[DSi] Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II

Leírás
Nicknamed the "Warthog" by the United States Air Force, this is the infamous plane that Fairchild Republic built just to carry the massive GAU-8 Avenger rotary cannon, and it's now ready for planetary mayhem in Space Engineers. Complete with working landing gear, aerodynamic wings and working weapons, it's the perfect plane to rain destruction on space pirates and rivals alike.

I will update this blueprint as I find new mods that are made for atmospheric aircraft. Really hoping for a new cockpit, especially. The AIS Cockpit was the closest thing I could find so far. If you have a mod, be it a weapon or otherwise, that you think would be great for the Thunderbolt II, please feel free to tell me in the comments.


UPDATE LOG:
-- 11/18/15 - Added lights to the exterior and resized the rear stabilizers. Added RB Weapon Collection for rocket pods.

It's a shame it needs a lot of mods to be accurate.

I'm sure Space Engineers will get accurate and hopefully include the aerodynamic wings in the base game.

i suggest asking aroud to see if you can get someone to make something that appears or is the avenger cannon, if you havent already.

Unfortunately, that does mean that the Required Items list has changed sightly, including a change in mod used for the cockpit and the gatling gun. However, I feel these changes really improve the quality of the aircraft, and I hope you like them too!

Alright, I've made a big update to the A-10 Thunderbolt II in an effort to make it resemble the real thing better AND be more combat effective.

@ Zaanix Hmm, I tried adding the Grendel, but it's just too big to fit onto the Warthog without compromising its appearance. However, you can use Grendel's smaller cousin, the Bulldog gatling gun. It's the same width as the current gatling gun and a little shorter. The downside is that both the Grendel and the Bulldog are less accurate than the current gatling gun and they look less like the gun on the real thing.

Would it be too big, or could you put the Grendel minigun as the nose cannon? Just needs to have HE ammo, then your all set.

Alright, that should do it. The Required Items list on the right now has all the mods you'll need to paste an A-10 Thunderbolt II. Just don't forget that it flies way better with Midspace's Ship Speed Unlimited mod.
