Planetary Drop Pod (Inspired by Warhammer 40k Space Marine Drop Pod)

Description
INTRO:

This will probably be the ONLY craft i design to crash on purpose.
This is a drop pod designed to be launched from a large orbital craft directly to the planet's surface.

This design was basically thrown together so dont expect perfection but it is great fun to use and play with.

And yes it is inspired by Games Workshops Warhammer 40k Space Marines all credit where due, but dont ask me to try and fit a dreadnaught in there.

If you want to repaint it in Space Marine Chapter colours then be my guest :)

SPEC:

-This craft is designed to be as lightweight resources-wise as possible.
-It also needed to be as small as possible to be stored and launched from another ship.
-It can survive impacts onto a planet or asteroid while travelling at 104.4m/s (Max vanilla speed).
-It can carry 4 engineers.
-It is the quickest possible method of landing on a planet (and surviving) with enough resources to establish a basic base of operations. However you will need to add the extra materials needed to do so in the container.

OPERATION:

- FLY DIRECTLY AT PLANET -> ENSURE BASE AND LANDING GEAR ARE POINTING AT GROUND -> BRACE.
- After collision and rolling around for a bit, hit the reverse ramps button and the pod should right itself and everyone can disembark

TESTING:

-Tested 7 times on a planet.
- 6 Tests successful with lots of damage but none to important comonents, hatch ramps take most of the damage.
- 1 test, hit a mountain and rolled all the way down, lost 2 hatch ramps and 1 passenger, still had all important components still managed to stand upright and majority of crew survived.

Moral of the story is DONT AIM FOR A MOUNTAIN!

Kinda Bad news: with the hatch doors the pod is MUCH heavier than expected so the 50 m sensor doesnt work you need to hit the breaking thrusters much earlier to land safely will do some moar tests to standardise the process so that you can just hit a button to go and have added some decent remote flight controls so that you can land wherever on the planet.

I look forward to seeing it.

The downside is that it is a bit bulkier than the previous version and not quite as cheap. However i have taken extra care to make it look even more like a proper space marine drop pod (In deference to the AWESOME space marine skins that have recently come to the workshop) and also made it so that it could in theory be easily launched from a large ship.

I have just tested a preliminary version of the hydrogen drop pod and my god it is sweeet, the decelleration thrusters are so powerful i can set a 50m sensor to auto decellerate the craft enough for the landing gear to autolock the ground. This thing can just be fired at the ground and the auto systems can do the rest, no bouncing around or awkward controls.

Wouldn't the Cyberhounds and sabroids just nom the landing gear? If that is a popular request then i will try to work it into the design, however it should be noted that this vehicle is designed for ridiculously fast deployment of 4 engineers + gear to the planet's surface and will be limited in terms of usefulness after that. Ideally you would quickly build a base and then scrap the drop pod.

Landing gear on pistons, so that Cyberhounds and Sabroids don't eat it at night.

This thing is long overdue for an update anyway so yes im gonna build a new version hopefully over this weekend, any other requests?

Can you make a Hydrogen based version for planets with low or no atmosphere?
