today, there are other words for the same behaviors; Karen's, Kevin's, Chad's, and the still used word of 'A??hole'.

None of us are required to help anyone on Steam. So, as so many have done before, out of the goodness of my heart, I reached out to help this person.

And...well...you saw their response(s). Not something I would be proud of.


He presented no thanks, appreciation, gratitude, kindness, or even civility in multitude of ways he could have presented himself and/or his responses.


He thinks I am a fool though...his 'whining' about 'screaming' was only a deflection of his own doings, and I bet he did not even know about it! ;)

It was due that I 'caught him' in his error of it not working. He did not like that, so he pitched a 'temper tantrum' - plain and simple.

His reaction is extremely common and easily detected/defeated.

And he knew he was caught too. How do I know this? Quite simple:

#1 - No one offered anything different.
#2 - He never came back and said that he tried those things and they did not work.
#3 - And the biggest reason of all - He was the ONLY ONE with this issue. Kinda looks like it is on his end...

He did something 'goofy' and that was all there was to it. We ALL have done this before...BIG DEAL! ;) He was just not mature enough to admit to it, where most of us would have.


'Screaming' = .32% of ALL words written in my message that he complained about. He said nothing about the OTHER 98.68% of the other words... (1 vs. 310) ;)

Sad: Immaturity and irresponsibility - There was nothing 'good' about his behavior and it is an embarrassment. . .
